Reviews of local pros in Addison, Illinois

When our daughter bought her home, my husband thought hiring a landscaping company to take care of her lawn would make a perfect housewarming present. We read really good reviews of Selvin’s Landscaping.
He came out to the house, we discussed the condition of the lawn, liked his ideas and hired him. We were so pleased with the work he and his crew did, that we hired him to perform snow removal as well.

That was 6 years ago and we could not be more please. He and his crew not only maintain the lawn, they trim the bushes and even graded the backyard to keep water away from the foundation. If we have a question, concern or request, we just email Selvin and he gets back to us in a very timely manner.

I've been using Selvin for more than 10 years! His team does a nice job - great follow up with any questions - prompt, neat and timely. The team has been doing my snow removal for years too. How nice is it to wake up to a clear driveway.

Selvin's installed a paver driveway, concrete apron, and drywell (with drainage system) for our house in late 2021.

Dealing with Selvin's was a pleasurable experience. They were polite, hardworking, professional and did excellent work!

They always kept me updated with the work progress, planned next steps and did an excellent clean-up at the end of each day.

I have no reservations in recommending them to anyone.

Always do an excellent job. Are very helpful if there are any problems!!

I contacted Selvin in March for a complete deck tear off and redesign. The project started as soon as the weather permited. There was one small hiccup and Selvin corrected it immediately. He did what he said her would do, the deck came out better than expected! The quality of work was clearly seen and the men were considerate and cleaned up everyday when they left. Selvins pricing was absolutely competitive and he stayed true to his word...no surprises. I would use them again! You won't be disappointed.

I've known Selvin's company for more than 9 years as of Oct 2025. He and his hard working crew have done an excellent job with snow removal, lawn mowing, landscaping and helping set up and maintaining our garden. Selvin and his team are very communicative. They work with me every step of the way on the all our outdoor projects, including backyard design and renovation.

After using Selvin’s for years for snow removal, this year I had them rebuild my garden area. They did a thorough cleanup, built all new raised beds and filled them with quality top soil. The crew was kind and did a great job cleaning up. Highly recommend and I can’t wait for planting season.

Excellent service and competitive pricing.
They showed up on time and did a great job on the maintenence of our landscape lighting.
They are very customer oriented, which in my opinion, is lacking with many companies today.
I will certainly use them again with no hesitation.
They care about your satisfaction.
Thank you Selvin for a job well done from begining to end.

Selvin’s had the best price. Our retaining wall repair project took two days to complete with a three man crew. The team that worked on our project was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. When the project was completed, they made sure the yard was cleaned up and tidy before they left!
I highly recommend Selvin’s Landscaping.

Pretty happy with the work that was done. The new fire pit looks great. Selvin Jr was very professional through out the process. However, there were some coordination/schedule issues and I had to spray the area of work down with weed killer myself because they were growing through the mulch a week after the project was completed. But seriously, the fire pit looks great!

Preparing a 2 acre property for home sale. Selvin’s team is fantastic. Incredibly high standards. The final product exceeded my expectations

Sharing this review for those considering their services.

We initially had a positive experience with Selvin Landscaping during our first conversation to get an estimate. However, after the site visit, communication quickly became an issue. Response times were poor, and there were delays in providing the estimate, despite initial commitments. Additionally, there was overlap and confusion regarding the project design, which made the process frustrating.

What was supposed to be a straightforward virtual design appointment became unnecessarily complex, and the project was eventually passed along with multiple reasons why expectations couldn’t be met. This did not inspire confidence in their ability to handle a large-scale project. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing, and we’ve since explored other landscaping companies.

They care about their work and pleasing their customers!

We had a great experience with this company. They installed a 400+ square-foot patio plus a walkway after removing a huge tree stump and small trees. It was terrific work. Their workers were considerate. Competitive pricing.

Highly recommend Selvin’s Team for the landscaping work! We had our backyard brick patio with them and they made it nicely. Not just sturdy but also aesthetic enough that blends with our home theme. We are planning to ask other landscaping services from them for our next project! 👍❤️😊

I have had 2 other people to cut my grass. But Today for the first time I have used Selvins Landscaping for cutting my grass etc. Plus various other Landscaping jobs they will be doing for me this week. I am completely satisfied, and grateful, that I started with them. They do wonderful work, they really care and their pricing is very fair/ good. I highly recommend Selvins Landscaping especially to a fussy customer like I am. I'm confident you will be satisfied with Selvins. I have already recommended them to others!

Was given an estimate and went with selvins because I thought they gave me a quote I was kind of expecting. I didn’t call anyone else. I felt very confident in them. Just finished Saturday when it was the hottest day of the year. Mauricio and his partner did a great job. I’m very pleased with the results. Would definitely recommend and use in the future. Thanks

I live in a townhome. I needed a new yard and fence. Selvin’s Landscaping took care of everything. Town home association said the fence was perfect. No hassle, no fuss. The job was done fast and affordable. My fence and yard are beautiful. I would highly recommend this company for any of your needs.

I highly recommend Selvin and his crew. We decided to get our fence with his company and it was such an amazing experience. The entire process was smooth from the beginning to the end of the of the project. We definitely look into getting more of house projects done with such professional and responsible company.
