Landscape Architect reviews in Chicago, Illinois

I've had only excellent experiences with Nathan Wright's team for our plant installations. What sets them apart from other landscaping companies I've worked with is the customer service. Peyton and Christine have always been super responsive and pay close attention to our needs.

They're very knowledgeable when it comes to choosing the right plants, and their installation crew always does an incredible job - it's clear they value their customers and take pride in their work.

I am so elated to write this review for NWLD. I feel so luck to have found them, and I wish I'd been able to work with them sooner! They have provided the best investment for my home! People are visiting my outdoor space just to see for themselves, because they don't believe my photos! I want to say additionally: as important to me as the exceptional quality of creativity of design and implementation is the caretaking they provide at every step of the way. They were nurturing and worked with me from design to maintenance, and are so responsive when I have questions or further landscape wishes! I've worked with them for the last few years and will continue to do so. They've been so generous and understanding with breaking projects down into separate years to make them financially feasible. And they are so kind and personable, each and every person in the company. They've been a true joy to work with, and I am eager to continue the last phase of my outdoors projects! Thank you, Ken, Hayden, Christine, and Nathan! And all the many others who have helped along the way! Very grateful!

NWLD has been taking care of my garden for several years and done an excellent job. They keep all my plantings looking great. I would highly recommend them.

After searching for a landscape designer to help realize a vision to fully surround our home in native plants — I realized that many gardens I love in Oak Park were designed Nathan Wright.

What sets these gardens apart? A unique painterly quality with attention to color, texture and detail.
I had/knew many plants to include in the landscape but I wasn’t sure how to arrange them effectively. The resulting garden is beyond expectation in beauty and sustainability. I hope to set an example so that more neighbors will allow their green spaces to help support pollinators and mitigate the effects of climate change. The entire Nathan Wright staff have been amazing - not only fitting a project into a budget, but answering obscure plant questions - but also just being all-around cool people to know.

Absolutely thrilled with the work done by Nathan Wright Landscape Design! Their team transformed our drab backyard into a stunning oasis we love to sit in everyday! The process was creative and collaborative and we loved the recommendations they made . Communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and the execution and buildout was flawless and on time! We couldn't be happier with the results - included before and after photos. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

We worked with Nathan Wright Landscape Design to completely transform our backyard, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the very first call, Nathan took the time to truly understand our vision—turning our simple yard into a year-round oasis. He treated the project like it was his own backyard, designing a space that now includes a stunning pollinator garden, a cozy firepit area, room for our dog, a hot tub, and all the luxury elements like lighting and irrigation.

The plant, tree, and flower selections were beautifully curated by their horticulturist, Hayden, whose passion and knowledge made the entire process fun and inspiring. Ken and the rest of the labor crew were also amazing—reliable, friendly, and a joy to work with.

We absolutely recommend Nathan Wright Landscape Design for any large-scale outdoor project. Their creativity, professionalism, and genuine care for their work made all the difference. In the years we've lived here, I regret not doing this sooner. The investment is worth the energy and joy I get being and even just seeing, the outside! I have used Nathan Wright Landscape Design for multiple projects- all with extraordinary results! From the design of my eco-friendly "pocket patio" using brick pavers and rainwater salvage, to the front yard landscaping with a drought-resistant wooly thyme groundcover replacing grass, to the building of a custom-designed privacy fence, this company has always listened to me an developed a plan that fit my vision and my budget.

Nathan, Ken and the rest of their team were with us every step of the way and really talked through everything to make sure we were all on the same page, and got exactly what we wanted. They really did the job from beginning to end. We completed phase one of our backyard refresh, and are looking forward to the next. We feel confident relying on Nathan’s team to keep things moving, and keep continuity around the project as a whole. They are professional, and would recommend to anyone!
