I wanted to share an experience. I actually work for CCES. This past weekend we had one of those GA nightly storms, the following morning a large limb decided to break off and hit the electrical line to my house and sent surges of power prior to cutting off the circuit breaker. Do not take those surge protectors for granted they saved my TV but not my HVAC unit.

Jason Rapholtz did a fantastic job installing my EV charger, fixing my panel, adding an outlet in my garage. Garage. He worked efficiently and on top of it it's just a nice guy. 5 out of 5 Stars.

Being a homeowner I have dealt with quite a few contractors, and Capital City was a very professional and pleasant experience to work with. I had an EV charger installed with them. John came out and performed the initial walkthrough and scope of the project. We talked about where I’d like the charger to be and he answered all my questions about the electrical installation how the process works. Once we settled on the arrangement, Zack came out and performed the actual installation. He was on time, quick and efficient. He taught me a bit about electrical components and some tips on EV charging. What a pleasure to request work to be done and have it completed without any issues. It could all be so simple. Smooth process from start to finish. John Schaefer did a fantastic job in the initial assessment as well as during the installation itself, his experience installing home chargers for electric cars is apparent and confidence-inspiring. He was courteous, professional, and clean. Highly recommended!

The electrician that was sent out to our home to provide us with a quote for a Ford Electric Car charger installation was about as slimy as a person can be. He immediately started to criticize our home, said that he, "Could tell that it was old." His definition of old must be less than 15 years because it's barely seen more than a decade so far.

He also told us that because we lived in a townhome, it was more complicated because it wasn't like a "real" home.

Meanwhile, I'm pointing to the garage wall that is shared by the electrical panel itself with room for two extra breakers. You can't get much more straightforward than that. He began telling us that it wouldn't be approved by the county inspector unless we started buying extra equipment beyond what the charger and installation covered.

So we start asking questions about price according to what he though the correct solution was.

He assured us that he had personally done over 2,500 installations of these charger units, but that he was absolutely forbidden to talk to us about price. I asked him why would his company be ashamed of their own pricing? His reply was that it wasn't Capital City Electrical Services that insisted on them not mentioning anything about cost, it was QMerit that forbid them from talking about it.

It did not take much effort to find out that QMerit has bought out Capital City Electrical Services, and are therefore the exact same company now. He insisted that installation doesn't cover having to cut into the sheet rock at all. Just in case anyone is unaware, you have to cut into the sheet rock somewhere if you're going to install a new 240 line.

The electrician began telling us what our options were. I asked him what the difference was, he replied, "Cost. The money is the difference."

When I asked him how much different is the money he replied, "I can't tell you that."

I informed the guy that if he didn't have enough experience installing these units to provide me with a ballpark idea of what the cost difference was between my options, then I wouldn't be able to tell him what I wanted. Somebody was going to have to budge and talk about the price of our options. He insisted that he would love to, but that QMerit insists that they can't discuss price until after they plug in what they're going to do.

We will be getting multiple bids on this project now even though Ford claims to provide "free" installation through QMerit because we no longer have any trust in QMerit to be honest and transparent with us about their pricing or even open and honest about Capital City Electrical Services being owned by them.

If they are willing to lie to a homeowner's face about QMerit and Capital City Electrical Services being completely separate companies, how can you trust anything else they say? If their electricians are trained to try to poke holes at your home by making ridiculous claims about its age in order to prepare you for costs well beyond what was promised, how can you trust that they place any value on integrity or even just basic decency?

Jason installed my EV charger. He made sure I understood the setup of the charger to my charging account. This troubleshooting will come in handy if the system becomes disconnected. He was timely to the appointment and got straight to work after assessing the area. His installation was very clean (wiring and wall clamps were precise and aligned). I highly recommend him and Capital City Electrical Services.

Jason, Chris, John are all so professional and kind. They take the time to explain complicated electrical laws and jargon. They did a ton of great work at my new house including kitchen and electric vehicle charging upgrades. All so fast, clean, and solid.

Capital City Electric were great for my home's service upgrade, panel replacement, and wiring. They're clearly skilled at their craft but also communicate well and price their work competitively. John S. led the process with utmost professionalism and jumped through a lot of paperwork to make sure my family received a Georgia energy rebate. John even helped after hours when issues came up outside his control with Georgia Power and a separate appliance contractor. Jason R. and Mike B. did excellent work on the install day and completed the entire scope in less time than I expected. They also thoughtfully handled small things like cleaning up drywall dust and carefully copying over details about my circuit layout. Highly recommend Capital City Electric.

Zach was here last week to install our new EV charging system and was so kind that we called him back out the following week to install a new outlet in our backyard and master closet. Prices were great and service was even greater.

Sola and Lee came out to swap out some older lights in our parking lot. They arrived early on the morning scheduled and went right to work. They completed the job in good time, and left us cleaned up and in good shape. Very good representation for Capital City Electric.

I hired Capital City Electrical Services via Qmerit to install a level 2 charger in my garage for an EV. I'll give them kudos for speed of service and the courteousness of the electrician they sent from Norcross. They arrived same day from my early morning request to install at my residence.

Professional install done by John Schaefer and most impressed with his level of customer service and commitment to make the job perfect.

I did have some initial hiccups with the install and communication, but all were cleared up perfectly with John and I highly recommend them for installing a EV charger with hardwiring to an electrical panel. In addition, he repaired and covered the space below my electrical panel where a previous electrician removed a damaged surge protector.

John even offered to paint the area around the PVC pipe, electrical box, and wood used to level the connection. He also explained the permitting process and the inspection that will be needed to complete the installation. Top notch service!

Capital City finished an oven wiring project for me today, and they have provided incredible customer service every step of the way! Today the electrician Zach came out and provided the exact kind of customer service you hope to receive. He truly went above and beyond to make sure today's project went smoothly in the face of a difficulty (out of his control) and I am so grateful to him! He was efficient, answered all of my questions well, cleaned up his work space, and was respectful of my home. Over the years I have used several different electricians but now I feel confident that I have now found my new permanent electrician with Zach and Capital City!

Jason was amazing. He arrived on time and was meticulous in the way he installed our new car charger and the needed power supply. Our installation was more difficult than most, requiring him to install an outside breaker and run conduit and wire around our home and into our garage. He even waited for us to return (my wife and I both had an appointment) to help me connect the charger to my phone app. Five Stars Jason!!!

Capital City did some 240 and 120v work for me. Jason was exceptional. He was super easy to work with and clearly very focused on the quality of his work. As I shared with him: I’ve found my new go-to electrician.
