I bought a brand new home and this hot water heater has not worked for eight months. It is a totally inferior product I would never buy one. And when I called the store owner he was rude to me on the phone and hung the phone up on me. Both heating coils burned out and I've lived here for 7 months. This is the worst product that should be taken off the market and definitely not sold by Home Depot I'm calling the Attorney General because I'm so upset it's such a bad product. Don't ever buy one of these

Our water heater stopped working and we noticed it was leaking. I called them in the morning and by the afternoon, they had someone at my house with a new upgraded unit (ours was out of warranty) to install. And we got a discount for giving our old water heater. Barcelo was very helpful and I would recommend them to anyone.

This company is extremely rude and unhelpful. If you buy one of their IHeat hot water heaters, they are happy to sell you the unit but the service ends there. If you try to order parts, they tell you to bring your hot water heater in so they can tell you what parts you need. Yes, because everyone knows how to safely unhook and reinstall a hot water heater! Don't buy their products unless you're a plumber because you won't get any service once you need parts or repairs. Frank Martos is the employee you don't want to deal with. He is very rude and not at all helpful!

STAY AWAY! HORRIBLE COMPANY! the reviews your reading are true! This company does NOT stand behind there product. The guy that answers the phone for the service Dept is as rude as they get. It is true , they will ask you to remove the heater and bring it to them . It doesn’t matter if you are 5 miles or 500 miles away.
We have a tankless heater that is 15 months old and stopped working. They made it clear, but parts and fix it.
Do yourself a favor, DO NOT BUY THIS EQUIPMENT! I’ve been in the business for many many years and would not recommend this company of equipment to anyone. Buy Rheem. Much better warranty and their customer services is helpful, professional and polite, unlike this place. Companies like this need shut down.

Ordered a part for my hot water heater and paid extra for 2 day air. At this point, we are going on two weeks and I still do not have it. I have contacted them multiple times about this and they basically just tell me tough luck and it’s out of their hands. Mind you it is a mental of winter and my hot water heater is broken. Directly on their site on my order, it says to contact them if my order does not arrive within two days. Which is what I did. They just tell me it’s the carriers’s fault and they are not going to do anything and they are responsible for it. I paid them for the shipping. Not the carrier. They then bought a label from the carrier on their UPS account. I cannot file a claim on their UPS account with the carrier. Now that my package is missing, I have no way to receive it or a refund. Directly on their website, it says to contact them about a replacement or a refund if there are delays or loss packages. Which is what I did. Terrible service

Water heater caught on fire but luckily didn't burn my house down. Called customer service who requested pictures and we went through the run down about the wiring set up which was correct. I was told to just buy a new one.

If you check Drakken and iHEAT’s Google and other reviews you will see many other customers echoing exactly what I’m about to also tell you.

I purchased an S14 on the advice of Pedro, one Drakken’s customer service guys in Miami, to replace my previous iHEAT unit.

I purchased the unit from Amazon.

In less than 30 days the heating elements simply stopped heating! You can clearly see this from my video documentation in which the heater was set at between 122 and 125 degrees but won’t heat past 109 degrees and wouldn’t hold the temperature setting even at that tepid temp.

When I contacted the company multiple times they fully admitted TWICE to knowingly selling defective heaters. Wow.

They said the only thing I could do was to pay to uninstall it, drive it to Miami, have them patch it back together, drive it back home and pay someone to reinstall it once again. And if that didn’t work, pay someone once again to uninstall it, take a new, possibly defective unit and pay someone else to reinstall that one as well, and so on and so on.

The obvious problem with this policy is that they are basically asking you to pay for a brand new heater that THEY KNOW IS POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE, then having to either risk the same problem happening after repair or bring back a new replacement from the same manufacturer of the defective units.

All while paying for multiple separate plumber and electrician installation fees that they will not cover one cent of. In total, I lost almost $1000 installing, uninstalling and reinstalling heaters because of this company.

When I tried to explain this to them, they could care less. And they have refused to reimburse any of the cost that they are 100% liable for based on the fact that they are knowingly selling defective heaters that require professional installation.

At this time they still have refused to remove the faulty units from the shelves or warn customers, or offer any type of reimbursement for the hundreds of dollars of installation fees that many of us are paying for no reason.

I told the company that knowingly selling customers defective items, then forcing them to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to uninstall and reinstall defective units without any other option is grounds for a class action lawsuit and they didn’t seem to care about that either.

I switched from Amazon to Home Depot and also switched to a Rheem unit and I’m very happy with it.

Hopefully a class action will resolve the problems faced by so many of their formerly loyal customers like myself.

I’ve seen many other complaints of an exact same nature here and elsewhere and I’m hoping that somehow we can all band together and that a class action lawsuit will follow so that all of us can get our hundreds or thousands of dollars back that we spent in good faith not knowing we were purchasing and installing a knowingly defect heater that the company *knows* doesn’t work.

I will be contacting some consumer advocate television colleagues as well as a construction defect attorney and will update the information here for anyone else who was ripped off by this company and is trying to get back their hundreds or thousands of dollars lost due to this company’s illegal behaviour. Stay tuned…

Also, iHEAT: please DON’T BOTHER trying to post some silly, disingenuous response to this review because I have written documentation of every single thing I’ve said here. Also, you never responded to my last email requesting reimbursement for the faulty unit installation costs. So there’s no need to post a fake response here either.
