Reviews of local pros in Bolingbrook, Illinois

Horrible customer service! I should've listened to these other bad reviews!!! I ordered a riser box and lid, using their specifications listed online. The job was delayed, so when we started the job and realized that the inside diameter of the riser box was not as specified, it was not going to work. When I called customer service they said I was outside the 30 day return window, and refused to do anything, even an exchange for the right size box. I STRONGLY advise against using this company even when you think you're ordering something simple like a freaking plastic box. Don't trust their specifications listed online! Terrible company!

I purchased a backup sump pump and an AGM battery. They sent me the pump but I did not receive the $300 battery. They have no clue about the battery but just told me to wait a few days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company.

I had a good experience with Sump Pumps direct in the past. Very disappointed this go round. I ordered four Zoeller pump, switches and stands totaling several thousand dollars. Listed as in stock ships tomorrow, the pumps and switches didn't ship. Four days later they told me check back in two weeks. I placed an order with another vendor then called Sump Pumps Direct and cancelled the order. Two days later I received the switched on a pallet. I'm reasonably sure they sat on the in-stock switches to bundle with the back-ordered pumps and then knowingly shippped the switches to salvage $500 in lost business. I'm sure they will accept the return if asked, but they've created a problem for me because they're greedy.

I was renovating a house and measured carefully the opening where the sump pump was supposed to drop in and ordered the Wayne sump pump online. When the time came to put it in it wouldn't go all the way down in the pit as the narrowed toward the bottom. It never touched water and it was never installed. I put it back in the box and packed it up to return. When I called to see if I could return it they rudely told me it was after the 30 day return window. When I asked for a store credit (I also needed an ejector pump) they said they have no policy for store credit and it was tough luck for me. The pump cost over 500.00! Next time I will buy locally instead of online where people appreciate their customers. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they said there was no one there who would change the decision. Policies are policies I guess. Poor experience. It seemed like I wasn't being heard. Talk to the wall.

I had to find a replacement battery for my Pro Series 2400 battery back up system. A quick phone call to answer some quick questions and I was able to order online and pick it up the next day from the warehouse in Bolingbrook. The entire process was so easy and the people were so nice both on the phone and at the warehouse.

Save your self some time and avoid purchases at Sump Pumps Direct. Terrible experience, they simply cant be trusted to deliver new product. With other vendors available no need to put your self through this.
- I purchased a new sump pump for $1,129.50, the package arrived open and it was clear this was a used product. Package was previously opened, components were cracked, and marks on the pump/pipes suggested it was previously installed. The pump was in such silly condition plumber refused to install the pump. Absolute head ache to now have to go through the entire process again.
Customer service was courteous but lacked any ability to remedy the situation and would not expedite delivery of a new unit.

Our sewer lift pump died a week ago. The local plumbing store quoted us $2700 for a 1HP 230V pump. I found a Little Giant on Sump Pumps Direct for $1025. They overnight shipped it for $198. With tax, the pump and the shipping, we STILL saved $1661. Thank you Sump Pumps Direct!

After reading the reviews on this company, I was a bit concerned, but I checked The Better Business Bureau website and they had a AAA rating. I contacted the manufacture of the back up pump I needed and they suggested purchasing from Sump Pumps Direct because they had the item I needed. I went ahead and ordered online the item I needed. It was shipped the same day and I was able to install quickly and was up running in no time. They did a great job getting the item I needed quickly and without a problem. Too bad some people can’t leave a good review and only complain about bad service.

