Landscape Architect reviews in Chicago, Illinois

Well I’m very impressed. I live in the city and was doubtful that my small backyard would be my escape from the hustle and bustle of Chicago. The team worked well together to complete my vision! Highly recommend!

Hoer Schaudt landscaping Achitecture, a team of highly talented and passionate professionals. True artistry is reflected in their design work. I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Hoerr Schaudt for any of your personal or professional landscape architecture needs. The design team is professional, creative, easy to work with and they will go above and beyond your expectations.

Hoerr Schaudt Landscaping is the epitome of beauty, design and function. The quality of their design work speaks for itself. Top-notch quality from experienced designers equates to amazing results! Bar none, the best!

Across the board, Hoerr Shaudt does absolutely incredible work and produces some of the most jaw-dropping and incredible roof decks in Chicago. The principals are some of the most professional, good intentioned business people I've had the pleasure of interacting with.

They always do a lovely job at the properties I manage! They have a lovely, kind staff who are pleasant to work with as well.

Felt constantly lied to. Always an excuse. Was told one thing face to face or by phone and then an e-mail would hit saying the exact opposite. Worked looked okay after corrections, but is already going bad, e.g., sagging fence, gaps in pavers.

Nathan and his team have great chemistry and it shows. I'm very glad a colleague recommended them for our project. Thanks!

Nathan and the whole team were great to work with! They were able to transform our backyard from dirt and weeds to our dream backyard with a patio and landscaping.

We've really enjoyed working with Nathan and his team on the landscaping of our home. We got a great start on the project this year and will continue to work with Nathan Wright Landscape Design next year to complete the vision!

Our garden has never looked better. After years of trying to find the right fit landscaper for our home and garden in the city NWLD hits the jackpot. They have provide incredible service, are very detail oriented, responsive, creative, thoughtful and knowledgeable. We could not be happier and are looking forward to our continued work together.

10/10 for Nathan Wright Landscape Design. They communicated with us the entire time. They handled 3rd party work being done on property and got everything done in a timely manner. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to work with a landscape design team - Thank you Nathan and Team. Everyone is happy with the end result!

We hired NWL to design and install extensive landscaping for our front, back and side yard. The design process was very thoughtful and thorough. Our ideas and feedback was incorporated into the final version and we were given lots of options for specific plants and flowers based on our budget, preferences and their suitability. Installation itself was very smooth and the final product, including a firepit area with a seating wall and the extension of our existing patio area, came out terrific. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Nathan Wright Landscaping to anyone.

Bottom line, there is nothing to recommend this company. You will overpay in order to be deeply and persistently involved supervising correction after correction at each stage of their error-riddled process. For every instance when Nathan Wright himself told us that details matter and how much they cared, there was another foreseeable, preventable mistake made. This included significant additional charges mid-project for having mistakenly under-calculated the amount of dirt required, installing damaged stone and plants, and failing to account for necessary soil retention.

Nothing expresses this better than the planting of a birch tree directly in the path of a fence gate they had installed. It took a few days to get Nathan to come out, make many empathetic noises, and then after a week or so of “thinking about solutions” eventually move the tree out of the gates path. All while repeatedly asking for payment, the only aspect of our project they handled promptly and diligently.

Every stage of our landscape project went wrong. Every stage. The planning, the quote, the grading, the hardscape, the fencing, and the planting all came with one or more large, clear error. Not one of the many other subcontractors we’ve worked with during a six month rehab project made this many mistakes. Not one had to correct so many mistakes or made so many excuses. And not one required so much of our time and attention.

When we were standing next to Nathan, he appeared incredibly empathetic and caring. After he left us, the answers frequently changed. He lost our trust during this process and while I never want to question another person’s honesty, more than once I felt blatantly lied to.

We have used NWLD for many years for various projects in the front and back yard, both landscape and hardscape. The work is outstanding and our gardens are the envy of the block.

Nathan Wright does an incredible job on our landscaping year round. Their attention to detail is unmatched. The flexibility and communication they provide us on the scheduling end is 10/10 as well. Highly recommend you hire them for your landscaping needs!

The whole team at Nathan Wright is fantastic. We've been working with them for 1.5 years, on everything from redesigning our front garden to Christmas containers to Spring cleanup/containers this year. Everything they do is beautiful & thoughtful. Our flower-filled garden is exactly what we envisioned and a wonderful update to our century-old house. (People walking compliment it all the time.) So thrilled we found them.

Nathan Wright Landscaping transformed my backyard into a beautiful, functional space that I now love spending time in. Nathan and his team were professional, attentive to my ideas, and delivered excellent craftsmanship throughout the project. They completed the work on time, within budget, and left everything clean and tidy. I highly recommend Nathan Wright Landscaping for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space.

Nathan Wright has completely transformed our front and back yard! Could not of worked with a better, more hands on group. They listened to all of our concerns and wishes, and delivered a space that will be enjoyed and loved for many years to come! If you're looking for an amazing team to transform your yard for all the better (environmentally & aesthetically) look no further!

Nathan Wright Landscape Design has helped me with our home since we moved in about 3 years ago. They are very professional in their meetings and going over the 'plans'. They were able to make adjustments to help me meet our budget. I felt they took what I envisioned for my yard and made it happen. They were timing with their appointments and careful with our property. The landscaping we ended up with has been easy to care for and looks great season and after season. I have used Nathan Wright Landscaping Design at our previous home and it stood the test of time. I would recommend having them out to your house to see what they can do!

Nathan and his crew did a fantastic job completely transforming our backyard last fall. A year later, our plants are thriving and my family has gotten much use out of it. We had them do a design and install. They were able to work within our budget and creative expectations. Every step of the way they took the time to get to know our wants and needs for the space to ensure a design that would last years. Any questions or concerns that we had were addressed with haste and tact. For instance, after the install, we had an issue with the concrete that they poured in i.e. the location proved difficult to properly shed runoff water. They came out immediately and made time for us in their busy post fall schedule to resolve our issue. Looking forward to having them come back and design our front yard.
