Their staff is very knowledgeable, each one well versed in one area of landscape and they take pride in explaining and answering one's questions.

I like the variety of plants that they have. Plus, they have a lot of other landscape item. They have large boulders, lawn statues, and even mulch or gravel. They can come do the work for you, or you can get the items to do it yourself.

I get most of my gardening stuff here. They have just about anything you would need. All the seeds/soil/plants I've bought here have been top notch.

Overpriced. By the time you have to haul the tree/plants, pay for taxes, etc., might as well buy it online and have it shipped. Fast Growing Trees.com has better trees and you don't pay in the 200s for trees.

It was awful, cashier was rude, fast to jump to conclusions and point out where I was wrong. Worst experience I ever had there. To cap that off the rock I bought they refused to load it and just watched me do it.
I could have gone to Menards or Lowe's but want to keep it local, today tested that belief.

I talked to a woman that handles residential landscaping for them. On 2 occasions we set appointments. She didn’t show up for either and didn’t even call. I’ll never use them for anything!!!

Great selection of shrubs, perennials and trees. Just bought a Bloodgood Japanese maple to replace 1 that's dying. Great knowledgeable people.

Very helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. Stephanie was amazing! They'll see me again soon.

I asked one of the women to help me get the flowers in a picture that I wanted to replicate and she picked everything out. If they didn't have it she suggested something similar. She was so helpful!!

We just picked up a Christmas tree and loved the experience. The guys serving chestnuts are hilarious! Thanks for bringing the Christmas spirit to this shopping experience!

Maybe a little better than ok. Helpful service, knowledgeable, according to a novice. Supply seemed adequate for late summer early fall. Plants appear to be healthy.

I come here every year and get my plants and flowers for the summer.

Shop local! The best, most knowledgeable help that you'll never get from some kid at a big box. Prices are about as good too (better on sod and bulk stuff even), don't even waste your time going anywhere else.

Melissa is absolutely the best! Extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of her job she has a passion for. She even alerted my wife Carol and myself of our neighbors (on both sides) improperly read their survey. She is a Landscape Designer that has you back in a new build.

My experience was terrific, I was assisted by Kevin who was extremely knowledgeable with the types of plants I was seeking and the planting and care of them.

I can't speak on their landscape design & construction side of their business as I have not needed service with that department for my home, but I can speak on my experience with their customer service & perennial flower purchases.

For example, a double-bloom cone-flower costs $19.99 at Allen's Landscape while Lowes or Home Depot will sell practically the same exact flower for $13.99. That's a 40% markup from the big box stores folks & their warranty is 90 days vs 365 days at big box stores! It's like that with a lot of their flowers, such as the Foxglove flower. Lowes & Home Depot all sell Foxgloves right now, while Allen's doesn't have any in yet.

Like I mentioned above, the most important thing of all plants is the warranty, which Allen's is only a lowsy 90 days while Lowes & Home Depot honor 365 days without any hassle or issues (unlike Allen's). So let me get this straight, if you buy a coneflower & plant it in July 15, 2017, you then have until Oct 15, 2017 until your warranty expires to figure out if it's dead or not when the plant is going into dormancy mode anyway & you won't truly know if it will re-bloom & survive the winter for next season until that 90 day warranty is long gone. That's a horrible warranty when Lowes & HD offer 365 days with no questions asked or hassle.

Don't believe the other reviews here that say their customer service is great, because about half of the time I call or visit their Highland location I always get the vibe from them that I'm bothering them & then they rush me to get me out of their hair. It's rude & unprofessional & doesn't make me want to come back. In the end, I feel disappointed & don't even want to ask all the questions I have for them when dealing with customer service like this. I have occasionally come across some friendly employees their, but it's hit or miss. It's also hard to find help there as they seem to be under-staffed to save on their payroll expense. Maybe because people like me are wising-up & going where the parking space access, plant warranties, and customer service is better.

Any 5 star reviews here, such as from people who say they're local guides I can almost guarantee don't frequent this Highland location as often as I do or have more experience to speak on. I go to all 3 major garden centers in the area of Lowes, HD, & Allen's all in the say time frames every year & I make the comparisons.

One Google reviewer here who says Allen's has the best shrub selection in the area is just ONE person's opinion, because if they actually took the time to go to the other garden nurseries in the area such as Lowes or HD like I do, they would see that those type of statements are uninformed at the very least and don't mean very much because those comparisons are like splitting hairs regarding actual difference in selection.

Don't get me wrong, Allen's is not a total worthless visit if you need something unique like a specific type of sterile Rose of Sharon shrub or tree, but if you're the typical customer who just visits every summer to plant some new annuals & perennial flowers around their home then you'd be better-off going to the big box stores.

Oh and Allen's will likely reply to my review & try to defend their position with some lame excuse of this or that, but nobody there can tell me what I've experienced first-hand on several occasions across the past 3 years of dealing with them. So don't believe the hype. I finally had enough with them and had to speak my peace as I won't tolerate their negatives anymore. Peace out.
