Sarasota tree has done multiple jobs for me over the past 2 years including tree removal and trimming, mangrove trimming, stump grinding and root pruning/barriers. Pricing is very competitive and work is always prompt and professional.

I am very happy with the care this company took to not butcher my trees.
They offer an organic service and palm food to protect our land and waters.

Called and left message - waited 2 days for call back. No return call. Called again, woman said she didn't know how to work her phone to retrieve messages. She said someone would be out in 2 days for my estimate, and she would contact me. No one showed as promised. Called again, woman said we were on the schedule and didn't know what happened. Then, she said he'd be out within the next 2 days for sure. Never showed. Also, left message for owner - no call back. Gave up - very unprofessional - would never recommend. Update: 5 years later, they responded to my complaint.

We live on Venice Island and have very tall live oak trees with branches overhanging our house at about 45 feet. These limbs badly needed trimming before another storm approached (and Helene did that!). The benefit of an arborist vs. a tree trimmer is remarkable. An understanding of the trees "balance", the need to do trimming as required but to come back in a year or two to keep ahead of the problem demonstrated what is needed to save our live oaks.

Reasonable prices and great work. The team removed a large oak, trimmed up branches from other oaks hanging out over the pond in back, and took out a diseased palm. Clean, efficient, on time and conscientious. I will definitely use them again.

Hurricane Ian caused a maple tree to fall against our roof. We called Island Tree service and they came out shortly. Scott assessed the situation and was very professional and knowledgeable. We agreed to have him do the work and were extremely pleased with the results. He and the crew were very kind and helpful in this rather scary situation. We will continue to use them for our tree needs in the future.

Scott did an excellent job removing our pygmy palm. He was very professional and very pleasant, when speaking to us.
We plan on using them in the future.

Last year they helped me nurses a shady lady runt from an eyesore to the star of my land. Unfortunately, the hurricane left it at a 45 degree angle, hanging by its roots. I called to see if the tree could be salvaged or not. I got a message that someone would come in a couple of days. That was weeks ago, and my phone calls are not being returned. Great knowledge, friendly folks, but very spotty service. Will not use again because in an emergency they cannot be counted on to do as little as call and cancel. What a pity. One-hit-wonder perhaps.

Added 3/23/2024 The company never replied, not even a phone call. Over a year later all they did was post a belated and not-completely-true 'excuse' in order, in my opinion, to boost their online presence. Lack of integrity merits a lost star. Of course, they might have inquire as to if the tree survived. I found another company to do the work promptly, at a lower cost. They too dropped the ball, but on follow-up. I guess it's a hazard for the consumer. Beware tree companies, in general.

To Island Tree Service: Please do not further sully your reputation by replying again. You made an error. Own it.

This company is great. They trimmed back several large branches over my roof. Was fun to watch them rope the branches out so carefully. Went perfectly. They even blew out my gutters when they were cleaning up. Would highly recommend.

Crew showed up on time with the owner of the business in charge. Owner reviewed the work with the crew. Crew proceeded to do an excellent job and did not damage my expensive vinyl fence or anything else. They trimmed more of the dead wood off a very tall slash pine than I expected which was great. They safely removed branches over utility lines. They took out dead slash pine branches hanging over the canal. They raked up twigs in my front lawn & removed them. Crew worked in a coordinated manner and were very professional, no yelling or shouting. The owner held to the quoted price. He always thinks about saving trees, not destroying them.

Island Tree Service just finished tree removal and trimming at our house and we were pleased from the first phone call to the end of the job. Jodi is so helpful on the phone and in person and Scott Fey is fantastic. They run efficient, professional, timely crews- I will highly recommend Island Tree Service and use them again for all our needs.

A year later I changed it to a 1 Star review when I requested another estimate which I did not receive .

I now see a response that an estimate and follow up email may have been sent. Possibly. I have been managing accounts and production for a long time, and I know curious oddities do occur. I also know good communication/follow up vs not so good...

I write reviews to help businesses and/or to help customers. I really like these folks so I’ll settle this review at 4 Stars based on the good work done; and hope other concerns were random snafus and/or lessons learned.

Russell led his 4 person crew in the removal of 4 diseased oak trees from our property. They worked together so well as a team-- each person doing their job with skill and outstanding energy.

We highly recommend Sarasota Tree Service to anyone needing professional advice in evaluating then completing services agreed upon in a timely manner.

I have been using Island Tree Service for over five years. Scott Fey and his crew come on time and perform the work previously agreed upon at the price also previously agreed upon after the initial consultation. They clean up beautifully afterward.

Scott is very knowledgeable and thorough. He did not try to "up sell" me on the job, but gave very solid advice and what was best for all of the trees in the yard, not just the one I called about. When he came out for the estimate he asked, "Is there anything else you would like me to look at while I"m here?" He gave me good advice on things I can do to improve the overall health of the landscaping beyond just the work he and his crew did. Highly recommend!

Repeat customer. They did some tree removal, trimming and pruned the mangroves. The team was great and worked through some bad weather to get things done as promised. Continue to highly recommend.

We have now used Island Tree Service two times to trim various trees on our property including live oaks, laurel oaks, and a large bottlebrush tree. I called them because I wanted a certified arborist to diagnose the problem with a laurel oak that was bare for an entire year. Scott came to our house and made recommendations about that tree and others on the property. His rates seemed reasonable.
His professional team trimmed strangling roots around that tree and took out dead and unsightly limbs in other areas. They were very thorough and well-equipped with vehicles and devices to do the job.
They returned last week after a year to do additional work and to trim dead branches off the laurel oak that was my original concern. It is now beautifully green and appears to be thriving. My interaction and the results were very positive.
They are quite busy, and it took a few weeks to get on their calendar, but I will call them again when we need more assistance.

I am so please with the work Island Tree/Sararsota Tree service did. It was very reassuring knowing that a certified arborist was dircting/supervising the structural trimming of my oak trees. Huricanne Milton damaged the trees moer that just debris removal or clearing the hanging branches. They were quick, safe, professional, the equipment was modern, clean and as I said, had the expertise. I would recommend them to anyone.
