Evergreen Solar has been everything I could imagine and more. Between the communication and how quickly they are able to help us out by getting a new roof and soon to be solar panels is beyond impressive. Julio has been in contact with us through the entire process and even came to check to make sure the new roof met our expectations and to see the project progress. The fact they do all of this with zero down and will save us on electricity costs is going to be amazing.

Tremendous effort all around from Evergreen from Owner Patrick Sales Julio Project Manager Josh and Electrician Miguel the whole team was responsive and we felt well covered throughout the conversion. We did approach larger firms but very happy to have chosen a smaller, local New England firm with employees that actually are Solar owners themselves and can walk you through their experiences. I found that to be very helpful.

Our experience with Evergreen has been exceptional. All my questions were answered and the process was fully explained. I now have a new roof and 27 panels. I should be good for 30 years as their warranty indicates. The whole process only took two days; one for the roof and another for the solar panels. I'm currently powered by solar thanks to Evergreen.

I am very glad to have found and used Evergreen Solar for my solar installation last November. From the start of my vendor search to the present, they have been great. They patiently and always politely explained how solar worked, what to expect, and the pluses and minuses of my equipment options, and have been equally patient and comprehensive with my questions through the installation and after it. They linked me with references, and then lived up to their customers' enthusiastic reviews. Their bid was competitive with other vendors, and in some cases significantly lower. They hooked me up with the folks at Global Roofing, who have been similarly responsive and forthcoming. Everything is working fine thus far, including their most recent help with needed paperwork for my tax credit. I have been prepped to expect winter electric bills (no higher to date with new heat pumps than my gas bills used to be with a natural gas boiler), offset by electric credits in warmer weather.

I found Evergreen Solar online; they weren't known to the local advisors I consulted with during my initial vendor search. Their extremely high customer ratings they got from customers and , even more so, the reviews they received, convinced me to go with Evergreen. I'm happy to pass on the favor to future customers.

Adding solar panels to my home turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made—and the experience from start to finish was truly exceptional.

From the very beginning, Josh J. was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Every detail was explained clearly, and I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. What really stood out was the level of support—even when I had last-minute questions over the weekend, Josh J. was responsive, patient, and thorough in making sure I fully understood everything.

The installation process was just as impressive. The workmanship was clean, efficient, and completed faster than I expected, with great attention to detail.

From the beginning of the project, Evergreen Solar was a true pleasure to work with and I would recommend without hesitation. I reached out to several solar companies as I was searching for an option that would work for me at an affordable price and took time to meet and discuss with a number of them what my project might look like. Some companies were very difficult to get a hold of to even have a conversation about a potential project, others were not nearly as upfront in terms of getting the most bang for your buck by not simply loading up the roof and putting on panels that would not produce enough power to be worth paying to have installed, and the timeline was also an important factor given the changes implemented to the tax law regarding the solar tax credit. Evergreen met all the criteria and then some. They took the time to come up with a design and an array that looked great and would be as effective and efficient as possible. They made it clear that the project would be completed in time to take advantage of the tax credit. They were extremely competitive in terms of pricing for, by all accounts, very high quality equipment and technology. Financing was also extremely easy through their partner bank for the system. Throughout the process, Evergreen was very communicative and kept me in the loop about what steps would occur. Everything went extremely smooth to get the system up and running as quickly as possible and so far I have been very happy with everything! There was an issue with how the panels were reporting production in the app that the company came out immediately to resolve and now the reporting is working very well giving me a great overview of exactly how my system is doing in terms of production. Customer service could not be better and I am very happy with my decision to choose to work with Evergreen!

We began getting quotes in July 2025 and signed a cash agreement Sept 1 for an 8-panel system, later revising to include a 5kW battery. Sales was pushy due to tax credit timing, but pricing was mid-range and reviews seemed decent.

Install was scheduled for Nov 14 — no one showed. Missing parts. Rescheduled to Nov 24. Installers arrived late, visibly annoyed about the small job, and didn’t have materials for the battery backup as designed. They installed panels but left the battery sitting on the ground under a tarp I provided. No proactive communication — I had to chase updates constantly.

Dec 5–11 involved multiple return trips (ultimately nine site visits) to finish basic items: backer board, wiring, ground rods, debris cleanup, and inspection corrections. Blueprints submitted to the town didn’t even include the battery. National Grid paperwork was also wrong (12 panels listed instead of 8), delaying PTO.

Battery issues started immediately. It repeatedly dropped to 3–6% SOC overnight. Enphase found a reversed CT clamp and had to escalate support to stabilize it. It was DC-disconnected for safety at one point. I’m still monitoring it for potential premature failure after sitting at low charge in freezing temps for ~60 days.

On our first full sun day, I discovered the system is severely inverter-limited. My 440W panels were paired with IQ8+ (290W max) microinverters, clipping ~1.4kW of potential output. No one explained this tradeoff. A more appropriate inverter (IQ8A or IQ8H) would align with standard AC/DC sizing practices. I signed the paperwork, but expected competent system design.

To be fair, the on-site conduit work looks clean. But workmanship can’t offset poor coordination, repeated errors, lack of communication, incorrect paperwork, battery issues, and questionable system design.

Overall: frustrating, exhausting experience. I cannot recommend this company.

Edit: Senior management reached out to me the morning after this review was posted and offered to swap out the microinverters to appropriately rated ones for the panel output. I've upgraded this to 3 stars as a result, since they did ultimately do the right thing. The process for us was, however, still not overall deserving of a higher rating. Had they been as responsive before the negative review as after they wouldn't have gotten a negative review in the first place.

I just completed an ~11kW solar installation on my roof along with with a complete roof replacement with Evergreen. Incredibly positive experience with a project that looked a bit daunting at the outset (cost and complexity). Combining the roof replacement with the solar gave me the best value proposition by far compared to doing them separately (and I had 3-4 competitive quotes on each portion). The roof was a bit more complex as it involved a rubber portion and the replacement of 2 skylights. Still the pricing was excellent and the quality of the job was great (they got it all done in 1 day and the crew was very courteous and showed good attention to detail and cleanliness).

The solar installation followed on a bit later and was completed over 2 days. A few minor hiccups on staffing and scheduling, but mostly understandable. Inspections were completed without a hitch and proved to me the quality of the installation was high. Also, when they couldn't get the promised Hanwah 435W panels (due to unexpected tariff supply chain issues), they swapped them with more expensive JA Solar 440W panels for no additional charge.

In terms of the customer communication side, the sales rep was probably the weakest part of the experience. He needed to constantly go back to the internal team to get detailed questions answered and didn't listen all that well. I would rate the company 4.5 stars due to this, but once the project got assigned a project manager (Sean) this is where Evergreen really won me over. Clear, consistent communication, easy access to ask my questions(email, text or phone) and patience explaining the ins and outs of solar panel details and energy credits. Additionally, when I was frustrated with some of the scheduling changes, the owner of the company called me directly to make sure he understood my issues and made a point to get them addressed.

My system got turned on before the end of the year and am enjoying checking my production each day. Thanks Evergreen for being a great partner in enabling me to reach my goal to get residential solar!

Kyle was extremely knowledgeable and patient through the planning and design process. He did a comprehensive assessment of the solar potential of my house. He explained all of the financing options and gave me a full breakdown of costs and benefits. He was also able to set realistic expectations about the amount of energy I could expect to save.

Installation was also very smooth. The crew finished everything on time and kept the worksite very clean. The installers were also very professional. They were able to complete all of the work on their own and integrated the new system with my existing electrical system seamlessly. It was an effortless process from beginning to end.
