Ryan, the owner came out to my home and gave me an estimate for $23,000 to redo parts of my yard. When we met I was clear that I wanted them to be responsible for any damage to the outside lighting as we had spend allot on it. His team arrives as planned and in 2 days competed the project. After they left I realized that many of the lights did not work. After communication back and forth with threats of leans and a terrible attitude from him, I realized they would not fix what they had damaged. I paid the bill but want to warn everyone that you need to deal with this company carefully or not at all.

It is impossible to overstate how pleased we are! Tropical Gardens made a beautiful layout for our landscaping, then did an excellent job communicating with us. The crew that did the work was experienced, efficient and professional. They explained what they were doing each step of the way. Owner Ryan Empey was there to make sure we were happy. We were. We are! We recommend them without hesitation.

After interviewing several landscaping companies in Sarasota, we decided to work with Tropical Gardens. To be clear, my decision was not driven by price, it was driven by their excellent record of providing excellent customer service to their clients, flexibility and ease of doing business. Ryan and his team were great to work with, very professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. At no time did I feel I was being sold a bill of goods. In fact, Ryan was very sensitive to my budget and made several suggestions that reduced the original proposal approximately 20% but still delivered a great result. I would strongly recommend Tropical Gardens Landscape for whatever your landscaping needs are without hesitation.

We couldn’t be happier with Tropical Gardens, from Ryan, Adrienne, Isaac, and installers! They are very professional and easy to work with! Ryan listened to what our thoughts were and designed a beautiful landscaping plan. Isaac (the project manager) made some recommendations while doing the work that made it even prettier! He really takes a lot of pride in his work! Any communications with Adrienne in the office were so pleasant and she kept us updated on our project! I had Tropical Gardens come out to my house 3 years ago for a sod replacement quote. Previously, I had been replacing my sod every couple of years and wasn't informed on why, until Ryan came to my property for a consultation. I was informed as to proper water requirements and the need for supplemental Fertilization. My "lawn guy" just kept telling me it needed to be replaced. After an extensive quote of revising my irrigation system for better coverage and a fertilization/pest control program along with the sod replacement, I finally bit the bullet and let them take on this project. From the office staff, to the project manager and all of the different crews performing the project, I couldn't have been happier with this company. I have now had the best lawn in my entire neighborhood for over 3 years and have them back twice a year to install my annual flowers and mulch replenishment.
If you are on the fence, no need to second guess, they are the best!

Tropical Gardens is a fantastic company with friendly and knowledgeable service people, high quality products and a very responsive back office. You get what you pay for and this company is worth paying for because you will be very happy with the results.

We hired Tropical Landscape to re-work our entire front yard With the exception of a few large palm trees, it was a blank canvas. Ryan came out to do the initial consultation and was quick with the turn around time for our plan. He listened to what we wanted a put together a great plan and worked with our budget to give us the look we wanted. A few weeks later Issac and his team came to do the installation and again, we were very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work. The house was new to us and so there was a lot of unknown issues with the irrigation system. Ryan and Issac worked with their irrigation team and fixed all of the issues and still completed the job on time.

We hired Tropical Gardens after being completely dissatisfied with our prior maintenance company. We had weeds everywhere, lawn looked terrible, plants were struggling, pitch apples were not being cut properly, etc. After one week, the property looked better. We put together a plan to replace some sod, new plants, etc. The property has never looked better. They are great at communicating, they are inspecting the property weekly to make sure the lawn and plants are doing well. I have recommended them to several friends already.

I had Tropical Gardens do a complete redesign of the front of my property. Ryan, Isaac and the crew were great to work with - creative design by Ryan, and great installation by Isaac and the guys. The crew was responsive and friendly, and worked together seamlessly. The office staff is terrific, too- I look forward to working with Tropical Gardens in the future.

Tropical Gardens Landscape was fantastic to work with to re-landscape the front of our house. The office staff is super friendly. Ryan met us and really listened to what we wanted. He came back with a design and proposal that was fantastic. After we accepted the proposal, they had us on the schedule and the work completed within a few weeks. It looks FANTASTIC. Our neighbors and people driving or walking by have complemented their work a ton. I would use this company again in a heartbeat.

Everyone always asks about price.

Tropical Gardens isn't who you call if you want something done "cheap". They are more expensive than a some of the other companies or individuals who claim to be landscapers and irrigation specialists.

We've had entire garden beds around the property, that were planted and cared for by others die.

Tropical Gardens came in, addressed the soil conditions, the irrigation challenges, explained why the plants that were previously planted were wrong for the sun, soil and location on the property. They fixed the issues as well as the vegetation and we haven't had an issue since.

To me, that ends up being less expensive & more rewarding in the long run.

So regarding price... For the quality of the work they provide, I continue to have them care for our property and wouldn't trust anyone else.

We have been using Tropical Gardens for over a year now and have always had a great experience. After Hurricane Milton though I would like to give a huge shout out to them. We had left our house for maybe an hour and when we returned the crew had already cleared all the yard debris we had (which was ALOT)

We are truly grateful for such a hardworking and professional company to help us through these difficult times. Feeling thankful is an understatement.

A+ sums up Tropical Gardens. We hired Ryan and his team to do a total renovation on our landscaping. Their blueprint/plan were excellent. And the process was easy. The crew is top notch. High quality work, attention to detail, hardworking and courteous. We highly recommend them. And will use them for ongoing property maintenance.

Tropical Gardens destroyed our beautiful lawn. Went away on vacation and when we came back it was black. Other landscape companies we talked with thought we had a fire!!! Tropical gardens attempted to resolve with more fertilizer but only got worse. After complaining, they dropped us as a client and said they couldn’t meet our expectations. All we wanted was a somewhat green lawn, not a black one. Stay away from these guys…very disrespectful and arrogant. I agree with some of the other one star reviews. How in the world are they getting 5 Starr reviews?

The work done by Tropical Gardens is just beautiful. Our experience was outstanding. Creative, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. We look forward to working with them again in the future!

Ryan and the entire Tropical Gardens team was outstanding during our year-long $150k project. From a thoughtful design process, to a conscientious field crew, to the efficient front office, to patience with field changes, and the perseverance to work collaboratively as we navigated Sarasota County’s opaque Canopy Road regulations, the entire TG team were true professionals. There are many imposters in the landscaping business - however Tropical Gardens is the real deal.

Tropical Gardens were wonderful. They did the complete design and chose the most beautiful plants that complimented each other. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.
