American Rooter & Drain

American Rooter & Drain is a pressure-sales company masquerading as a plumbing service.

The technician himself was fine. The business practices were not. We were quoted $15,000 for a full re-pipe on a ~600 sq ft house with one bathroom, one kitchen, and one laundry line, a number so wildly inflated it immediately raised red flags.

When we said we wanted time to think, that should have been the end of it. Instead, we were repeatedly pushed to buy on the spot, including being tag-teamed by the tech and someone on the phone. When that didn’t work, they pivoted to financing and pushed us to check a financing company “just to see what we could afford.” They opened the line and requested a credit card without my authorization.

That credit line had to be canceled and resulted in a credit hit, all because they refused to take “we need time” as an answer.

This wasn’t consultation. It was coercion. If you don’t want to be boxed into a massive financial decision through annoyance, pressure, and financing games, look elsewhere.

Edit: This company DID NOT reach out to me to discuss their predatory practice, as they said they would in their response. I lost 44 points on my credit because of them. This is the absolute WORST company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Dominic did a fantastic job with the estiment, checked on the city water line job progress, on time with appointments, etc. Brandon and Ryan were amazing, friendly, and did a well- done job on replacing 33 feet of water line that was built by CBH in 2001, with underrated psi of 150. 250 psi pipe would have been appropriate. My neighbor's house also had the same issue. Brandon and Ryan didn't mind that I looked into the hole in the ground, answered my questions and about the process. Dominic also came back to check on the work outside and in my crawl space, which were all dry :) Jason and the ladies also were fantastic with communication and expressed care. I felt really care about, listened to, and empathetic by Jason and Dominic, which I trully appreciate as a customer who was going through this water line leak trauma that was underneath my front lawn, about 2 1/2 feet away from city water main. Thank you again to all involved with my home city water line repair job. With gratitude 🙏🙏🙏💖💞
