I have used LBE twice since moving to Alpharetta in 2019. Their work is thorough and their electricians are wonderful!! I've been fortunate enough to have had Josh (and Josh/Hunter for a follow-up visit) to diagnose and fix a very tricky lighting issue in my home. Josh also replaced an outlet that had shorted out due to user error (😉). Not only are both problems fixed but I also learned a thing or two about electrical do's and don'ts that will make me a much more informed consumer in the future!

Lightning Bug Electric did an outstanding job from start to finish. Their communication was clear, scheduling was easy, and they showed up on time ready to work. The electrician was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to explain everything before getting started. LBE has came out and helped me on several occasion. These include hot tub and sauna hookups. When my hot tub breaker started tripping a week in they came out immediately and rechecked their work. Their work was perfect and not the issue. They came back out, went above and beyond and worked with the hot tub manufacturer to diagnose the issue and get the hot tub running. Heather in the office has been so helpful. JD and Michael out in the field have done excellent work. Great communication, clean work and respectful. Thank you for everything!

Steve R. and Chris W. spent several days in our home relocating electrical components to support a kitchen remodel involving new appliance placements and updated recessed lighting. Throughout the project, they demonstrated exceptional professionalism, deep technical knowledge, and strong troubleshooting abilities. We also appreciated their courtesy in notifying us when they were on their way, and they consistently left the work area clean and orderly, as if it were their own home.

Our cat, Mocha, took it upon himself to supervise the project and spent most of the time chasing Chris’s laser pointer like it was his full‑time job. We also discovered that Steve was a contestant on Season 1 of American Idol, where he delivered a “folksy” rendition of When a Man Loves a Woman—a performance we can only imagine was both heartfelt and acoustically unforgettable. :)

I've used LIghtning Bug several times for a wide variety of issues and upgrades with our 1960s home and they've been great! Griffen and Christian were standouts for their knowledge, skill, and professionalism plus a true get-it-done mentality. Cody was also great in proposing options with solutions that wouldn't break the bank. It's been really nice to find such a professionally operated local business.

Today was the best service by any contractor at our home ! Daniel was timely, thorough, knowledgeable and completely professional. He handled tranformer, landscape lighting, floodlight, new bathroom fixtures, etc. He was tireless. He is the best ambassador for your brand. We even joined your membership service because of his attitude. Don't let this gentleman go...

I had Lightning Bug Electric install a new panel and surge suppression system in my home. They did an excellent job with well-trained electricians. LBE provided me with a fair estimate below others, this was largely due to the fact they did not try to see me on services that were not absolutely necessary, this speaks volumes for this company and their honesty! I actually requested the additional surge suppression work and upgraded breakers. Highly recommend this company!

Steve and Jed did a breaker box rejuvenation for us and we couldn’t be happier with the experience and results. They were professional, personable, did a great job, and completed everything quickly. Highly recommend and will continue to use them again in the future.

I had lightning bug electric replace the main electrical panel in our garage after some flooding. While I would not have called my initial experience perfect, LBE followed up, unprompted, and sent the technician back out to fix the issues we had. A few days later, we had an issue with our dryer on the weekend. I called LBE, and they had another technician, Aaron, at our house within a few hours. He confirmed it was an issue with the initial panel repair, fixed it, and got everything working again free of charge. LBE turned what could have been a subpar experience into a great one, and I would happily call them again if needed.

I had a Generac Generator installed today by Lightning Bug Electric and It was a great experience. From Cody who came to give the quote to Griffin and his A team who did the install everything went smoothly. The guys were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly and very helpful with all my questions and concerns. They explained everything to me about my new “lifesaver” and let me know there will be great service after the sale. I highly recommend this company!

A great local company. Everyone I've interacted with there takers pride in their work and their customers' satisfaction. Technicians are professional and good at communicating with the customer. Our small business has used them for years for all sorts of needs. Most recently, we had Griffen do work at our site. He did a great job.

We have an older home, built in the 70's and were having some scary electrical issues. Alex was our technician (and his helper Jake) and I can't say enough good things about them.
They contacted us ahead of time - were exactly on time and were friendly and professional. BUT TO THE POINT...we had some very scary electrical issues at hand due to the age of our home, and Alex really listened to our concerns and he went over all parts of the house with us and provided very detailed information on how to correct our "scary problems" as well as explaining our other updates that we wanted to address.
He provided written estimates on each project we ticked off our list and literally let us see every task as it was being completed. This was just so over and above what I have seen service techs do in other industries. It was impressive!
Alex was so kind and patient to answer all of our questions regarding options, and didn't leave until he made sure we had everything addressed that was on our list or on our mind....It was just a really good overall experience that I find in today's world, is pretty darn hard to come by. And not to mention we got our "Bug Club" discount!! (we have used Lightning Bug for our electrical needs with our business as well as our home for many years)
I give them 5 stars and would HIGHLY recommend them for personal or business electrical needs. They are the BEST!

Lightning Bug Electric scheduled my free estimate first thing Monday morning, and the process was smooth from start to finish. Chris arrived right on time and was very professional.

Before starting, he came inside and walked me through exactly what he needed to check in order to provide an accurate price for installing a ceiling fan in my theater room. I really appreciated the transparency. The work only took about 30 minutes, and he was clean and professional the entire time — no mess left behind at all.

He also provided a quote for the next project I’m planning installing Recess Canless Lights in my kitchen, which was extremely helpful.

When I say I am a happy customer right now, I truly mean it! I will be using this company for everything moving forward. Chris mentioned they pretty much do it all, and based on this experience, I completely trust them.

I would give this company 10 stars if I could. My service team was awesome! Cody came out to do the assessment. He was personable and sensitive to my goals for my current home. Their quote was more reasonable than others by a large amount but their work was very thorough and professional. They did work that was necessary without adding any unnecessary costs, unlike the quotes of their competitors. Cody was even available after his visit to answer questions for me. When the work started, Aaron was my master electrician. He worked so hard for two days straight. He was courteous, professional and stopped to answer questions whenever I have them. He and his co-worker, Jake, worked late hours to get the job done. Aaron and Jake went above and beyond to make sure everything was ship-shape before they left. They even came back later to fix something. They drove out of their way after they finished the job. This was probably the best experience with any company that I've ever had. Thank you!

I had fun today swapping out the old wall oven that quit working. Getting the old oven out of there by myself was the biggest challenge because that oven was heavy. I also had to do a little bit of carpentry work to reduce the size of the opening so the new oven wouldn't be sliding around once it was installed.

Frigidaire threw me a curveball though because the new oven was set up to connect above the oven, but the old oven was connected below. The electrical conduit from the new oven was not long enough to reach the junction box below, and the wire to the junction box below was not long enough to reach above the oven.

So I called in an electrician (Josh M) from Lightning Bug Electric and we deduced that the electrical supply wire was coming from above. After discussing all our options we cut a hole above the oven in the back of the cabinet, fished around and found the wire, pulled the wire up to the top, shortened it, installed a new junction box, and got everything hooked up properly. It was much easier getting the new oven in place and secured with someone else to help lift it in place. Josh also changed a couple of 40 amp circuit breakers with 20 amp breakers to better protect the new oven based on it's electrical specifications.

He also informed me that who ever installed my whole house surge protector did not do it properly, pointed out the issue and suggested that I file a warranty claim to get it installed properly so if I do have a surge incident the warranty will be honored.

Everything considered, working with Josh M. from Lightning Bug Electric was a pleasurable experience. I would recommend them.
