Appliance Repair reviews in Brownsburg, Indiana

Paul Dowdy was terrible tech. Dryer not working. He immediately dismissed it as electrical without actually looking into diagnosing the dryer. Due to his immediate dismissal, I had to pay an electrician to tell me the electrical was fine and it was the dryer. And now they are unable to come back out same day. I attempted to reach out to the local posted phone number, but spent 10 minutes dealing with automated AI garbage before finally reaching a person who could only read from a script and refused to be helpful. What a joke of a company and technician.

Pedro Alvarez was a wonderful technician! I was very happy with the service he provided. he explained everything thoroughly and was polite. He didn't mind answering my questions. I hope Sears will recognize him for a job well done. It is hard to find good employees today and you should do whatever it takes to keep him. Customer Service goes a long way.
The cost for the repair was a huge disappointment but that's not his fault. -
The service man has came out 3 times and I still have the same problem! My stove needs to be replaced! I have company coming over from other states and can’t cook🙁🙁

As soon as he walked it he wanted the service call paid for ,fine, but he looked at our unit for 10 secs said the coil isn’t hooked up I’ll see what we can do. Then who knows how long he messed with it because when we looked out the window 20 mins later he was gone. We had our dog locked up and he didn’t even say he was leaving so we could let her out. He didn’t tell us next steps, how to fix it, if he fixed it, he just left.

I had two repairmen in one day (Sears was unable to send someone who could both do the annual A/C maintenance and the compactor repair). A/C service was fine, but technician on the trash compactor was unable to fix the problem after five minutes of "work" -- then I received a receipt showing no charge, which I figured was fair since he spent very little time and accomplished nothing -- so I was OK that he couldn't fix it as long as there was no charge as shown on the receipt!
But then my credit card bill arrived and showed $100 for that "service". When I called to complain, no refund was available (they offered a second service call, but since their own technician said it couldn't be fixed, we had already ordered a new product. The technician never mentioned the option for a second technician to come or for replacement of the appliance.
With no adjustment to the $100 charge, I asked to cancel the service / monthly plan and was forwarded to someone else and was disconnected on that call, and then disconnected again when I called again -- so disconnectedTWICE !! THIRD person (actually fourth if you count the original person) I spoke to asked why I wanted to cancel (this was the fourth person I'd told the story to them). This last person argued with me for almost 15 minutes and did not listen to my repeated and absolutely unambiguous requests to cancel. in the process they mentioned that the technician said our dishwasher was working fine -- but we don't have a dishwasher!!! Then she then insisted on reading me a long speech about the loss of benefits and the fact that there would additional charges of well over $100 just to cancel! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS PLAN. Sears is inconsistent in its ability to provide service as promised and will not stand behind its service plan.
The company is also frighteningly stupid in its policies -- if they had refunded the $100, they'd be getting $50 a month in continued premiums for far longer than two months. Instead, they chose to keep their $100, charge me more to cancel, and never so much as "we made a mistake" or calling in a supervisor. -
We were connected to Sears Appliance Repair through our home warranty for service on our HVAC system, and the experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Despite receiving multiple email reminders that our appointment window was between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., the technician, Michael T., showed up at 5:45 p.m.
Michael T. "tested" our subcooling levels, asked for his $75 fee, and then promptly got into his van without providing any diagnostic reports with specific numbers. When we inquired about the subcooling number, he vaguely responded with "like 14 ish." This was concerning, as our unit's optimal subcooling level is 10, and we knew from a recent tune-up that it was closer to 3.
After going back and forth with our home warranty to send out another technician, we were unfortunately assigned to Sears once again, with Michael T. as the technician. The arrival window kept getting pushed back, forcing my husband to take PTO for the full day. Eventually, I worked with the home warranty to dispatch our service to a more credible business and ultimately canceled the appointment with Sears.
Our service today confirmed that the subcooling level was under 3, indicating that refrigerant was required. Michael and Sears could have taken care of this for us weeks ago while he was here if he had an ounce of integrity.
Adding to our frustration, Sears operates with an AI-only customer service model, meaning we were unable to connect with a human to request a new technician.
Overall, the experience was terrible. I have advised my home warranty company to bar Sears from their dispatch options if at all possible. Unprofessional and untrustworthy, they seem to be just there to collect a service call fee without providing genuine service. Avoid if you can. -
This technician came bc my AC was not cooling. The first time he was here, he was very unprofessional and spoke poorly of home warranty systems and eluded to giving preferential service to customers "who were not dicks". He also kept ranting about his personal situation with his ex-girlfriend, and bringing up religion.
He could not fully diagnose the compressor because it was frozen, so he put in an order for just the blower. At some point while testing my system he turned on my AC and never turned it off before leaving. After a second visit to complete the blower replacement my AC was still not working. He came back to test and said that the compressor needed replaced, he would put in the claim and be back when the parts came in.
A week later, i am shocked to see that my warranty company has decided not to cover this repair because he had told them that I had damaged the compressor by running the AC on a bad blower. This will be a 10 to 15k replacement now that my warranty will not cover even though the compressor was never tested in the first place. On top of everything, I have been without AC for 4 weeks.
I have since had a very reputable service provider take over, and found that the heat pump was the problem all along! I will be collecting all documentation of Sears so called service, as well as their correspondence with my warranty company, and sending to my attorney. $15k is not small change for me. -
Poor service. Said he was not able to find serial number but it was clearly marked inside the door. Said we should just buy a new washer for a basic repair. $129 dollar spent for nothing. I will now be doing the repair myself.

