You would like to think that a tree service could identify different types of trees. Unfortunately there's no regulation on tree services in regards to their qualification as arborist. If their machine can't do it then forget about it. They do not have any interest in doing anything that requires labor. They also left a nice mess behind for me to pick up even after requesting that they come back and clean up. They are friendly and have good intentions though.

Cary Strukel very reliable and professional work. On time for appointments. Twice removed very large trees dangerously close to my home. Excellent stump grinding and cleanup too.

After Hurricane Irma took uprooted out tree and was balanced on a fence and utility lines, Cary and crew made it to our house in record time even making time to help our neighbor. Professional and great attitudes!

This tree service was outstanding! They pruned all my trees, cut down a dead tree, raked up their mess, & left me (at my request) a stack of live oak corded wood for my for pit. I had one issue where their guys damaged a ground tarp that I had covering some things & they replaced it too. I highly highly recommend you try this tree service!

Great professional experience working with Cary's team at Greater Bay Area Tree and Crane. Team worked thru city hoops to provide exceptional experience. Cary was communicative during entire process. Cannot recommend enough.

Donnie (sales personnel) provided a quote in July. Last week, on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, the job was scheduled. I took a day off work to ensure there were no access issues from tenant, ensure all work agreed to was completed, and provide payment. NO ONE had called that day by mid-morning for a time. I was then called after leaving a message by the owner, Cary Strukel, that I should have been notified that the job was needing to be done the coming Friday and that he apologized for the inconvenience basically blaming Donnie for the lack of communication and follow up.
Then, Friday comes, AGAIN, I take the day off for the above mentioned reasons and was called by Cary to advise me that the machinery had been damaged/down due to team's mishandling, etc. Was told that the team would be put on a week's suspension to "think about how they manage equipment and that I would be directly put on the schedule the following week, Aug. 30 - Sept. 3.
I received a call on Friday, Aug. 20th by Donnie advising me that the team would in fact be coming out on Aug.23.
Here we are Aug. 23rd, and I have asked that I be called in advance so I can ensure that I am at the property. Donnie did not like my feedback and accepted ZERO responsibility (asserting he was not in the know about the days being mixed up etc.) and told me that my satisfaction would not be honored only that of what was listed on the estimate.
THIS IS COMPLETELY CONTRARY TO WHAT WAS ADVISED TO ME BY CARY STRUKEL. Donnie told me the job would not be done by them and hung up in my ear.
I am out time and money from the days taken off and the upcoming time required to again call other company's for an estimate. An egregious display of unprofessionalism.

They did a beautiful job trimming up a huge oak tree. Per my request, they also saw me a nice stack of fire wood. The owner was a pleasure to do business with. Thanks again!

They removed 2 trees in my yard on a 1/4 acre lot. I asked if I needed to move any of my plants to keep them safe. I was told which ones to move and we did. On the days of the tree removal, they drove a massive crane and vehicles into my yard and as they cut up limbs they broke two of my favorite fruit trees, ran over a garden bed, broke pavers, in my courtyard, broke the side walk, and moved one of my plants and just threw it aside which killed it. The workers hopped over one of my fences (that was out of the way) onto my edible greens and started throwing their harnesses and gear onto my plants and stepping on everything. When I confronted them, I was repeatedly dismissed and told they would just buy us new plants and that is was part of the process. All of my hard work was treated like weeds. Finally my boyfriend had to call them from out of town for anyone to take me seriously and they finally apologized and fixed the garden bed and replaced one tree the next day. The yard was a disaster when they left. They convinced me it had to happen that way and I let it go. Two days later, my neighbor had a massive tree removed in her back yard by El-Cheapo Tree Service and they were excellent. Everyone was so impressed with how skilled, respectful, and quick they were. Their cranes were smaller and less invasive and they took good care of my elderly neighbor. Go with them.

Got a very fair price to take down five big old pine trees and trim two oaks. Crew were super fast and professional, got all debris removed and stumps ground down . Communication was great start to finish and we are more than happy with the results .

I had three tree companies come out for an estimate. This company provided the best estimate and quoted 3 weeks less wait time from what the others estimated. When all was said and done, they ended up coming out 2 weeks earlier than the date they initially quoted.

Incredibly professional. Unlike other tree trimming and l companies that I’ve used, these guys didn’t leave a mess of twigs, branches, palms and whatever else for me to clean up.

I have a tree in my back yard that needs to be trimmed and my palms are almost due again. I’ll be calling Greater Bay. I won’t waste my time hunting around and waiting for no shows or ridiculous quotes.

Cary and his team are beyond EXCELLENT at their craft. If you want anything done that involves tree trimming or removing, this company is above board in all they do and we could not be any more pleased! I rarely provide a review of any company... this is a unique group of guys who take their job seriously! Our tree removal was a very diseased 60 yr old laurel oak in the back yard. They masterfully took care of each detail and made a very tricky tree removal look easy. You can totally trust these guys! Thanks, Cary and the check is on its way!

The property around one of my good buddies house needed some tree work done, and after an exchange I had with the owner of this company I decided to talk my friend into using their service just to see how it really was. The reviews speak for themselves folks, and the work was done without an issue. Seems like a great company except in one aspect, and that would be professionalism, or lack thereof. Fun fact anyone reading this....If you post a review the owner, Cary Allen, doesn’t like, he will look you up on your personal Facebook page and message you threatening you with retaliation against your friends work places. That's not very cool and I didn't really think business owners stooped to such low levels. As for your response to my initial review, most of my reviews are 4-5 stars. Very few are below 3 stars, and even fewer have to do with drivers, company vehicles, and/or driving like an irresponsible douche bag. So, with that said, I will in fact keep up the good work for those who earn a 5 star review in ALL aspects of their company. Sorry that you hire people who drive extremely reckless and irresponsible in your company vehicles. The ONLY reason I initially left a one star review was because this was NOT a one time occurrence. I've seen the same truck do this numerous times around 4:00-4:15 PM.

Greater bay crane service did an excellent job for my tree company - tree ninjas. We love to climb trees and use a rigging process. When we have high risk tree removals with hazards like electrical lines. We always call greater bay crane service. The owner carry Alan comes out personally and operate the crane. I am in the tree business and I highly recommend using greater bag crane service. I gave them a five star review for the service they provided me. We were able to remove three Oak trees today. It’s saved a ton of work, labor in money by using greater bay!
