I have been a customer of Corbin Comfort for many years now, and can always count on them for prompt, honest, and professional services. Highly recommended.
Great people with impeccable customer service, knowledgeable and informative technicians. I give Corbin Systems five stars and they’re highly recommended. Give me them a call and you can thank me later! ;-)
I moved into my home back in October of 2018 and used Corbin based off a recommendation from another HVAC company that my home inspector recommended but unfortunately did not service my area. I wanted a complete tune-up and cleaning on my two HVAC systems(upstairs and main floor) I paid an diagnostic fee(fee just to come out and check the systems) of $159.00 On top of this I paid $1,035 to do the tune-up and cleaning and addition items needed to make sure both my systems were running great. Everything went smoothly and my service guy did a good job.He said everything looked and was running great and I would be good to go for a long while. We had no issues after the service, being that it was winter we never used the AC. But again I was told it was working perfectly when tested. Forward to April of 2019. my wife and I welcomed our first born son in early march. we moved him into his nursery(room upstairs next to our room) We noticed that his room always seemed much warmer than any area upstairs(master, second bedroom, bathrooms, laundry and hallway) We even have a temp monitor on his baby monitor that registers much higher than what the thermostat is set to. I called Corbin and spoke with a female to schedule an appointment and that I wanted them to check the AC issue in the nursery and to look at the downstairs unit as well, one room seemed to be much cooler in the winter(likely due because its a low insulated area) nevertheless I wanted it checked out. I was told it would be an $89.00 fee to come out and do this. I was under the impression from my previous bill of $1194.00 I wouldn't have to be charged again being a customer and also because I paid so that there wouldn't be issues this soon...but im also understand and things break etc. I said fine and waited for my visit. I was not there the day my same service guy came, my wife was home, but I did talk on the phone with him immediately after he checked everything. First I was being charged $159.00 not $89.00. I said I was told 89, he said to do two system checks its 159. I let it go at the time and figured I would settle that up later with the person who quoted me. Then I was told that both systems are running completely fine, there is no issue with the nursery room. He mentioned that the sun was hitting the nursery more causing a higher temp read. I will say that seems highly unlikely being that all three upstairs rooms are on the same side of the house, and the nursery is in the middle of the master and second room. leaving far less sun exposure, so I don't buy it.Not to mention the nursery and second room both have one duct each. And to also mention that even on days when its not been hot perhaps a rainy day, and even at nighttime long after the sun is down the room is still at a higher temp!!!!! Then they recommend I could have a second duct installed in the nursery for a price of $370.00. on top of the $159 as well. Mind you it took 15mins to look at both systems and conclude everything is ok...so I pay the $159 and decide I will call and talk to the manager about the whole scenario and explain how I was told only $89.00 etc. When I make the call I get to speak to Mr. Corbin himself. I explain my story and situation. First he tells me that I owe the $159. that I was told incorrect information, nothing he can do about that. Then he tells me that unless I want to install the second duct it seems my only other option is to run the air longer, lower the temp, and run the fan as well. NO other actual helpful advice is offered, I was given no other option, there seemed to be no care to actually solve my issue, for a newborn mind you... I certainly felt robbed of my money and taken advantage of. So just to make sure that I was in fact not wrong. I have run the air and fan longer and lowered the temp considerably: same result, except that all the other rooms are freezing cold and now I have paid even more money in my energy bill. If in fact that my only other option is the new duct, then I will bite the bullet, but it will not be with Corbin!
