Highland Lakes has used Lapensee for many years to care for our commercial pool and are very satisfied. Their lead George always insures things are happening right. Great service, reasonable price.

For all the years we used LaPensee Pools for our pool maintenance, George was indispensable. I could always rely on him to communicate with me and to report problems to the company. George keeps it all running smoothly. I was grateful for all he did for us.

George, the pool maintenance supervisor, has been a life saver for me and my properties pool on Holmes Beach.
Anytime I have an issue with pool techs not doing their job, I call George and he fixes the problem immediately.

Pool evaluation. Had a man come out to the house, was easy to schedule via email to get an eval and quote for maintenance. They were very professional and informative. They definitely earned our business.

First, for accuracy’s sake: your team was initially contacted for routine pool maintenance—not a cleanup. The $200 “cleanup fee” was only introduced after your team assessed the pool, and we agreed to it as part of the contract, assuming it was a prerequisite for monthly service. However, the condition of the pool at that time did not warrant such an upsell.

We agreed to the $200 cleanup and the $175 monthly maintenance fee expecting professional, consistent service. What we got instead was inconsistent visits, no visible chemical adjustments, no communication about chemical imbalances, and no proactive solutions offered.

Contrary to your claim, no one in our household was ever informed—verbally or in writing—that high salt levels were an issue. If that truly was the problem, your technician should have provided documentation or at least a clear explanation. That never happened.

Your recommendation to drain the pool came after we had already treated recurring algae ourselves—and only six months after the pool had already been drained due to storm damage. This suggestion felt like a default response, not a well-thought-out solution based on proper testing.

When your team became unresponsive, we turned to Pinch A Penny, who did test the salt levels—and found them normal. They also confirmed zero chlorine, which validates our concerns. After following their guidance and treating the pool ourselves, the issue was resolved without draining. That’s not “masking”—that’s effective treatment.

As for your attempt to discredit the review by suggesting it was submitted by someone other than the homeowner: I am the person who contacted you, authorized the service, and handled the payments. The "unpaid balance" refers to a service we canceled after poor performance and lack of response. I see no reason to pay for something that failed to deliver on its core promise—keeping the pool in usable condition.

Lastly, your service resulted in hundreds of dollars in extra costs to us, which could have become thousands had we followed your late recommendation to drain the pool again. Thankfully, we didn’t.
I stand by my original review. Communication was poor, service was ineffective, and accountability was lacking. Future customers should be aware.

LaPensee Plumbing and Air has, over the years, helped me upgrade my condo with a new air conditioner, toilets and faucets and recently cleaned my a/c coils and ducts with sanitation. My home's air quality has been greatly improved! I have always appreciated LaPensee's great quality service.

George Babcock of your pool division has given us outstanding service over the many years we have been customers of LaPensee. From maintaining pool chemistry to repairing equipment and having pool leaks repaired, he has responded with rapid and professional service. I sure am glad you have him on your staff.

Highly recommend LaPensee Plumbing for any plumbing needs. They had to rerun many of the plumbing lines, ran new lines to an outdoor shower and installed all new toilets, kitchen & bath faucets, shower and bath fixtures and a new laundry tub. The are neat, professional and made for an easy appliance installation. They were recommended to us by a neighbor and we have recommended them to others.

Rolland was the technician who came to the house and he was great, he's very thorough and communicates very clearly regarding the issue and fixes. He was very knowledgeable and very patient with answering a lot of questions. The office personnel who answered the phone and scheduled the appointment was great too, she understands the business very well in addition to having great customer service skills. Thank you for coming out so quickly as well!
