Reviews of local pros in Brandon, Florida

I recently had the pleasure of working with John from Tactical Stump Grinding, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service provided. John and his team did an excellent job at my home, not only grinding the stumps, cutting the trees (even did a few extra...no charge) but also going above and beyond by coming back to cut our grass.

John's professionalism was evident from start to finish. He was punctual, communicated clearly, and ensured everything was done to our satisfaction. His attention to detail and commitment to quality work truly set him apart.

I HIGHLY recommend John and Tactical Stump Grinding for any job, big or small. You won't be disappointed with their exceptional service and dedication. Thank you, John, for a job well done!

I highly recommend Tactical Stump Grinding! I contacted John about a stump left behind due to Milton and everything—from scheduling to pricing—was quick, clear, and professional. Just like the 267 other "five-star" reviews, my experience reflected the same themes: excellent communication, efficiency, and top-notch service.

I’ve known John for years, and long before this service call, he showed his true character. At the start of my late wife’s journey with ALS, when life felt overwhelming, John—then running a lawn service—quietly stepped in to mow my lawn on his own time and dime. At the time, I didn’t realize the true gift he was giving us: time. Over the next five years, he and his family continued to support us in many forms.

John runs his business the same way he lives his life—with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to helping others. I’m beyond grateful. Thank you, John!

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! They came out quickly, were incredibly professional, and got the job done right without any hassle. You can tell they truly care about their work and their customers. I couldn’t be happier with the service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for reliable, no nonsense help. Five stars all the way!!

I called John on a Wednesday evening and asked if he could come to my house and quote me for a removal of one(1) stump, in my backyard. He came by the very next day(Thursday), around 12:30pm. He not only quoted me... he started the job, on the spot ( once I accepted his quote). He was very meticulous with the grinding; covered part of the screened backporch with a board, and used his blower to blow out the dirt accumulated on the backyard porch floor. He also covered the hole where the stump was. I worked 28 yrs in the customer service sector, and I can spot good customer service when I see it. My mother and I were truly satisfied with John's work, an would recommend him to anyone. THANKS JOHN! And, now, on to building my backyard landscaping...😎

I hired Tactical Stump Grinding for a three stump job at my house. I explained to the owner that I was having a fence to be installed in a couple of days and needed the stumps removed before that time, if possible. They accommodated my last minute request, and completed the job quickly. They arrived on time, and finished quickly. I wasn’t able to be there when the job was completed, and when pictures were sent to me of the work, I couldn’t tell where they had worked, because the stumps were basically vanished, and the area completely smoothed out! He even removed a stump that I didn’t know was hiding behind my fence.

Would absolutely recommend this business and would recommend to my neighbors as well. Very professional and fast. Thank you!

John was a pleasure to work with. He was easy to communicate with - prompt responses that answered all of our questions and a quick confirmation of when he would be arriving again the day before service. He worked with us to get additional information required by our HOA outside of the standard insurance forms within the same day we got the request.

He and team were prompt and done in just a couple hours. We had a palm tree removed, one palm trimmed, and an oak trimmed. Would highly recommend Tactical Stump Grinding to anyone!

Can’t say enough about the great experience working with John! His communication from start to finish was incredible. Very knowledgeable and operates with integrity. Took down a giant Laurel Oak in my front yard quickly and safely. Top tier work.

These guys deserve 6 stars!! Emailed them on a Sunday to get a quote about grinding 2 stumps. Got a reply within an hour and he said they could come out the next day to quote and grind them. They showed up and got the job done and I couldn't be happier. Some companies take forever to call or even to come out but not Tactical Stump Grinding. Highly recommend them if you need a stump removed.

If you're looking for someone reliable, skilled, and honest, I 100% recommend John with Tactical Stump Grinding. This is the company you want for tough jobs done right. John took on a unique stump grinding project to level out a 10x20 area that other companies were hesitant to do—and he absolutely delivered.

From the start, John's communication was excellent. He took the time to inspect the site thoroughly and gave me honest, straightforward feedback about what to expect. His professionalism and attention to detail really stood out.

When it came time to work, John was on time, and he used his equipment with precision and skill, making sure the job was done right.

John exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or refer him to anyone needing quality stump grinding services.

The best company in Tampa! Communicated very well. On time and fast!! Tree was gone in 30 minutes. They cleaned up everything before they left it was like the tree never existed. 5 stars all around I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

A BIG Thank You to James Tactical Stump Grinding, LLC for coming out and getting two stumps ground out in our backyard. He answered the first time I called and followed up the next day just as he said. Reliable, affordable and great people! It’s hard these days to find dependable people to get the job done. If you have damage from the storms and stumps to be taken out, don’t wait and call them!!

John did a terrific job of pruning two avocado trees and grinding a stump. I will definitely keep him in my contacts and call him the next time I need tree trimming done.

Tactical stump grinding, showed up on time and ready to work. They removed my bamboo and medium tree safely and took great care to not harm the rest of the yard. We will definitely be calling them back when we're ready to do the other half. Thank you guys for your hard work and attention to detail.

I said yeah right "affordable". Well, John came out on a Sunday afternoon, gave me a very good/reasonable quote. Showed up on time, did an excellent job. Very respectful, ethical, and professional. Both John and James.

These guys removed a Chinaberry tree for me. They had it from tree, to no stump in 3 hours. Great pricing and quick service from quote, to the job being done. I would recommend them for anyone.

Both of the guys were very polite, friendly, professional, quick, cleaned up stump area, refilled the hole with dirt, give specific instructions on after care. We will diffently use them anytime we need stump or services they provide. There rates are awesome and lower and other companies.
They were on time, clean cut, no pants hanging low ( if you know what I am talking about).
They are 100% the company you want to do business with. And they are prior military, which of course is a huge bonus.
As you can see all 3 stump area's are filled and level.

Excellent work! Came out to see the job, had it cut and done in 24 hours. Very reasonable prices, would definitely do business with them again.
