We have used Juan and his team for all our landscaping needs since moving to Wheaton in 2019. Qualtity work and professional staff!

We've used Golden Sun Landscaping twice already, and we've been very happy with the level of service. Not in the habit of reviewing things, but I had to say something.

In the first instance we were preparing our old home for sale. It needed a lot of work - trees removed, weeding, mulching etc. Juan came in with a specific vision of how to transform the space for affordable price but was very responsive to our questions and suggestions. From there is was a short-turn around and the work was done in one day. The end result was amazing, and had a beautiful pear tree added. Our realtor had high praise for the landscaping and the home ended up selling quickly and at the price-point that we were hoping to get.

We were so jealous of the nice landscaping in our old home that we decided to contact Juan again to beautify our new home. The front of the house is an unusual shape and the previous owner left a lot of overgrown material. Again Juan had a plan - in CAD I might add - to fix our aesthetics and had specific reasons for his plan. We substituted some of the plants, but we were mostly happy to follow his guidance. Since we'd be staying, he also provided care instructions and had a mind towards how it was going to grow up over time. Plants seem resilient in the year or so since. I think I will contact again to help with a new garden area by the shed. We had no difficulties with Juan's landscaping workers, any questions or concerns can come through him and he reaches out to the rest.

One last story. I had a fence scheduled to be installed (different company) where I was responsible for clearing the shrubbery. Well I reached out to Juan in a bit of a panic because the shrubbery ended up being beyond what I could handle. Juan was able to pencil me in last minute, taking out the shrub personally with a mattock! That's customer service.

Our neighbors use Golden Sun, and we had a full, front yard landscape project (bare earth) after a whole home remodel. Working together with Juan discussing design concepts through planning and execution was very easy and enjoyable.
They were able to complete our front yard with amazing sod and plant over 20 plants, then mulch cover in a day and a half (on schedule and at budget). The prices are fair, the work is high quality, and every neighbor has complimented the transformation of our yard. Add me to the list of very satisfied neighbors with Golden Sun Landscaping.

We used Golden Sun to clean up our landscaping after some outdoor work and to install downspouts. Juan was very helpful and responsive throughout the estimate process and provided thoughtful recommendations to make our landscaping better without over charging. His team arrived on time and went above and beyond with the services provided. We would use them again going forward and recommend them for similar projects.

We have used Juan for 10+ years at our various homes in Glen Ellyn. He is wonderful, his crew is respectful, and they do great work. He has done work at our family members homes as well. I would never waste time working with another company if he is available to do the work.

Juan is amazing! He is such a pleasure to work with. He pays attention to detail and provides great quality work and let’s not forget he provides amazing customer service and professionalism!

Juan provided great insight on how we could address drainage issues, and landscape design for our yard, including very professional brick paver work.

We needed our large l patio step replaced as we were having a large party in 5 days and it was a fall hazard. I called 6 places and all said no. Smith brothers said no too but told me to call back if I couldn’t find any one else as they “didn’t want anyone to get hurt”. The came after all, on time, corrected many errors from the original job and kept in continual conversation with me about their work and what they were finding along with pictures. I can honestly say that I have never had such excellent responsiveness from a home/landscape repair service in all my days. The job was then done right and done above my expectations. It was more work than anticipated but they got the work done during their peak season and fit me in. I cannot say enough how impressed I was. They’re customer service is how it used to be. Thank you so much!!!

Had Smith Bros do a lot of work for us. Removed 2 huge dead tress and grinding something like 14 stumps THEN regrade the yard and lay some landscape rocks. Not only was their price the best but the crew was on point and did an amazing job. It was one of the easiest services I've had to deal w/ regarding home projects. Great company. For sure would recommend!

I should have run from the beginning. Lien Smith, manager/owner of Smith Tree Service in West Chicago was extremely cordial in the beginning. After twice cancelling our appointment claiming she “was too busy and that she couldn’t make it” (she was going to come to my home to provide an estimate to me for landscaping and removal of a very large tree), she finally showed up. She promised to provide an estimate to me promptly which she did. Finally, after many emails later (Lien was very reluctant to provide a detailed listing of services to be provide) a service appointment was set. Again, I should have run when I had the chance. After 4 separate service appointment cancellations (Lien had every excuse that you could think of) her crew showed up. Her crew performed most BUT NOT ALL of the work. I phoned Lee that evening to inform her of this (the work left to be performed) and she said that they ran out of time and PROMISED that they would return to complete the job; however, she needed to pick up my payment. She insisted that I leave a check in the mailbox and I reluctantly obliged. ANOTHER BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART! At first, Lien kept promising that her crew would “be there this week to complete the work” (which still hasn’t happened) and then she claimed the work was never “part of our deal”. Now, she has just quit responding to my emails and text messages. A month and a half later, many text messages later and still the job has not yet been completed. The services that Lien agreed to were detailed in an email which I forwarded to Lien (this has also been ignored by her). Her crew just did mediocre work-not as I had expected. You would be much better off paying a little more money for a professional job and to have the work completed to your satisfaction without a HASSLE! Don’t make the same mistake that I did!!!

Lien and her team are top notch! Great solutions, prompt, trust worthy, and genuinely care. Prices seem fair and competitive- but what’s even greater is they stand behind it! Great customer service, shows up ASAP. Can’t say enough about the company. I recommend them to everyone I know. If you have a problem, “Call Lein!” That’s my motto.