I recently received a sewage pump and the box was damage by FedEx . I never opened the box and sent it back on a timely manner before the date needed. I receive an email they received there product back before the due date . I only got a partial refund because the box was damage which was done by FedEx and they claim the pump has scratches and small damage . I never open the box and if the pump was as they say then they sold me a used pump. Now they want me to recoup some of my
Money from ups cause I got insurance when I sent it back .save your money don’t buy from this company . -
I paid $152 for NEXT DAY AIR. They called me the next day and said that the pump was not in stock and wouldn't ship for another week. So I told them I wasn't paying for next day air. They STILL charged me for next day air and wouldn't refund it, even though I got it over a week later. They lied and said that I had not ordered the pump the week before, because they changed the date on the order and charged my card when the pump shipped.
These people are liars and the customer service is horrible. I took my business elsewhere. -
Similar to other reviews, this company mails you used products labeled as new products that are broken and then blame it on FEDEX and say you need to check with the manufacturers warranty. In my case this was a Zoeller Propak sump pump that cost $1,235.25. There is now way FEDEX had anything to do with this as the exterior box had no problems however all interior packaging was opened and ripped. The PVC pipe on the pump appears to have been previously installed and was cracked. This caused my plumber to have to go to Home Depot and repair the pump delaying the process and costing me additional money. This company does not care and will not offer you a discount. Find the product from somewhere else. The credit applied was not enough to cover the actual cost of the damaged product repair.

Our water heater broke and I called that evening. Next morning, Courtesy replaced the water heater. Thank you so much for getting us up and running again!
-
I gave 5 stars even though I think the price was very high for the 20min work but Nick was a very professional and knowledgeable worker.
-
Had a really minor toilet clog. Courtesy Plumbing came and resolved the issue very quickly. We have used another company in the past and they were extremely overpriced. We will stick with Courtesy in the future. Why waste time calling someone else. Thank you Courtesy for being helpful and reliable. Mickey was terrific and extremely helpful. A win/win
-
Super quick response and repairs was just as fast. The company itself and plumber were a pleasure to work with and high recommend and would do business again if need be in future.
-
Great service! Everything was communicated before the work started. (new garbage disposal, blocked drain, bathtub faucet replacement) The work was completed quickly and everything was left clean. Mickey was very friendly and personable, AND I felt very safe having him in my home. Would definitely recommend this company.

Dave came to my house and checked out why water was rushing outside when I was doing my wash. He took pictures and explained it thoroughly. He was very courteous! Thank you!

Nick did an amazing job fixing our clogged sink. 10/10 customer service
10/10 job well done
Thank you Nick! -
I would like to preface my review by saying that this is not so much a negative review for Courtesy Plumbing as it is an educational one for someone that may be in the same situation.
I had a water heater installed by Courtesy a little over 1 year ago but noticed that the hot water was never quite right (it would start hot and then fade to luke-warm very quickly for a 40 gallon tank). Recently, my friend suggested that we flush the tank to see if it was sediment build-up leading to the issue. While flushing the tank we realized the hot/cold lines had been installed backwards. My friend suggested we reverse the lines but to call Courtest first to see if they could repair.
The technician was very friendly in explaining that if we reversed the lines that my whole plumbing system would be reversed and that my faucets would now run hot water when turned on cold (and Vice versa) and that I would even have hot water in the toilets when flushed. He instead suggested that we would need to start taking walls apart to find where the lines crossed to fix the issue, potentially costing thousands of dollars.
Instead, we went with our instincts and used Sharkbite Max water heater connectors to reverse the water feeds into the water heater. This completely solved the issue without any of the reversals in hot/cold water that the technician was suspecting would happen.
Again, I’m not claiming any dishonest practices by Courtesy or the technician. I’m simply putting this out there for people who may have the same issue and are searching for professional plumbers. It ended up costing me roughly $50 and about 30 minutes of work versus potentially a few thousand $$$. I’ve attached photos below to show the before and after. The first is how the water heater was initially installed. The second is with the cross-over to correct the hot and cold water feeds. Thank you Courtesy Plumbing for being respectful while in my home and performing a free analysis of the situation. -
Courtesy Plumbig was probably 5th company I called for emergency water heater issues and they were quickest to come take a look at a problem. Mickey showed up within an hour after my phone call and it was Saturday morning. Great service, fast response, they replaced a water heater really fast also. Highly recommended.

Courtesy Plumbing has the best customer service I’ve ever had the opportunity to experience. Ronnie was very efficient in diagnosing the issue honestly and explained the step by step process that would be needed to resolve our issue. My son and I took great value in the action and advise he provided. Great job!!!
