Their workmanship was stellar and after being in business for 45 years I can tell they are a tremendous asset to Byrd electric. We would like to thank Byrd Electric, particularly Mike, Tyson, Landon, Ian and Nicoda, for the excellent service we received. Our requested list of services was quite large including installing multiple new fixtures, running new outlets and switches and trouble shooting some electric issues. All was done within the day, at the rate quoted. We are very satisfied with the quality of work done and professional, customer “helpful” way that it was completed. 5 stars and we would recommend this team if you have need of electrical work.

Byrd Electric has done outdoor ceiling fan installation, security lights, and most recently came out to stabilize an outdoor light fixture for me. They have always been responsive, prompt in follow-up and calling prior to the visit, professional and kind. I highly recommend them!

We discovered that we had some loose wiring and incorrectly installed breakers in our breaker box. Jeff went above and beyond to make sure things were safely fixed and working properly.

The electrician had to return to the job site several times and I was also charged for unauthorized work. This is because the front office didn't accurately forward the information I provided to them, despite repeatedly providing the same information both in writing and by voice.

I recently called Byrd Electric for some electrical work because I had such a great experience the first time they worked at our cabin. This was a rather confounding problem involving an outlet that apparently went bad though there was no open CB and plenty of power in the line. But the electricians methodically worked through the problem and finally noted the capacity of the outlet was less than the servicing breaker. After upgrading the outlet, there were no further problems. These guys know their business; and they're friendly and happy to answer any questions. I'm happy to recommend Byrd Electric for all electrical services needed.

In response to the owners 3 months later response to the review below. He seems more concerned with their weak response times than the safety of customers. He had no problem leaving us with a fire hazard because it's all about money and not ethics.
BEWARE *** If you have had them out, you may be living with a fire hazard.

Had a home inspector come out to look at a home we later purchased. The home inspector noted some electrical issues with 2 panels. He noted some ground and neutral wires mixed and double tapped neutral on a single terminal. This is all greek to me. So, we told the seller what we wanted fixed and this fire hazard was part of it. These repairs were done by Byrd Electric on 9/23/2024. It took 11 labor hours, plus some parts, at a total cost of 3,608.00. We later closed on the home and at the end of July we called a different electrical company to come out and install a ceiling fan and a separate ceiling light. He came back after going to look at our electrical panel and explained to us the fire dangers of having the CHALLENGER electrical panel that we had and that it should be totally replaced. We agreed and we had it done. We paid 5872.00 to change out the CHALLENGER panel and 2 mismatched breakers on the other panel, plus the light and separate fan installed.
We search online about these CHALLENGER breaker boxes which overwhelmingly said they are a fire hazards and called 2 different electric companies that both said they were fire hazards. So, we tried to call Byrd to get there opinion on it. We called on a Friday two weeks ago and waited for a call which never came. Same with Wednesday of the next week. Then on this past Thursday I did get to speak to an electrician named Jeff. I asked him his view on the CHALLENGER and very quickly told me they were a fire hazard and should be replaced. I explained to him that their company had come over to our home and worked on our CHALLENGER, but didn't address the fire hazard they left behind. He assured me he would call me back to talk about this. That call never came.
I'm sure they will say that they pointed this out to the seller and the seller refused to fix the panel. I wouldn't be to shocked if that were true but the fact is they knew they were selling this home to someone who will be left with a fire hazard. What if the worst would have happened and we did have a fire? I wonder if we would still be living with this CHALLENGER panel if we called Byrd over instead of another company? That would have been odd for them to have said you need to replace this fire hazard panel that we charged the seller of this home 3680.00 several months ago to put a bandaid on. Just doesn't seem right. Unethical. Thankfully, we now have this fire hazard fixed.
Ironically we had Byrd electric come to service our generator a few months back. They have been servicing it in the past. The light on it was staying on orange when it should have been green. They got it back running and the green light on. They said to us it was sounding funny and we were thinking they were about to charge us and leave. I asked them to show me something on the generator, I forget what. One of the technicians then noticed that a spark plus wire was ether loose or off. He blamed it on a former tech. They fixed it and left without charging us anything due to what happened. I was impressed that they didn't charge us, I'm glad I was there when they noticed the problem. My wife wasn't impressed because it seemed they were about to leave with it still sounding funny. This is why we didn't call them back and thankfully we called a different company.
I hate that our home inspector didn't know of the dangers associated with the CHALLENGER electrical panel. He does now. Electricity can be such a dangerous thing and to have an electrician say you are living with a fire hazard, it gets your attention. I wish Byrd electric would have refused passing on a fire hazard to new unsuspecting home owners who could have had there home burn down. Invoice # 17168

Byrd Electric and Ian were phenomenal. They came out within a day of my call and actually exceeded my expectations and were able to come out earlier than the scheduled appointment. They asked questions and listened to my concerns. Based on my feedback, Ian came prepared with a new GFI just in case it was the issue. He diagnosed it quickly and did the repair immediately. From the intake call to working with Ian, everyone was pleasant, polite and professional. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I know I will call them for and future issue I might have.

They showed up early to evaluate the job and material needed. We scheduled a date to do the work and they returned on time and ready to go. Completed the project when they said and called in the power company to inspect the project and reset the meter. All's well and the area is cleaned up. I would recommend them.

They were timely, and very thorough. They replaced all the outlets in my home that were old and damaged and installed an outdoor ceiling fan and repaired my outdoor outlets. They helped me with an extra light fixture while there. Great service, great company.

Been using Byrd for almost 3 years, they did an evaluation on my home that helped in my closing. They've also done great work both in and outside of my home. Their recent job had them fixing some wiring that the home manufacturer got wrong, they were in and out in less than 2 hours. Couldn't be happier with the outcome or professionalism of Byrd.
