I scheduled an appointment with David Freel and he said he would be at my house at 8:30 this morning. At 8:40 I got a phone call from him telling me one of his electricians called out sick so he wouldn’t be able to make it today and would I like to reschedule.

I’m sure that electrician didn’t call out at 8:40 and if he did, David would’ve already been on site to give me the estimate on the job that he said he would. I understand things happen, but to not give me an early courtesy call felt very disrespectful.

He should have given me a call as soon as that electrician called out so that I could go to work because now I’ve lost 2 hours of pay to meet someone who didn’t even show up or give me the courtesy of an early phone call to let me know.

I’m not sure how his electrical work is but I know his professionalism could use some work.

Great quality work at a fair price. Its a shame all electrical(most of it anyway) is hidden from view because Dave and his licensed crew make what often looks like a rats nest of wires, look like a work of art. It takes talent, professionalism, and speed to get electrical work done to the quality and efficiency that Freel and Son Electric does. You wont be disappointed.

IN BRIEF: Lightning knocked out backyard electrical, including line to well pump for irrigation. Best prior estimate was $10k+ replacing a lot. Justin and company id'd the issues under 40 min and had us up and running under 2 hr for way less than $1k. My wife & I are very happy! *****

Freel & Sons did my outdoor landscape project in 2021. Progress of the outdoor kitchen was held up because Dave was often MIA. Dave sent different people to my house who were not briefed properly on expectations so they wound up wiring the project wrong. Poor communication through the entire project.

Trusted Dave completed the project when I was in the hospital and paid him in full. When I returned home I realized he missed steps. I've tried email, phone calls, even tracked him down at the Milford Pumpkin Festival to have him come back and fix their mistakes. He said "I'm too busy."

From the moment he arrived, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to help us. He quickly diagnosed the breaker issue and had it repaired within the hour—restoring our power and peace of mind the same night!

We recently hired Freel & Sons to install a generator switch panel. They were able to come out quickly and completed the job, which we appreciated.
However, the final invoice was $250 higher than the original quote. When we called to ask about the difference, we were told the job took longer than expected, which we understand can happen. We were also told they didn’t want to quote too high upfront because they were concerned we might choose another company.
While the team was friendly and we’re grateful to have our generator set up, we were disappointed with how the quote and billing process was handled.

We needed a new, very good generator. Dave Freel helped us in every way. He explained every option and the best choices based on what we wanted. He took a very long time with all assistance and friendly interaction. Then he made a new generator in place with all wiring in place. If you need a big job or not so big, this is the company. This is the people. They know everything and they do it right and they do it fast.

Noah and his work partners did an excellent job and completed their work on time to keep our kitchen project on schedule. They were very personable and made excellent suggestions when we had options on certain features. I would definitely recommend them.

I hired O'Keefe and Flanagan Electric to put a sub panel in my workshop. Andrew and Paul showed up on time, they were very polite and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after themselves and did a great job! I would highly recommend O'Keefe and Flanagan, everyone was great to work with and very quick to respond to my questions.

The staff and installers for our new heating unit were prompt, professional and efficient. They kept us informed of progress, cleaned up their debris and finished the job when anticipated. We are thrilled with the heating unit. It is quiet, responsive and doing a great job.

I’m really happy I got Porter in to do our solar with battery storage project. In rural Maine plenty of power outages and we did not want a propane generator for backup. We found Chris thru Energy Sage which got us I think six companies quoting the job. I also contacted two other companies. I did a lot of research found out what type and functions we wanted and went with Enphase solar FranklinWH storage and a Span smart panel. We got it down to two companies and found Porter provided what we wanted at the best price. Porter came in when they said they would and installed what they quoted. Two licensed electrician with two apprentices for two days. It came out great. Clean installation printed labels symmetrical looking layouts. With some of the issues presented to Chris one of his answers was well this is how its going to get done because its the right way to do it. I noticed he changed out some of my breakers the house was wired with some circuits sharing the neutral bringing it up to code which it should have been when house was built. It’s still very new with a bug or two. He’s responsive to these also. Go with Porter! Thanks Chris / Derrick and Kyle!

Chris Porter and his team at Porter Electric were excellent to work with. They worked with us to optimize a 10.2 kW system with 2 Enphase batteries for backup electricity. Outlaying a substantial initial investment, finding the right installer who is knowledgeable, and trusting the project would not run into unknown issues was a large concern for our family. From initial contact through the design and build process, Porter Electric exceeded our expectations. Communication was constant, thorough, and helped allay the concerns we may have had. Their work was efficient, and their crew was exceptionally clean with their work. They answered all of our questions and helped us understand everything about our system. After installation, we experienced a delay in meter installation through our electric supplier. However, Tara and the team of professionals at Porter Electric remained in contact with our electric supplier to keep our project moving forward. We are not only generating the power we use every day, but we are also returning to the grid the extra 30% we have been producing. We highly recommend Porter Electric for your solar and electrical needs.

I can't give enough positive feedback from my experience working with Chris Porter / Porter Electrical Contracting. I had been debating a solar array for a few years and contacted every dedicated solar company in NH and a couple outside the area to learn what I didn't know and educate myself on the process. Some were very "sales-y" others were pretty matter-of-fact, but I still got the "sales" vibe from most of them. When I called Porter, I had a very frank conversation with Chris about what I was hoping to accomplish and he was more than willing to take on the task. We ended up going with a HUGE 108 panel array and again I can't say more about how well the install went, and how satisfied I am with the outcome. Don't hesitate to contact, they are very down to earth and easy to work with!
