Custom Home Builder reviews across the US

We worked with Nickelson Construction for our full basement finish and cannot recommend them highly enough. We turned our 600 sqft basement into a conforming bedroom, a 3/4 bathroom, and a living room with a wet bar. Nickelson Construction was great at communication throughout the project, which was our initial reason for choosing them. They were clear about the cost and stayed within budget and schedule. Their project management platform was easy to use. Isaac's whole team was professional, respectful, and had great customer service. Their quality is evident in the final product. Highly recommend for any type of home construction needs.

We could not be happier with our sunroom addition and deck by Nickelson Construction! The entire team was a pleasure to work with from the first consultation through the final reveal. They were able to take our ideas and concepts and guide us throughout the entire process from the initial design to final construction. The construction superintendent, Steven, kept us informed every step of the way and promptly addressed our questions or concerns. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the finished space made our addition blend perfectly with the main structure. Nickelson Construction turned our vision into a warm and welcoming area that we will be able to enjoy for years to come.

We chose Nickelson Construction for our 2021 home addition after interviewing and receiving estimates from over a dozen contractors. They weren’t the lowest estimate, but neither were they the highest. They won the job because their estimate was the most transparent and detailed, they were the best at communication, and they were willing to customize against our budget in an honest, thorough manner. From the first estimate, Isaac indicated that his goal was a limited number of change orders through the course of the project so that we stayed on budget. He knows what he’s doing because once all was said and done we only had a total of three minor change orders that were completely because of us as homeowners changing our minds on a feature.

Even during a pandemic when labor and supplies were in short supply, the project stayed mostly on schedule and within budget. The quality of the workmanship was above reproach and, in the couple instances we asked for a rework or change, it was done without hesitation and to our satisfaction. We lived in our house with small children through the renovation and here are some highlights that made this possible:
Great communication was maintained throughout the project, streamlined through a competent and thorough project manager.
A consistent schedule was maintained and our own needs as homeowners were considered.
The subcontractors that were brought onsite were professional and courteous.
The jobsite was kept tidy and contained.
Our furniture and belongings were taken care of respectfully

We’ve been living in our addition for a year now so can attest to the completeness of the job and prompt attention to any of our post-construction inquiries. We will absolutely be working with Nickelson Construction again in the future!

When we decided to build our mountain home, we were both excited and a little nervous because it’s such a big project, and you hear so many horror stories about builders. But working with Nickelson Construction was honestly a dream from start to finish.
We wanted a smaller, modern home inspired by Scandinavian design (we’re from Denmark), and they completely understood our vision down to the clean lines, minimalist approach, and energy efficiency. Every step of the process felt collaborative. They were always transparent, always communicative, and genuinely cared about getting it right.
They told us the build would take between five and eight months — and they finished in six. There were no surprise costs, no excuses, just honest hard work and great organization. Our home is not only beautiful and solid, but it definitely feels like us.
It’s rare to find a builder who combines craftsmanship, fairness, and heart, but that’s exactly what we found in Nickelson Construction. We couldn’t recommend them more.

We had our mountain home built by Nickelson Construction, and honestly, we couldn’t be happier. It’s a smaller modern house in Scandinavian style, and they totally got our vision.
They were super easy to work with, always responsive, and great at explaining every step. What really stood out was their transparency on cost and timing — no surprise charges, no delays. They promised 5–8 months and finished in 6!
If you want a builder who’s professional, fair, and communicative, Nickelson is the one. Our home is solid, energy-efficient, and beautifully crafted.

Nickelson did an amazing job from start to finish with our big kitchen remodel! Clear and timely communication was important to us, and both Isaac and Stephen were excellent communicators. The budget and timeline were accurate, so there were no big surprises along the way. They set realistic expectations, were highly knowledgeable, and had very good attention to detail. The quality of work is absolutely stellar. I really have no complaints - any issues that arose were pretty minor and were promptly addressed. I would 100% recommend Nickelson for remodels and/or new builds; we hope to work with them again in the future!

