I love Algonquin heating and air. They always respond to quick service. Bogart and Matthew done an excellent job. Instead of others places wants you to buy a unit. I was surprised only I needed a part. That really impressed me. Thank you for your great service.

Gustavo is remarkable. He figured out exactly what was wrong with my air conditioner and how to get it cleaned. I was very impressed and will tell everyone about how great Algonquin Hvac is.

Summary: Don't trust them. There are plenty of HVAC repair companies. Avoid this one, and find one that will treat you with respect and act with integrity.

Asked their technician to come out to perform an inspection and provide a report for potential home buyers. They failed to provide the service and have failed to follow up on phone calls and emails.

The report was a simple invoice with notes. This would have been acceptable except for the report containing notes contradicting the verbal report the technician gave. They added notes such as "could crack any day" and "recommend replacement" immediately after noting the HVAC system was in good condition. I don't appreciate their effort to gain business at my expense, their dishonesty adding notes to the report they never discussed verbally during their inspection, or their lack of customer service. These issues were shared with them in an attempt to resolve them and they have not responded (phone or email) since they said they would get back to me several weeks ago.

EDIT: In their response, they avoid commenting on their lack of response to phone calls or emails. Life time of a furnace is well known, but the comment "it can crack any day" is true for a new and old furnace, and is asinine to put on a report. It is as valuable as the statement "They can go out of business any day."

Lastly, they lied in their response. They have yet to collect payment as they have not met the terms to collect it: completing the service required.

Lost heat on the evening of 2/12/25 and called Algonquin Heating and Air the next morning.

I spoke to Rose and explained the situation and she had a technician out within an hour.

Bogart, the technician, diagnosed the problem and had all repairs done within 4 hours.

    Bogart was personable and knowledgeable.

He explained everything, answered my questions, and made recommendations for future attention.

Can't say enough about Rose and Bogart and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing furnace servicing.

    TY, Rose and Bogart.

    Stay warm.😎

Short short version- AVOID AT ALL COSTS, THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING
Short version - Despite charging $1,400 for a partial boiler repair, Algonquin Heating & Air Conditioning sent an unqualified technician twice, charged exorbitant hourly rates for ineffective troubleshooting, and argued when I refused to pay for their incompetence. They got their extra $200 and now I write my review.
    Long version:
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience with Algonquin Heating & Air Conditioning. I initially called them when my boiler malfunctioned. The technician who arrived, while friendly, openly admitted he didn't specialize in boiler repairs. Despite this, they charged me by the half-hour while he attempted to diagnose the issue. He replaced a broken fan, which temporarily resolved the problem, but failed to test the system's overall performance, specifically the water temperature. I paid $1,400 for this service.
Subsequently, I requested a follow-up appointment to address uneven heating in my home, explicitly asking for a different technician due to the previous one's lack of boiler expertise. They assured me he was qualified, despite his earlier admission. The same technician returned, clearly still unsure of how to proceed, relying heavily on phone instructions from the office. He bled the lines, but the heating issue persisted, with him concluding the boiler wasn't reaching the necessary temperature.
I refused to pay for this second, unproductive visit, as I was unwilling to incur further charges ($27 per 15 minutes) for a technician who lacked the necessary expertise. The office staff became argumentative, despite my recent $1,400 payment for incomplete boiler repairs. The technician himself, caught in the middle, even asked the office if they wanted to collect an additional $200 from me, despite their failure to properly fix the system. They chose to collect the money.
This company's practice of sending unqualified technicians, charging exorbitant hourly rates for guesswork, and refusing to acknowledge their errors is unacceptable. Their customer service is appalling, and I strongly advise anyone needing boiler or heating repairs to avoid Algonquin Heating & Air Conditioning at all costs. They are clearly more concerned with billing than with providing competent service.

This is Will Pfister writing this review. Algonquin Heating & Cooling installed are new Lennox furnace and AC unit in our historic home in the old town section of downtown Algonquin. Built in 1862. The furnace has been in since 98' and AC unit was installed in Y2K. They also ran duct work for our family room taking it from 3 season to 4 season access.

Great service, very knowledgeable staff and technicians. Minor capacitor issues over the years, but overall fantastic performance for both Lennox units. We highly recommend this business for your HVAC needs.

Just wanted to share something that’s been bugging me a little.
I’ve used Algonquin Heating & Air Conditioning for years and never had a problem. I don’t usually complain — I run a business too, and I know how hard it can be to make everyone happy.
But the other day our AC went out on a brutally hot day. I care for people who are on oxygen, so I called and asked if they could get someone out quickly. They did — a young tech came and replaced a capacitor and rinsed a few leaves off the unit. The whole thing took about 45 minutes.
Then I was handed a bill for $745. I was shocked, but I didn’t make a fuss. I wrote a check, even added a tip. The tech never said thank you — just said, “I probably won’t see that.”
Afterward, I called twice asking for a breakdown of the charges. No response. That’s honestly what disappointed me the most.
I’m not mad about paying — I respect tradespeople and understand emergency service isn’t cheap. But nearly $800 for something that took under an hour and involved a part that costs $25–$45 online? And no follow-up?
I would’ve appreciated just a phone call back. Especially from another small business in Algonquin. I would’ve kept using them forever. But now, I won’t. Not because of the money — because of the silence. Heads up while we are in this hot season. Be well!

Called first thing in the morning, and they're at my house at 9:00AM. Excellent service. Fair Price. Eric (tech?) Was great!
