8/15 AM -We hired Critter Ridge for a landscaping project that was over $40K. The project included installing an irrigation system. Now the system isn't working. I called them and they gave me the name of an irrigation company and said I needed to call them. Long story short, I have invoices from Critter Ridge for the irrigation system and the the company they gave isn't responding to emails or phone and Critter Landscaping isn't replying to follow-up emails on the matter. Also, be careful on their landscape plan for your yard, they will sell and sell until you have a jungle and are spending dollars and time maintaining it.

8/15 PM - in reply to Critter Ridge's response, they initially said that they would help if I couldn't get a hold of the irrigation person. I left 3 voice messages and one email over a month and didn't get a reply (from the company they used or worked with to install it) so I reached out to Critter Ridge and then they ghosted me until I posted my review. So, Idk. I get they didn't do the work but they billed me. I was hoping to get a schematic which I never received of where the valves were placed or a maintenance call. I guess I need to find a company that has equipment (?) to locate the valves and go from there.

Funny that I haven't gotten any response via email in 2 weeks, but it only took a few hours for them to respond to a Google Review.

Recently had some landscaping done by Critter Ridge. They were friendly and very professional. The crew was carefully supervised during the entire two day job. The plantings they recommended look great, I highly recommend Critter Ridge.

Critter Ridge just installed my Beautiful landscaping, they did a fantastic job! I met with Steve Nielsen the owner and discussed what I was looking for in the design. He listened and implemented everything I was looking for and he went above and beyond my expectations. The entire crew including the office staff were friendly and very knowledgeable throughout the process. I would highly recommend them.

Where do I even start? We hired Critter Ridge in 2007 when we remodeled our home. Beautiful work, fair and honest. Fast forward to 2023. We had local people doing maintenance and the yard (almost two acres) looked super tired.
Steve came back out and drew up a great plan (again!), prices were bid out and date to start was given. Mora in the office kept us updated as to any delays….we all know that happens with Mother Nature and landscaping projects!
Tom and his crew were phenomenal! They never sat still even while waiting for extra deliveries….once they started our project we realized how much more needed to be done! 😳

Critter Ridge Landscaping did a wonderful job installing a very large boulder and various plants and trees in our landscape. They were punctual, professional and cleaned up after they were finished! Besides the landscaping, they also installed a synthetic putting green in my backyard that looks and acts like real grass! Now only if I can make more putts but that’s on me, not them! Highly recommend this company!

We’ve been using Critter Ridge for over 10 years for landscape design; planting of shrubs, ornamentals, and trees; and general advice on our property and landscaping issues. 3 Months after installation of our new landscaping, Critter Ridge continues to provide outstanding support for their work. A few plants didn't make it, and CR came out immediately, assessed the situation, and fixed everything. We could not be happier.

We hired Critter Ridge to design and deliver landscaping for our home. We relied on Steve's experience and vision to create a plan for us, and we could not be happier! The project was completed ahead of schedule, and executed very well. We did have a few minor issues, but CR followed up very quickly and fixed everything. We highly recommend.

Critter Ridge did an outstanding job of designing and installing a new landscape at our house. Scott was knowledgeable and creative, and the staff was courteous and efficient. In addition, after Hurricane Milton blew down three trees, they came out and re-staked them. We highly recommend Critter Ridge.

Nice job on planting but pretty much destroyed my landscape lighting.
Update: when they found out about the lighting issue they promptly called to schedule a fix.

We used Critter Ridge for a landscaping update at our house and are glad we did. We liked their plan, and the end result looks great. We would definitely use them again.

The need was to update both the front and back yards at our house -- to add some color and clean things up a bit. We asked three companies for options, and they all submitted proposals in the $10-15K range. Critter Ridge was the middle of the three on price, but we liked their proposal the best and the people seemed very nice. They proposed a plan that used 75% of the existing plant material, but added some new plants for color and moved things around to improve the lines. After living with the new landscaping for about a month now, we couldn’t be happier with the end result.

Since they’re a top provider they’re pretty busy and scheduling was about 2 months out, which was fine with us. The job took about three days to complete, with a few odds and ends being cleaned up a day or two later. They did everything we asked, and even did a few extra things just to make it look even better. Plus, they were great to work with, making sure that we were 100% satisfied with the job and addressing every concern. I highly recommend Critter Ridge.

I interviewed several landscape contractors to completely re-do my backyard. Ultimately I decided on Critter Ridge. Although they were not the least expensive bid I received, I could just tell that the owner knew his stuff and I did not want to pick the wrong company to work on my home. Steve came out several times to address my wishes and concerns and was so patient with me. Ultimately, I trusted his plans and suggestions, and I am so happy I did. Their work transformed my backyard to a beautiful oasis and every person who sees it comments on what a beautiful backyard I have. I am so pleased, I have contracted with them again to work on the front yard. I highly recommend Critter Ridge.

Critter Ridge designer, Scott, as well as demonstrating a thorough knowledge of tropical plants and an understanding of how to assemble them to create a beautiful design, contributed a couple of key ideas to shape the design. One was to note the West Indies style of our house and then choose plant material that was compatible with that style, an approach that had not occurred to us. The other insight was to utilize space in the common area that abuts our yard to bring in plants that would enhance the design. In this way, he was able to create a somewhat symmetrical "gateway" of palms and other plants to provide an aesthetically pleasing entrance for the driveway.

The installation of the plants and hardscape went well. Tom and his crew were outstanding, hardworking, conscientious, and aiming to please. The very talented pavers the company contracts with initially had trouble matching the driveway pavers, but Scott was able to find the perfect match. The resulting pathway is beautiful, and the transition from the driveway absolutely seamless.

Critter Ridge is understandably very busy, so we had to wait a little longer for our garden to be installed. But it was well worth it. We couldn't be happier with the results. Bottom line: Critter Ridge is a sterling company well deserving of five stars and then some.

I was very impressed when I observed Steve individually pruning the existing shrubs next door to complete the look of the project they were doing for the house across the street and knew that is the kind of company that appreciated and performed quality landscaping services.

When Scott, the designer met with me to observe my artistic renderings of what I envisioned and found them to be helpful to put the best suited plants to implement my ideas, we had an ideal relationship. I was totally pleased, even as we modified from the drawings slightly, to add a few more palms. Scott and Tom and the crew have gotten my wife and I more compliments, from neighbors walking or driving by, that shows the neighborhood appreciates the level or workmanship and design.