Amazing construction experience. I am a former contractor and I will say Nickelson Construction was a fantastic choice. They are extremely thorough throughout the project and most importantly always updating on schedule and keeping us posted on progress. All of the sub contractors were extremely polite and engaging. And I could not leave out the lead supervisor Steve. He was amazing and very informative on any questions or concerns we had. I highly recommend Nickelson Construction.

Professional, creative, and highly responsive throughout the entire process. The design perfectly reflects our lifestyle, and the space feels both modern and comfortable. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Nice people

Highly recommended!

From the work I have seen produced and the straightforward communication with the owners, I have been nothing but pleased with my interaction with these fine homebuilders.

Excellent experience, very easy to work with! If quality is your number one concern then this is the builder you want! They didn’t rush through to get to the next job, and have great attention to detail! Just an all around quality builder, we will be using them for future builds for sure!

We can't thank you enough for helping us to complete our dream home! Thank you Robbins Contracting for taking the time to listen and understand what we wanted to accomplish in building our new home. We would highly recommend you to anyone looking to build the perfect dream home.

Robbins Contracting was just awarded Northern Colorado's "Builder of the Year." If you visit one of their model homes, you'll see why. Their attention to detail is unmatched in the fast-paced industry of Home Building. After doing business with Tyler Robbins this past year, it was easy for me to see how they separate themselves from the competition. Tyler is the type of guy who puts his shoes in the same box he bought them in - EVERY Night. And that's who you want to choose when building your home. For most people, it's the largest, single item purchase that you'll ever make in your life and you have to make the best choice for a builder. I highly recommend Robbins Contracting for building your home. It's an obvious choice, after you walk through one of their Model Homes. ~ John Massaro, Owner - Digital Print Resources, Ft. I have a unique position in that I am both a licensed residential contractor as well as an attorney practicing in construction related fields. I have previously served as President of the Northern Colorado Home Builders Association. With that background (and knowledge of the practices of many other builders), I am impressed with the quality and detail that Tyler, Dennis and their entire company place in every construction project they undertake. From initial concept to product delivery- small to large- they get it done. From a new addition/ remodel to a new custom home (if you can dram they can build it), this team of professionals delivers with integrity and true craftsmanship. I highly recommend their services to you.

My husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen, which was not going to be an easy task. We did a search on HomeAdvisor and Robbins Contracting came up. From that very moment to the very end, we were so glad that we decided to go with them. We felt very comfortable with them & they listened to what we wanted and they totally delivered! The kitchen turned out better than we had expected and beyond! The quality of work and craftsmanship was impressive. The contractors were very friendly, punctual and they finished the kitchen on time as scheduled! I would highly recommend Robbins Contracting for any job you want done....big or small!

Denny Robbins built our home 40 years ago in Loveland, CO. He did a phenomenal job then and am just reinforcing that I think he is first class.

Brought in Robbins Contracting to design the architecture for my river resort, and let me say—absolutely phenomenal. From concept to plans, they delivered with precision, vision, and a level of creativity that’s honestly hard to find these days.

I came in with a rough idea—they turned it into something straight out of a design magazine. Beautiful lines, smart use of space, and every detail thought through. It’s not just a building; it’s an experience now.

They listened, they adapted, and they pushed the design in the right direction without ever forcing anything. Total professionals. Communicated clearly, stayed on schedule, and treated the project like it actually mattered.

Robbins Contracting didn’t just draw up plans—they created a vision worth building. Five stars without hesitation.

Robbins Contracting exceeded my expectations in building my custom home! Their team was professional, attentive, and highly skilled. They listened to my ideas, provided valuable insights, and turned my vision into reality with top-quality craftsmanship. The project was completed on time, within budget, and the entire process was smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Robbins Contracting to anyone looking for a reliable and talented custom home builder. Five stars!

After working with Scott and Philip at Cutting Edge, I cannot recommend them enough. From start to finish they were incredibly knowledgeable, always on time and followed through on everything they said they would. Their communication throughout the job made everything run very smoothly and the workmanship speaks for itself, I highly recommend this father/son duo!

I have worked with Scott, Phil and their team numerous times, over the years. Without fail, they have provided me and my home inspection clients with top-flight construction and customer service. They are an honest, local small business that are one of the good ones, going above and beyond! Highly recommend!
