Victor was great - maybe the first honest plumber I've ever met. He was very generous with his diagnostic time and when the warranty part we ordered , the control valve, didn't fix the heater, he was able to figure out what the problem was and get it fixed and still at a very fair price. Word up - if you buy an AO Smith water heater at Lowes, the 800 customer number in the owners manual is not AO Smith - its Lowes and they try to disallow your warranty and overcharge you for the part. Call Ferguson Supply, I got the correct AO Smith toll free number from them and the part free under warranty . also thanks to Victor's suggestion.
