Reviews of local pros in Hilo, Hawaii

Great Service, Thanks. One of the old Land Clearing Service providers in Hawaii

My trees were growing over my neighbors property. His crew just cut the minimum amount and now months later are back over my neighbors yard. Barely made a dent on the huge tree in my front yard. I wanted more cut but at three hours for $4500 he and his crew were done.

As a commercial developer working on the Big Island, Arborist Services LLC has become our go-to land clearing partner. We've contracted them on multiple project sites — including a multi-acre development near Hilo that had dense overgrowth and challenging volcanic terrain. Their crew handled everything from forestry mulching to crane-assisted tree removal without a single delay to our construction timeline.
What sets them apart in a B2B context is their professionalism and communication. Estimates were itemized and transparent, site assessments were thorough, and their team understood the environmental compliance requirements we needed to document for permitting. That kind of accountability is rare and valuable when you're managing multiple contractors on a job.
Their equipment is heavy-duty and well-maintained, and their certified arborists clearly know Hawaii's unique vegetation and soil conditions. The organic mulching approach they used on one of our sites actually improved the ground quality ahead of our landscaping phase — an unexpected bonus.
If you're a developer or property manager on the Big Island looking for a reliable subcontractor who operates with military-grade discipline (the founder is a Marine vet, and it shows), look no further. Arborist Services LLC earns our full recommendation.

I had a good experience with Arborist Services Hawaii. Their team was highly professional, knowledgeable and handled the entire job with excellent care and safety.

They assessed the situation properly and completed the work efficiently without any hassle. What stood out the most was their attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment throughout the process.

If you’re looking for reliable and experienced tree service experts in Big Island, I would definitely recommend them. Great service and a very dependable team!

Excellent job with the emergency tree care last night. Very fast and professional.

After a big windy night in the Hilo area, a large branch was hanging over our driveway. I contacted East Side Tree Services and they helped with emergency tree care the same day. The team removed the branch safely and checked the rest of the tree to make sure everything looked healthy. It felt great having experienced professionals handle it.

The guys from East Side Tree Services did a great job getting this stump out for us. They were careful with the surrounding plants and left the area looking really clean. Definitely the team to call if you need a quick fix.

This is the third time I’ve trusted East Side Tree Services with my property and they are simply the best. John genuinely cares about tree health and conservation he never recommends an unnecessary cutting just to make an extra dollar. His team did a beautiful job with tree trimming and maintaining the natural shape of our canopy beautifully. They leave the entire property looking great when they're finished. It's a pleasure supporting a local business that consistently treats its clients with so much respect.

Honestly really impressed with how easy this was. I needed help removing an old tree that had been leaning for a while and they took care of it fast. Great communication and solid work.

I saw the East Side Tree Services truck parked down the street at a friends house. I walked over and spoke with the team. They were very professional and came to my property the same day to give me a fair price. My trees look great now!
