Unreliable unprofessional and unaccountable.

I had a terrible experience with D1 Appliance Repair. They missed multiple scheduled appointments without calling, and when they did respond, they kept rescheduling with various excuses. Despite taking several days off work, they repeatedly failed to show up or resolve the issue. Communication was poor to say the least. I wouldn’t recommend at this point.

More in the recurring refrigerator saga! Continued issues despite their best efforts. Derek and Adam were on the spot, responsive, and made sure to keep in touch through the repair scheduling process. They went above and beyond to make sure the fridge is working properly, and that we are satisfied. I cannot say enough how pleased we have been with this company and the people involved in our service.

See fridge repair below. Had an issue, called, service next day guaranteed. Derek was very clear he wanted this resolved right and quickly. Adam and Daniel came out and made it right. Absolutely the best and most responsive company in the Region!!! If we ever leave our home, we will be sure to leave a list of trusted companies, and D1 is at the top of the list.

From first contact to end of service, this company was professional and responsive. Our technician, Adam, was so courteous and knowledgeable, and talked to us about what he was doing and what to watch for in the future. Excellent service.
EDIT: Needed an additional service to complete our repair. Adam was immediately in contact and got it done quickly. So pleased with this company, and Adam is outstanding.

Had D1 out for a refrigerator repair. Adam was our technician again and provided exceptional service. Will always call D1 first for appliance repair! Prompt response, professional, reliable, beyond courteous, and reasonable pricing. Highly recommended!

Two days before Thanksgiving and the oven is giving off a bad gas smell. Called D1 and they had someone out the next day. Adam arrived right on time, and diagnosed the issue immediately. Replaced the ignitor which was not glowing hot enough to ignite the burner and was on his way. He was polite and efficient. Also appreciate that D1 has a variety of coupons that customers can use. I will definitely use them again!

Always great service. Used them several times over a few years now.

Despite taking several days off work, they repeatedly failed to show up or resolve the issue. Communication was poor, and they seemed more concerned with billing errors than fixing my appliance. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone needing reliable service.

What can I say. I called and was given an appointment day and time. I received several text messages confirming my appointment - between 12:00-4:00 on said day. They were a no show. I understand sometimes a repair may take longer than expected and they may be behind. But I never heard from them. Hmm maybe the next day -- nope never a courtesy call apologizing and offering to reschedule. I would NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!

Edited to add photo of text from company, which is NOT them reaching out to me one hour before the window closed as the owner is claiming below. I had to reach out after the window closed. They never reached out to me to let me know they would be late or not showing up. The owner can't even be honest in his reply.

DO NOT USE!!! This company is extremely unprofessional. They do not show up for their scheduled appointment, don't reach out to their customers when they're going to be late (or in this case, not show at all), and decides it's ok to blow off the customer completely by not responding.

We had service on our dryer scheduled between 12-4pm yesterday. The time frame came and went, no tech. I reached out at 4:05pm (via text as was told to only reply via text). I was told they were running really far behind. I asked what time they would be here. No response. An hour later I was told they were stuck in Munster and would not be able to make it out to Valpo, but they could make arrangements to come the next day (today). I told them we had rearranged our schedules to be available and would also rearrange our evening schedule for them to still be able to come. I said I realized it was after hours for them, but they also need to keep their word and realize their customers made arrangements to be available for their 4-hour time window. We were willing to be available the rest of the night if needed, but we never received a response. I told him how frustrated I was by this experience and asked what time he would be to our house the next day (today). No response. My husband then called this morning, and he was told "It would be in the best interest of us both for us to find someone else to come out." This wouldn't be a problem if dryer appliance repair men were readily available, but now we have to wait two more days before someone can come out because their schedules are full, and this guy screwed us over. At that point we will have been without a dryer for a full week, instead of just a few days. Please do yourself a favor and use anyone other than this company for your repair needs.

On time. Professional. Fixed my dryer in under 30 minutes. Offers a fair and reasonable service plan as well. Highly recommend.

Derek did an exceptional job with our dryer. He was direct, fast and friendly. He explained what the issue was clearly and answered all our questions.

NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY FOR SERVICE OR YOU’ll GET FLUSHED!! Gave me a time slot of 12-4pm yesterday and never showed, only to call at 4:05 (outside the arrival window) ( I took off work 4 hours to accommodate, loss of pay) and say that they can’t make it!! Asked to reschedule for today between 8-10am and I said ok. Taking more time away from work to accommodate their time slot. Sadly once again a no show and no communication. Pathetic service company claiming to be number 1. Please don’t waste your time or money. Sad this is real.

Tech Adam was courteous, prompt, friendly, knowledgeable. Cleaned our 30-year-old dryer, running like new. He will be back Saturday with parts needed to fix washer.

Derek did not know what was wrong with my washing machine. I was advised to record the noise next time it happened and send it, to which I did about 30 mins after he left. He texted back and I responded. That was yesterday afternoon. I have texted him 3 times today since the machine is now worse and he has not responded at all since yesterday afternoon, but was certainly able to cash my service fee check! I don’t even want to give 1 star. Bad business. He even dropped me as a customer - told me to find someone else!

Can’t say enough good things about this company and specifically Derek the tech/owner. Took his time and got the diagnosis right on both problems and fixed same day. Very happy.

Adam is a great repairman from D1 appliance. I would definitely recommend him. He repaired my refrigerator in a timely manner today. He is a very courteous and kind gentleman. Thank you Adam.

Adam was wonderful! He was very thorough and had a lot of knowledge regarding the old stove here. He spoke with my warranty company and was able to confirm what options we had moving forward. I’ll be calling them any time I need something repaired!

I have never written a bad review, but this company was so unprofessional and unapologetic that I felt compelled to. Between three no-shows, confusion over appointment times, which they scheduled, and showing up late with no courtesy call, I was completely appalled. Both my girlfriend and I had to take separate half days on multiple occasions for them to not show up. When this was brought to their attention, they were completely unapologetic and felt it unnecessary to rectify this issue. They did make sure we got charged the visit though, which they refused to refund. They were completely dismissive of our concerns and at end of the day we cancelled our fifth attempt to have them come out here, after going almost a week without a refrigerator! This company should be ashamed of its lack of professionalism and unreliability .

I get things happen, but after multiple incidents, most people would acknowledge the inconvenience at the very least and take some ownership for wasting our time and money.
