These folks have everything for plants... First time being there and I was shocked about how clean and nice. The layout was, and how far back the rows and rows of plants went.. The fountains, the knickknacks that they throw in around the way at a great atmosphere to the gardening.Aficiato... It is a little more expensive than most gardening supply areas. However, they have everything under the sun under one roof.

If you are at the Boise store make sure to ask for Russ. He is above and beyond the most helpful, kind and pleasant person to work with! Far West is blessed to have him. My husband and I were in on a busy Sunday afternoon buying and necterine and apple tree and he gave us so much attention and help. Far West you are so lucky to have Russ! =)

Customer service is exceptional. When we entered the location we were greeted by Russ who spent the next hour educating us on the plants and trees needed for our back yard. Recently went to Far West with my husband to check out their amazing selection. Had the pleasure of working with Russ, who was incredibly helpful in showing us different selections of plants we were interested in. His considerable knowledge combined with his friendly personality, made for a most productive and pleasant experience.

They have an amazing selection and the people who work there are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

Staff here is hit or miss. I have dealt with some nice people, but last few times I have had the rudest women helping me. I bought a plant in July that is on its death bed. I brought it back and was told I can’t return it because it wasn’t dead and shouldn’t have dug it out of the ground. The attitude I got is reason I will never be back.

I could not believe how helpful and knowledgeable everyone one was, they took time to help even though they were obviously busy. All the employees I encountered were pleasant too and seems to actual enjoy working there.

Plant wise they have an incredible selection and everything you could think of. There prices are on the high side but it was worth it to get the peonies I have been looking for for ages. I also got some great ideas for some backyard landscaping issues we have been trying to solve. Will definately go back again!

We are new to the area and Russ was so helpful as we begin to plan for our new backyard. Not only was he friendly, but he was wildly knowledgeable. Russ knew so much about the plantings we were considering and was able to show us a ton of options that would thrive in our space. Russ shared important details about trees, helpful guide us towards the best options that would thrive. Russ also listened to our needs/wants and focused on giving us suggestions that matched what we were looking for. He even shared details about the program that is offered for your designer to custom design our space. While we had only stopped in to browse, Russ earned our business and we will be using this nursery for any purchases that we make - even if we could save going elsewhere. We simply won’t know because there is no reason to shop around when folks like Russ are around. We can’t wait to make our purchases!

I frequent Far West often in the Spring/Summer growing season. It's always a pleasure and a great help to have Russ help me. He's very knowledgeable, makes great suggestions and gives good growing tips! I purchased a Twisted White Pine at his suggestion for my specific spot at home. Confident we made the right choice!!

Isaiah and his crew did a fantastic job executing Emily’s landscape design project at our house. My wife and I are thrilled with the results.

If cost is no object, shop nowhere else. FarWest has a fantastic variety of unusual evergreens as well as a good selection of Japanese maples. In totally redoing my yard, I bought about half of my trees and shrubs here.

If you're cost-conscious, concentrate on the plants you can't find elsewhere. I wouldn't buy a Bloodgood Maple here when the ones at Costco look the same for 80% less money. If you'll be moving out in a few years, the big box stores are fine. If there's a special place in a small yard at a house you'll keep forever, an extra $100 for a superior plant is a good investment. FarWest often has dwarf varieties available that can save a lot of maintenance.

The staff members are very knowledgeable, often knowing more than any tag will tell you about sensitivity to wind or reflected light or poor drainage. Even the tags are more informative than at most places. For the Giant Sequoia, the spacing requirement says, "Lots of space." Who knew?

My only minor gripe is the warranty policy. They DO honor it, whatever others say, but you have to buy this very expensive MYKE substance to get the warranty. MYKE only comes in two sizes, which forces you to buy plants all at once instead of on individual trips. They don't care that you just bought $45 of MYKE yesterday for one shrub--if you buy another today, buy more MYKE or it's not guaranteed. If this were truly a miracle substance, they should sell it loose (e.g., you buy one tablespoon for that shrub or three cups for that spruce). It seems like there's some kickback involved here as there are similar products with 100 times as many reviews on Amazon.

I wanted an alternative to my front lawn; ugly, hard to control weeds, water hungry, etc.
I had worked with Marcia in 2020 when Far West transformed my backyard. I can’t imagine hiring anyone else - service and workers (Luis & Luis) were amazing and Far West honored the tree warranty and replaced one that hadn’t made it with a better tree.
This year, Marcia designed my xeriscape front yard; I had no idea how good it would look. She had great ideas that were far better than I envisioned. I have a stream with a bridge, beautiful pollinators and very low maintenance. I also appreciated her advice and encouragement in my desire to get rid of chemical herbicides and fertilizers.

We are very pleased with our new fountain from FarWest. Not only was the staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but they also delivered and installed the fountain to ensure that it worked properly for us to enjoy. We visit FarWest often now just to see what’s new and experience the amazing assortment of plants, trees, shrubs and everything in between to help improve our outdoor space. Thank You FarWest!

Russ helped me come up with a landscaping plan for a bed in our backyard. He was very knowledgeable about what plants do best in our area and planning for growth and size layering within the bed. Thanks, Russ!

Designer visited with us and came up with a great design. Worked with us as we proceeded with HOA concerns and approval. Led us though garden to settle on details of plants and hardscapes. Great communication from crew as they completed the job is amazing time.

Russ helped us out today with so many questions that we had. He walked us around the entire property showing us his ideas he thought would work for us and sharing his vast knowledge with everything trees. He was a tremendous help and even ensured that I got a veteran discount, which was huge on today’s purchase. I’ve always found all the employees out in the lot to be very friendly and helpful.
