Solar Energy System reviews in Boise, Idaho

The solar panels look good, and seem to produce close to what the system installed said. I was told that for a 10.24 kWp system it's normal not to get the full amount. There seems to be some conflicting information between different sources but I have no reason to not believe them. Just a heads up for anyone sizing a system.

Everyone at the company was pleasant and nice. The price was possibly more than other solar companies, but overall the monthly loan is manageable. There was a lot of odd things with paperwork and contracts but I believe it was all flushed out eventually.

Overall I would recommend them but I'm not an expert in solar companies, so your mileage may vary. I did like the people I met and they were very respectful during installation and everything.

Also your Idaho Power bill won't go away, Idaho power will still charge you fees unrelated to power usage, but they're the normal "extra charges" you'd see on your bill. My first bill with solar was $5 and change.

We had a unique situation where our home was taken by eminent domain and we had the solar panels from our old home that needed to be installed on the new home. Many solar companies wouldn't even consider doing our install. Not only did Sun Driven help us out, they took care of all of the permits and inspections and made it a very smooth process for us. Thank you!!

One of the best business experiences I've ever had. Polite, friendly and diligent team members. When we encountered a challenge with our panel, Josh went far above and beyond to help solve our problems. Our interactions with Sun Driven Solar were always positive, and the representative was transparent and honest every step of the way. Another unrelated agency attempted to sell us an expensive fuse box addition that was not needed or required using scare tactics, Solar Pro acted as an advocate on our behalf and gave us additional education, saving thousands of dollars on an "upgrade" that would not benefit us in any way. Highly recommended company.

Everything was handled with care and expertise throughout the installation. Sean explained everything very well during the presentation and Alex and Cesar did a excellent job with the installation. We could not be more pleased with the service and quality work. I would like to ask for an itemized bill that I can send to my accountant for tax reasons.

We've had our Solar System for over a year now and it's been a seamless transition. We have always produced more power than what we use, even during the winter months. We love pay the same amount every month on our loan rather than the way our bill used to fluctuate based on usage. My interactions with the staff are always pleasant. They check in from time to time to make sure the System is still working well and that we haven't had any surprises in our bill, but it's never enough contact to be annoying.

If you've been thinking about going Solar, I would highly recommend this company. My experience has been great.

The salesperson (Janaya Edmonds) was very prompt on our initial meeting and thorough with the proposal. The whole crew was on time and very professional. I cannot say enough good about the quality of the service we received from Sun Driven Solar throughout the entire process from beginning to end. Everyone I have met associated with Sun Driven Solar has provided exceptional service, above and beyond what you would typically expect. Robert is extremely professional and personable. Everyone has been thorough and detailed in answering our questions, their product is exceptional, their work quality is high. During the install they pointed out areas on our roof that were missing shingles and offered to fix it. They also installed a fan in the attic to pull out extra heat. The project took longer to get started because the city was slow in issuing permits and they offered to pay the two months of our electric bill that we missed out on solar credits due to the late installment, AND they beat the other competitors in price. It is very evident that it’s a company emphasis to exceed the customer’s expectation. We are very pleased.

Could not be happier with our experience. The process of designing the system was very thorough and data driven based on our house location, energy usage, and finances. The system has functioned great and even while I review it's performance on the app I get regular check in calls from Sun Driven making sure I don't have any questions as well as a discussion of the system performance from their end. When an intense storm went through I was called to let me know someone would be coming out to the house to inspect the panels and make sure no damage had occurred. Great company overall.

Purchase and install of Tesla Powerwall 3 was a pleasurable experience. Sun Driven handled all coordination for installer, electrician, inspector and Idaho Power involvement. We were kept well informed throughout the process. Cesar Acuna did an exceptional job doing the installation as well as being very responsive and diligent tracking down a problem with solar panels not producing. He even helped us get started on the Tesla app for the Powerwall. Thanks Cesar!!

I've waited for over a year to leave my review so that I could thoroughly speak about my experience, the effectiveness of their job, and the productivity of my panels, not to mention their commitment to the sales agreement.

First off, these guys are phenomenal, one of THE BEST companies I have EVER worked with! From start to finish to over a year later. And I've traveled around the sun for over four and a half decades.

Now the story, for those of you that are interested in reading about this amazing experience. Everybody that I have worked with at the company were genuine people, not just employees pushing a product for profit. They provided me with an estimate that would cover my annual energy use and eliminate my bills to the utility monopoly. They showed up early in the morning (right on time) and the installation looked amazing. Not only as far as the layout, but also the aesthetic quality that it added to my house. I saw no trace of them being in my yard or on my roof, other than the panels--they cleaned up impeccably.

