Cindy is excellent.
In retrospect, the AC compressor failed a few hours after she left.
Will be requesting the logs from her maintenance and have them reviewed by an outside HVAC expert as I am being told by David Gray this is a "random" occurence in a less than 2 year old AC.
Also told that the Coils would not be cleaned on one of our other outdoor units this time, despite cleaning being something we explicitly pay for through a maintenance plan.
I hope they decide to make this right and replace the compressor, so I can return this to a five star rating. -
I purchased a home last month I was referred to them when my AC unit went out. The tech came out “fixed it”, sold me a maintenance plan because the drain line needed cleaned out and that would cost more than a maintenance plan alone. Next day my AC went out again, but this time my air filter was completely soaked. I called back and let the receptionist know and she informed me we can’t send anyone out until August for any maintenance services. I called back and talked to another associate who dispatched it as a recall since it stopped working so obviously the problem wasn’t fixed. Same tech arrives and says the same thing and cleans drain line and calls office to say this is a forced maintenance not a recall. Then 3 days later the AC stops working again over the weekend and they said we will send out a senior technician between 6-11pm on Monday. Monday evening a technician calls about 7:30PM and decides that he’s not going to come because the last technician said there was low voltage and he doesn’t know anything about that stuff and I’ll put you on schedule first thing tomorrow morning. We don’t have a senior tech on the schedule he’s took today off so don’t know why they scheduled it. Next morning I call to confirm we have someone coming out and I get no we can send a tech out tonight after 6pm. I asked to speak with a manager which was an act of congress to get one on the phone I had to explain everything and was on hold twice before the manager decided my call was worthy. I was told that I was just an unlucky duck in this situation and the techs work long shifts in the heat so I do apologize he didn’t come out but that’s it. I told them I’ll use Buehler another company as I was frustrated by this point. Buehler came out in 1 hour and found a wire burned up nearly severed connected to the capacitor and that’s been the issue. David Grey misdiagnosed it, sold me a maintenance plan and recommended a blower motor which was operating just fine and charged me $435 and never fixed the issue. Since Buehler came out our AC has worked with no issues over a week now. I would avoid David Grey at all costs and even after speaking to management they’ve lost me as a customer. I won’t even trust them to do any maintenance plans that I purchased. I rather chalk it up as a loss and move on. I just don’t want anyone else to have to experience that poor service all around.

Pictures are attached. Does the unit function? Yes. But, if details matter, then I would say run. The decibel reading is for my condensing unit, 24ACC436A003, which Carrier claims as low as 72. Really to bad, because David Gray was great to use for Plumbing and Electrical.

I almost never leave reviews, but my experience with this company has been so upsetting that I feel it needs to be shared.
In my experience, the service has been unacceptable. I’ve been without AC for 14 days after buying a very expensive unit from them just last year. I first called on July 31. It’s now August 13, and my home is still around 85°F every single day. I had to purchase my own portable units because none were offered, even though I know they’ve done this for other customers before.
I work from home and have two dogs. The heat has been relentless, and the stress is constant. Every time I’ve called, I’ve left feeling dismissed and without real answers. A technician came, ordered one part, then a week later another tech said a different part was needed. Since then, I’ve had to chase updates daily. The few times I get an answer, it’s vague at best.
From my perspective, the lack of urgency and communication during a situation this uncomfortable has been devastating. This has been the most frustrating service experience I’ve ever had. -
Previous owners of house hired DG. They installed an expensive Carrier system. When we lost heat in freezing temps I had to call somebody else out to service it because David Gray couldn’t make it out in time. Turns out the problem is because of insufficient and shoddy ductwork, and they want me to pay them just to get a quote for what they would charge to fix their mistake. My experience: poor work, no pride, high price, no follow through, and customer-hostile support.

David grey HVAC has to be the worst HVAC company in Jacksonville. Not only did we have a 6 month install with issues and incompetence at every single turn, but are still consistently having issues with our entire system. Multiple employees were fired because how poorly they worked on our house, and I’m still waking up to 66 when set to 72 auto. They left my house dirty with insulation on many occasions I would not recommend or trust this company for anything, not even to know right from left. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Called David Gray for an electrical issue as my Pep-Tank wasn’t functioning.
FGUA came out first to determine it was a problem with power to the control panel.
A rusted wire at the breaker was the issue.
The tech (Adam) was great and fixed the problem.
Here’s the bad news:
Their price to fix the problem was north of $1,500. I was a bit shocked as I was told that their labor rate was $400/hr. And that he needed to drive to the supply house to get the replacement part during which time the $400/hr rate would also apply.
With the urgency of the sewer backing up in the house, I made the mistake of approving the quote as he left for the supply house. In the meantime, I did some research and learned that the average labor rate for a licensed electrician in Florida is $75/hr.
Turns out that David Gray, once a family owned business, was recently bought out by a larger firm which then increased the rates/prices - Lesson Learned!!
Hope that sharing this experience prevents others from getting hosed like me!
It was a simple repair that any licensed electrician could have done for a small fraction of the $1,500+ that I paid.
Next day follow up:
Received detailed invoice (photo attached)….they charged $223.88 for a 30amp breaker switch- almost a 1000% mark-up for this $30 part!
How does a company like this stay in business? -
I called David Grey for a lighting fixture replacement 2 weeks ago. The technician came out (Tyler) and gave quotes for Everything BUT what I needed him for. I called David Grey back and asked for a quote for just the outside light and was told I would get a call back during the week from a manager for this quote. After 1 week, still no call or email quote. I called AGAIN explaining the same issue and what I needed. I was told no one was in the office to give quotes and told me to call the main number until someone answered.
Longer story short. I fixed the light with my 13 year olds help.
I don't understand the issue with David Grey during this time, but they were great for prior electrical needs. For this I paid for a quote I never recieved. It was a Waist of money and headache.
Right now, I Don't see myself ever using them again.
