Darren Gardner is a seasoned professional with 37 years of experience in HVAC work. His prompt arrival at my home, within minutes of scheduling an appointment, impressed me. He quickly diagnosed the issue with my boiler and provided a reasonable quote based on his research. I appreciate his professionalism and trust him to handle all my future heating and cooling needs.

They have a bizarre definition of urgency, with multiple failed attempts over two days receiving no response or assistance. The automated answering system doesn't provide any real support either, as if the "on-call" team is just an empty title. Avoid this company at all costs.

My initial encounter was excellent, but my follow-up attempt fell flat. After my air conditioning unit failed, I reached out multiple times before receiving a response. A service appointment was scheduled, but unfortunately, no technician arrived or followed up as promised.

I had a Goodman furnace installed by this company about 4 years ago, which was already a questionable brand choice. Ever since then, I've experienced nothing but issues with it. The new installer pointed out several critical mistakes made during the original installation, including improper venting via PVC and incorrect pitching of the furnace. This has led to additional expenses and ongoing headaches. I would not recommend this company due to their inability to get even a basic installation right.

I hired Atlas Furnace to clean my boiler, which they did, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by a series of alarming interactions with their representatives.

On Monday, October 21st, 2019, two men arrived at my property and descended into the basement. They called me down to show me some discoloration on the metal panel, claiming it indicated the furnace would break. However, I corrected them - my boiler was actually 14 years old, not 20. The representative then stated that when it gets cold outside, the furnace won't work, and reiterated that a furnace and boiler are essentially the same thing. It's surprising that someone in the heating business wouldn't know the difference.

The representative estimated the cost of the repair to be around $12,000, which could be installed the following day. I wasn't ready to make a decision at the time, but asked my son to discuss it with the Atlas representative. During this conversation, the representative informed my son that furnaces don't have model numbers, only serial numbers.

As the representative was about to leave, he requested my son's phone number and told me he would call back later. I declined, stating we weren't ready to buy a boiler yet. The representative then said I needed to shut off some lights before he left, which I couldn't figure out how to do. Later that day, I discovered the pilot lights were not even on.

I called Atlas Furnace at 12:32 pm and reported the issue with the pilot lights being off. The person on the phone sounded unresponsive and told me they couldn't come back for two hours. Two hours later, I called again, only to be told another two hours would pass before someone could return. It was apparent that Atlas Furnace wasn't busy when it came to scheduling appointments, but only when issues needed to be addressed.

When my representative finally arrived at 7:33 pm, I explained the problem with the pilot lights and boiler not working. The person on the phone responded rudely, implying they were trying to scam me into purchasing a boiler. I immediately cancelled their check, as they failed to fix the issue or even call back after being paid to clean my boiler.

Luckily, my grandson and his friend helped me discover that the gas was shut off on the boiler, preventing it from working. I plan to report Atlas Furnace to the Better Business Bureau and the City of Chicago, warning others not to hire them due to their questionable business practices.

Called Atlas Heating & Cooling last month after a late winter surprise - my furnace decided to give up on me. Noisy and no heat, what a relief they arrived within two hours to sort it out. The team was prompt, affordable, professional, and reliable. I'd trust them with any heating issue - a solid choice for businesses or homes alike.

This company is a disaster after Atlas sold out to Pro Comfort - they're terrible! They showed up for a routine visit and my furnace hasn't worked since. The service rep told me another one needed replacing, but his quote was wildly off, so I got a second opinion. It turned out he was lying. Other companies confirmed it. The worst part is the other furnace still isn't working, and nobody can fix it. I'm convinced the service guy messed it up somehow.

Be cautious with Atlas if you're dealing with a home warranty claim. My experience was frustrating from start to finish. Initially, they found the work order but claimed they'd reschedule for later, only to never follow through. When I called back, they said there was no record of a work order, so I contacted my home warranty provider, who eventually rescheduled using the same vendor.

However, this vendor completely missed their scheduled appointment window and didn't show up at all. I tried again, only to be told that Atlas is currently focused on existing customers and won't be handling any new warranty claims for the next 10 days. When I confronted them about this, they became defensive and dismissive. Their attitude was rude, and ultimately, unhelpful.

I called them for furnace troubles and they were more than willing to assist, even offering suggestions before a visit. The technician was professional and explained what needed to be done. He fixed my issue promptly and provided helpful advice to prevent similar problems down the line. I'm impressed with their service and would definitely choose them again if I need help in the future. Their willingness to work with me and provide expert guidance made a positive impression, making me confident in their abilities.

They came out on an extremely hot day to fix my air conditioning unit, which was a huge relief. Luckily, they arrived promptly at 7 pm after being just a few blocks away, as promised. The technicians efficiently resolved the issue and had me cooling within minutes. I appreciated their friendly and expert demeanor - I'll be choosing them again for any future needs.

We needed AC help in the midst of a particularly scorching summer. Tired of dealing with Skokie Valley, we reached out to GMS instead. They claimed to be overwhelmed, but somehow managed to squeeze us in - we were literally just four blocks away from their office. When Ed showed up, he gave me a plan and invited me to wait for Glen that night, who would fix the issue then. Both Ed and Glen were understanding, explained what they did, and seemed genuinely invested in resolving my problem. I felt like they really cared about helping me.

Our furnace gave out during a cold spell and this company saved the day with fast service. We initially thought it was just a minor issue, but when it wouldn't budge above 65 degrees, we knew something was wrong. They re-ran with a new appointment after I had to cancel the original one. Some unexpected things arose, but they handled them professionally. Their response was impressive and I'd definitely recommend them again without hesitation.

I needed a new gas valve for my furnace, but most heating companies won't sell parts directly to consumers unless you're a contractor. Luckily, Ed at this place does sell to individuals and helped me troubleshoot the issue before even buying a part. After that, he found the replacement valve quickly and it was reasonably priced. What really stands out is how honest and helpful Ed is - he genuinely cares about his customers. His customer service is top-notch, which is rare these days. I highly recommend using this HVAC company; they have an owner who truly puts customers first.

GMS is top-notch. I wouldn't put anyone else in charge of maintaining my furnace - they're dependable, trustworthy, efficient, and do a perfect job on the first try. I have no reservations recommending them to anyone.