As they estimated, I produced more energy than I needed until the shorter days set in so I started pulling from my bank (when it used to exist, grrr). My bank ran out in January, when the PUC gave Idaho Power their wishes to gouge rooftop solar producers so they could profit off people generating their own energy from the sun. HUH!?! Anyway, I underproduced what the company had estimated by the end of the first year and so I contacted them. They told me they would compensate by adding more panels AT NO COST. In other words, they fully honored the agreement with no questions asked or excuses made. I totally commend them on their integrity as a company and as people running a business.

Side note: I know other people with panels and their companies have not honored their estimate and/or are giving them the run around and making excuses. Not Sun Driven, they stood by their word and it makes me even happier that I contacted them (wasn't solicited at my house) and chose to have them install the panels. I also interviewed 3 other companies and Sun Driven provided me with the best estimate. Beyond that, they are local, in house, and donate to local non-profits. Win, win, win!!!

Since the change with Idaho Power that gouged roof top solar producers, I asked if they could also move a few of my existing panels to the westside of my house where they were going to install the FREE PANELS. They said no problem and also said that they would only charge for materials to move them. In other words, they would do it LABOR FREE since they were already going to be here!

How many companies have you experienced with such great integrity and kindness? For me, few to none other than Sun Driven.

To end, I would have given them more stars because they have provided me with at least 110% service and integrity. They are a local company, they donate to local non-profits, and they are ALL genuinely good people. If you are interested in solar panels, I strongly encourage you to go with Sun Driven, they won't let you down.

Sun Driven Solar was an excellent company to work with. I've had previous projects and instances where I required the need of contractors/vendors and was never an easy process.
However, SDR was amazing, from the beginning to the very end. Even with great companies, there's normally at least one area that can be lacking or does not provide the same service or knowledge as others. Beginning with the sales representative was what initially obtained my interest. With so many different solar companies marketing, it can get exhausting and repetitive having the same regurgitated script told to you, that no fault in their own, are obligated to inform.
The Sales team did not put any pressure on decisions or frame facts to where it's in their advantage and a scare tactic. They were upfront and transparent, which is a nice change to see in a company.
Although Sales were great to work with, I was still hesitant when it came down to the physical work; and that's where other companies can fall short. Whether that be time frame, cost, unforeseen issues that could have been prevented by research, etc.
I'm grateful the installation team was the exact customer service experienced with Sales. They were extremely professional, considerate of my property and completed before originally anticipated, without compromising quality.
Aside from the physical project itself, they went above and beyond assisting me with the information and action items I needed to take to optimize the best process for my Taxes and ensuring I'm able to receive all benefits available.
I'm extremely happy with the outcome and fortunate to have dealt with such an awesome team!

We’ve had a great experience with Sun Driven Solar AND continue to receive great care with them! They never pressured us with a “hard sell.” Instead, they gave us plenty of time to ask questions, investigate, and determine how best their solar panel system fit with our energy goals for our home. Along the way, Zach answered every question and he didn’t hesitate to walk us through any concerns we had (He’s really great!).

Our house is perfectly south-facing, so we've had great energy production. Our solar panels were installed in mid-June of 2022 and we immediately saw our energy production outpace our energy consumption in July. Thereafter, our energy production continued to outpace our consumption through November. Only in the past few winter months, with all the random snow we’ve gotten, have we seen a shift in our energy production. But, with the current solar offsets granted by Idaho Power, our monthly payment with Idaho Power hasn’t been higher than where it was during last year’s winter months.

Additionally, we’ve had to reach out to Sun Driven Solar to help with some small matters and they’ve been helpful and incredibly timely! They helped us navigate the solar credit for our tax returns by providing necessary documents and details for what to do. And, most recently, they helped us as part of a living room renovation. We installed two small peekaboo windows, which required us to move the shielded electrical wires that connected the solar power box to the electrical line running from the solar panels. We were worried about having to potentially move the wires and the box, but Robert and Sean assured us that it could be done without much fuss. Not only did they come over and quickly remove the shielded wires, but also, they came back after the window install and carefully and thoughtfully positioned the shielded wires around the new window frame.

We’ve had an amazing experience with Sun Driven from our first visit to now, and we are genuinely grateful for how dedicated, kind, and helpful they’ve been every step of the way. We explored two other local options prior to our choice to go with Sun Driven, and we know without a doubt we made the best choice. Hopefully you do too!