Left washer unhooked and now in have water everywhere. Pics are after 10 towels of clean up

I waited all day for the service technician to arrive on 7/21. I kept checking the map to see where he was. By 445pm an AI text came in that they rescheduled until the 22nd. The times are 8am to 5 pm. I literally cancelled blood work etc waiting for the guy ( Matthew) on the 21 st and at the last minute they cancelled. Today I got a phone call from a different service tech. He was beyond rude and condescending. I have never been trested like that before on a phone call. I told him we will call someone else. Terrible time with your service tech's.

The Tech came immediately for the diagnostic but once the part was ordered and paid for things slowed down. On my second day of a 8-5 window. Yesterday’s reschedule happened at 4:30. You can’t talk to a live person. The chats only give you a few option to cancel or reschedule.

Pedro diagnosed the issue with my washing machine on 7/23 and ordered parts and scheduled the repair for 7/29. However, no technician came that day and I rescheduled for 8/2. Again, no technician came that day and I once again rescheduled for 8/4. Again, no technician came to repair my washer, and it was rescheduled for today, 8/5. Pedro was the technician that arrived today and my washer was fully repaired in less than 2 hours. I am very disappointed in not being able to chat or call and speak with a person to discuss these issues.

My Techinician, was friendly, very professional and answered all of my questions s. I appreciate the service provided. I would recommend .
-
George was very knowledgeable and showed me what the problem was and fixed it in a timely manner. I will recommend him and Sears for any future repairs.
-
Problem was not resolved. Technician stated since he was not an electrician, he was unable to determine what the issue was - if it was a blown fuse. Resulting in my needing to schedule a follow up appt with a tech who could determine the electrical aspect as to possible problem that’s its not lighting.(2) Day 2.. another tech returned today 12/4; after sharing with him the situation he also stated he was not skilled as an electrician & unable to assess the problem. 12/8.. 3rd tech visit was the same tech who responded on 1st day. He’s not an electrician capable of assessing the problem. Not sure why Sears keeps sending out same level techs who are not skilled to handle appt. System does not offer opportunity to speak to a live agent. At this point I will file complaint with local resources.

Quick repair and advice on the coin stuck in my dryer, the item that the previous repair man ordered was the problem. Donald is great!
-
George was knowledgeable and quick to figure out what went wrong with our ice-maker- highly recommend

The technician, Matthew, does a great job. He's friendly, prompt, communicative and takes the time to explain the needs and repairs.

Communication with person waiting needs to be much better. We had our air-conditioner worked on and had to be put of our house for over 8 days. The first time we received was from 8-9 am. I was waiting in a hot house and they said updated time 11:40am so I remained in the home. Then the time changed to 12:03, but it was 2:30 pm by the time repairs happened which seemed like 15 -20 minutes He only checked one vent, but the others were not putting out the same as the one he checked. Maybe a more thorough check would have been helpful. He was very courteous and expressed he had a hard time getting in touch with Sears himself. Your automated number is definitely a pain.

The end result was great. Took weeks for part to come. Then initial tech could not fix issue but tech who visited today was awesome
