Constraction reviews in Gulfport, Florida

This story starts somewhere in early 2014. Needed vinyl fencing across the front of our home to the property lines. (65 linear feet with 5' gate) James Johnston had just started his company: Native Green & Landscape. Used the best practices available for materials and workmanship. I told Jim that when we were ready to fence in the rest of the yard we would call him. Present day: 2/20/2026, called Jim and said we are ready for you to install the rest of the fence. Did not get any other bids. I prefer small companies and because Jim did such a professional job on the first install, I kept my word to have him back to finish the job. Again, the best materials (almost 200' with 14' gate), the best 3 man crew you could ask for and they let me watch..... 5+ stars

Native Green was fast, professional and excellent to work with. The installation process and the guys who did the work were efficient and went the extra mile for our back yard project. I shopped around Native Green provided the best quote and I never had to push or follow up to get their attention. Other providers were more expensive and I often had to push to even get the quote back. I never had to worry when dealing with Jim or his team. I will be using them again when it’s time to add more fencing in the front yard! Thanks guys, you were amazing and the finished product is gorgeous! I’ve already recommended them to my neighbor!

My son met Jim out on the same job site and gave me his information for fence. Jim was really accommodating to help me get project started. We have a beautiful view in our backyard but neighbors are collectors and I didn’t want to see their stuff and still wanted to see the water. Austin, Mitch and Dylan showed up to make this happen. The are a great team and truly enjoy each other and enjoy working together. They installed a very beautiful and sturdy fence that allows me to see the gorgeous view without seeing my neighbor’s yard anymore. Very happy!!!

Native Green installed a pvc fence for us which required working around an existing fence on each side of our house, one of which was slightly leaning. Austin, Mitch, Dylan and Jim did an excellent job working within those constraints and made it turn out flawless (in less than 2 days)! The fence is sturdy, as they dig down much deeper than most vendors to set the posts. We are so appreciative of their professionalism and the super quick turn around.

We were very happy with the fencing service from Native Green. From first contact, Jim responded quickly and produced an estimate by the next day. He sorted out permitting, and we were scheduled in very quickly. Austin, Mitch and Dylan did a great job, working round some tricky obstacles, and we are delighted with the end result. I would happily recommend them.

Great crew they worked so hard and got our fence up in no time at all. The team is hard-working, polite, and very informative when you ask questions. They cleaned up after themselves before they were done. The fence looks fabulous. We had them put a retaining wall so our dirt wouldn't wash away out of our planter that was installed and reinforced and looks amazing. Completely happy. The owner came out several times to check on the progress. Lovely group.
10/10 would recommend them for your fence needs.

We had a complete kitchen renovation and some additional work done in the summer of 2018. The job included plumbing and electrical among the trades. We weren't able to be onsite for almost all of the work period but the job turned out great! Our property has a very strict HOA and all of the work was accomplished without complaint. The worksite was kept clean and orderly. There were a few minor details when we returned at finish and all of the work was done promptly and to satisfaction. Pinellas Construction & Restoration and Mr. Steinmann are very conscientious and detail oriented and we are planning on using them on our future projects.

We were referred to Stephan through Prescision Garage doors to reframe our garage door opening because we wanted to go from 2 doors to a single opening 2 car garage. Our home was built in 1959 and is frame. This was no easy task. He was professional, thorough, detailed and responsive. He did an amazing job! Hoping to hire him again soon for other projects!

We recently had our condo refurbished - new kitchen & bathroom, new decoration and new Windows installed. Steve & Ryan did a great job along with their sub-contractors. The project was within budget and completed almost on time (went over by only 2 days due to delays with the Ikea Kitchen delivery)

My house had water damage under the flooring, so I had to take everything down to the concrete slab, rip out the kitchen, and try to get everything back to good. I contacted Pinellas Construction & Restoration to manage the job, letting the owner, Steve, know that I had already picked kitchen cabinets and had a tile contractor. Steve said he was OK subcontracting out parts of the job (including the floors) if I just needed him to manage permitting/oversee the project/do some of the work. I was extremely upfront with him and stressed that I wanted to do everything by the book. Again, he said he was OK with doing the work I had asked him to do as long as the contractors were licensed (they were). Steve made me wait over a week and a half to get his architect out for an evaluation. The day after I received his initial quote for the scope of work, we made some small adjustments. His scope of work was much larger than I had anticipated, but I was willing to pay for it to do things properly. When I told him that I'd go with the tile contractor like we initially spoke about to do only the tile portion, Steve abruptly quit on me, stating, "I made it a rule not to get involved in projects that are underway, and I am not willing to make an exception at this point". This was a complete 180 from his initial statements weeks earlier. He sent this to me after putting his quote together and going over how his work would fit in. Steve completely wasted my time and betrayed my trust at the last minute, while knowing that my wife and I are basically living on a concrete slab (and will be for the next few months) until progress is made. I would not recommend hiring this company at all. There are better contractors in the area who stick to their word and won't waste your time.

EDIT: On top of it all, when this negative review was posted, Stephan sent thinly veiled threats to tell the city that I did not have permits for my work! Besides being entirely dishonest, it is wholly unprofessional. Is this who you want working on your projects? Nope!

Steve & Ryan w/ Pinellas Construction & Restoration are incredible. We hired them to remodel a flip house we purchased in Broadwater & then a commercial building on Park St North and they are amazing. They work hard, are honest, impeccable work, show up when they say they will and both projects have turned out better than what we imagined. We will always hire Pinealls Construction for an future projects we may have!!

I recently purchased a new house; there were tile floors throughout that desperately needed leveled and replaced with new floors. Stephan came out to give me a quote on baseboard, and Luxury vinyl plank. Stephan was extremely nice and professional his quotes beat all the other competitors quotes. I was still living here during the transition and the work area was very clean and non cluttered, i would HIGHLY recommend Pinellas Construction & Restoration. Thanks again Stephan! I LOVE THE FLOORS!!!! :)

Pinellas construction did a fantastic job on our project. We’re first time homeowners and Stephan and his son were incredibly patient and kind to us with all of our 10,000 questions. We got a few quotes and their estimate was fair and honest. Once the project began they met every deadline, and explained every step of the way.

We will absolutely be using Pinellas construction for every job we have. Very pleased!

Steve and Ryan were wonderful, their attention to detail made our remodel an awesome experience! Highly recommend them, very professional and a pleasure to work with on our kitchen remodel.
