I used this company on my old camper. They were great and came out same day to fix my issue and charged a rush fee which I get as it was same day and didn’t care. I got a new camper and had some issues so went back to them to have it fixed. My wife called in advance and wasn’t told of any extra fee at that point or when they arrived. Then they give her the bill with a $50 service call and another $100 rush fee when it wasn’t rushed we just called to get it fixed. Won’t be a return customer anymore.

I called Generator Jon and he diagnosed my Onan diesel generator that the motor was completely broken. It was better to get a brand new generator if I could find one than to replace the motor. So he called his contact and found the only one in the United States. It came from Portland, Oregon and then was shipped to Boise, Idaho. Jon was very honest and very professional and installed my new Onan diesel generator today on October 7th 2022. I would highly recommend him with any generator service or repairs. Call Jon ,he is the only repair man that I would trust to work on my Onan diesel generator.

Repaired the propane generator on my RV. Came to my campsite and completed the repair less than 24 hours after I called. Kyle was easy to talk to and explained what he was doing and why. I highly recommend them.

John has worked on two motor home generators for me and does an excellent job. He has 25-30 years of experience and its a good thing because my last one was a hard one to trouble shoot. He finally tracked it down to a control box malfunction and got it running perfectly. He worked a lot more hours than he charged me for and told me that he didn't expect for me to pay for his education. His bill was fair. I called GenPlus in Boise to compare and they wanted to charge me 2 hours upfront for diagnosing whether they fixed it or not. Only two guys there work on generators and the guy I talked to sounded young and inexperienced. I'm glad I went with John at Gem State Generators. He stays super busy, so the biggest frustration will just be getting him on your job.

John recently helped me figure out what was wrong with my generator over the phone, I fixed it myself. That is exceptional service. He came highly recommended from my RV dealer. I recommend him also.

They did a great job on our RV generator. Originally took it somewhere else where the issue was misdiagnosed, wish I knew of Gem State Generators earlier. Moving forward, they'll get any of our future needs first.

It is rare to find honest mechanics - he is one of them. He helped us troubleshoot an issue with our generator not starting over the phone. We were scared to follow his direction because we are new to RVs but he said "if I come out to do this for you, it'll cost you $200" so we buckled up and put our hand in our generator - well a few mins later we had a working generator again. Can't emphasize how rare it is to find someone that isn't trying to rip you off and willing to give you free guidance over the phone. SO THANKFUL!

Jon showed up and the problem diagnosed on my Onan 4000 and fixed in no time. I would highly recommend him to anyone having generator issues. Plus he is just a really nice guy, willing to share any information that he thinks you might find helpful.

John stopped by my place to work on my Onan Generator. He was quick to respond to my call, and about as polite of person I've ever encountered. Was really nice that he has a mobile service. I didn't have to take my trailer anywhere to drop it off, making it pretty effortless for me. I'd highly recommend John to anyone..

We were in a RV traveling through Idaho and our generator broke. We got a hold of John at Gem State, and the next day we met him at his shop and he fixed it in about 1/2 hour. He couldn't have made it any easier for us and was super nice about it.

I had three Honda generators that would not start. Two of which had not been operated in over five years. Jon came out and had all three running perfectly in less than two hours. He was very pleasant to work with and was also very efficient. I would highly recommend Gem State Generators for all your generator needs.

Kile Thompson, generator technician, came to our RV on-site to get our generator running again. He was courteous and very helpful. Kile invited me to watch everything he did and explained each step in his troubleshooting and repair. The problem appeared to be small reddish debris getting into the carbeurator. He cleaned it thoroughly and installed a second fuel filter after the fuel pump, since he suspects the debris is coming from the fuel pump. Currently the generator is running great again! Thanks, Kile!

Jon did a great job fixing the problem keeping our RV generator from running correctly. He came to our house, and within 10 minutes had identified the malfunctioning part. He tried to clean the part, but it was no longer serviceable so he had to purchase the part from a business nearby. The new part was slightly different from the original defective part. So he had to modify the required bracket to make it fit correctly. He machined/modified the bracket right in my drive way. It worked great. So save your money, keep your frustration level low and work with Jon if you are having challenges with your generator.

Kyle did an awesome job modifying/customizing the exhaust pipe for our RV generator after it had detached. Works like a champ. His coordination was awesome and his pricing was appropriate. Great work. 5 Stars!
