Oven not working. Technician was great. Ignitor was part that needed to be replaced. We were told $150 for repair tech to come out. He charged us $500 to put in the new part, which took 10 minutes, and he said this price includes the service fee of $150, plus the part, and the labor. Afterwards I researched the Ignitor part number, and it's a $50 part. So adding on the $150 service charge takes us to $200. Why was I charged $500? Was his 10 minutes of labor worth $300? We feel ripped off. I can't get through to any live person in the North Riverside office, it's only an AI robot to schedule appointments. I can't get a detailed receipt of our transaction anywhere. I always thought Sears could be trusted, which is why we made the call to them for repair. But taking advantage of people is very bad and I want to share this warning for homeowners. We will not call Sears or shop there again. We have learned a tough lesson.

Marco was professional and prompt. He wasn't able to fix my Bosch oven but that was not his fault.

My experience was not that great. I am a retired Sears appliance technician. The serviceman seemed to have solved the problem rather quickly after diagnosing however, did not stay long enough to test the results. Once the unit was turned on after the repair, and by directions of the technician, he did not remain long enough to see if his fix actually worked. And eventually followed up with an explanation to clean the furnace unit which I would have assumed, in my day, would have been added to the repair job. After testing with the customer and getting their approval, then you move to the next job

Washing machine had a loose clamp and was flooding water out onto the floor. It was fixed quickly and cleaned up.

Sears/cinch home warranty is great coverage for multiple items that need repair for a great price and each tech that comes out are great and knowledgeable.

Scheduled service for 10/8/25 between 1-5. Around 4pm I received a text stating they re-scheduled service for 10/9 between 8-12.

No one showed 10/9 either. No communication other than automated emails, including one saying they were happy my appliance is back up and running (it wasn't).

I took time off work over 2 days for these scheduled repairs, you should not screw around with your customers like this with 2 days of no-calling/no-showing.

Obviously going with someone else for this issue and will never trust Sears Appliance Repair with my time and business again.

The technician did not realize the scope of the job. He took apart more than he needed to. He cracked the tub from hitting it with a small sledge hammer. He said he was taking the parts with him, but he did not. This was all after 6 failed appointments with the service. Their fault / Not Ours.

I recently had a technician come out to diagnose my refrigerator, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. He barely inspected the appliance—he didn’t bother looking behind the refrigerator, never checked any components, and simply touched the fridge and checked the temperature. After that minimal effort, He quoted me an extremely high price far above the average market rate. The quote made it feel like he was either trying to take advantage of the situation or had no interest in doing the job, so he inflated the price just to collect the service call fee.

I always appreciate fair, transparent pricing, but this was neither. I would not recommend this technician, especially for anyone who isn’t familiar with appliance repair costs. Be cautious and get a second opinion you may save yourself hundreds of dollars. I did not get my refrigerator serviced however the quote was 1,418.75!

I wanted to give zero stars but had to give one so my review can be posted.

Great services. The technician was running behind BUT he was determined to get this job done so we wouldn’t have to reschedule and that was very appreciated. He came and got it done quickly and was very informative and told us how to do self maintenance on our appliance . I was shocked to hear how we neglected our duties. Very polite and professional. Do not stress out sometimes jobs take longer so be patient.

Had a great experience with Sears Appliance Repair! Price was great, results were great! Buy a new appliance for over $1,300 or get this one restored for under $300? Easy answer. And the 2 techs who came were professional, personable, caring, even chatty and fun. The computerized system of giving us notices and taking in information from us was great too.

I booked an appointment for a washer repair and received a window of 1-5pm.

Originally it said 220 to 312 for service arrival. I saw the A&E factory truck pull up across the street and sit there for a half hour.

I opened the door for my nephew who is coming in didn’t approach the truck because I assumed the worker may have been on break. I kept checking the status it said arrival between 331 to 4 pm. Suddenly, I get a notice that I wasn’t home.

    The audacity!

You can’t get through to anyone on this service, it is a nightmare I would not recommend.

Did such a terrible job and the workers don't know exactly what they were doing. I don't recommend them to anyone.

I wouldn't recommend these people for the life of me. These people are scam artists. The guy they sent out was here for 35 minutes. All he did was tighten a screw on my sink, and then take apart my shower handle and break it even more. 110 dollars for 35 minute's is ridiculous. I'm not and never will be happy or give their names to others.

HRC installed a new overhead sewer system in our 1926 home. We could not be happier with the result. We've had mixed experiences with contractors and were a bit nervous to do such a major project with someone we've never worked with before. We couldn't be happier with the experience and the result. HCR was communicative throughout the entire process. The crew was professional and followed all Covid safety precautions. HRC's quote was clear and detailed and they came in on budget and on time. They managed all of the required permits with our village (Oak Park). Like any project, there were a few surprises along the way and HRC managed them with transparency and great communication. They even helped us complete paperwork needed for our village. I would recommend HRC to anyone that is looking for high quality work!
