Landscaping reviews in Westfield, Indiana

Was told by their landscaping team leader that their plants were guaranteed for one year, but 25% of the trees, 30% of the sedum, and all of the roses they planted in January did not survive. When I called them in May, they told me they weren't guaranteed and to talk to tje builder.

Design group took our ideas and were able to work with us on a great design. Installers showed up one day and did a great job getting everything removed and installed per the design.

Extremely unresponsive and unprofessional. We have hired them for irrigation services since last year. They never pick up the phone and never keep commitments. They ask you to email but responses are not on time. Very difficult to know if and when your services will be completed.

Most pathetic garden maintenance service. They are beyond incompetent.
Hope our HOA gives them the boot - had to go out and buy our own mower to mow our lawn as the service we get is ATROCIOUS. Did I mention that we are in a subdivision that is HOA maintained, unfortunately Hittle has the landscape contract, hopefully not for much longer.........

I’m writing you to express my deep disappointment in the matter our lawn is being cut. Your operators go racing through the yard leaving the grass laid down flat instead of being cut. Last year was the same. Nothing has been improved. Very discouraged. I would think a smaller width on the mower and a little slower speed would help.

Our sod was laid horribly and on one of the hottest days necause they were running about 2 weeks behind schedule. We watched the workers drop the sod and kick it with their feet. We now have like 1" gaps between the sod. Looks terrible. 2 of our new trees are dying already. They dont warranty anything.

The quality of work started out shaky this year, with a new crew that wasn’t familiar with Britton Falls, but has steadily improved. The common grounds are beautiful, especially the entrance, and the home edging and mulching looks terrific. We are extremely pleased with the job they did in our yard

We had a very good experience with Hittle. Our original plan was a bit more expensive than what we wanted, but the design team worked with us to come up with something that we really like. The landscaping crew was friendly, professional, and clean.

You guys could cover your loads when going down 37 or any other big roads. I got completely covered by one of your trucks the other day hauling mulch. Plus it's the law to cover any load that could come out of the vehicle. That guy was loosing so much mulch I'm surprised he had any when he got to the job site. As far you you're work goes it pretty fantastic. Never had a problem with that.

Very unhappy with a tree I received in a Hittle landscaping package! I built/moved into a new Pulte home towards the end of August 2016. The tree in my front yard was watered very well as it was also right in the middle of my new sod. So, fall/winter was right around the corner and now it is June and the tree is dead…it never bloomed this spring. I wasn’t all that concerned because I thought surely this tree will be replaced. However, when I contacted Pulte, I was told ‘sorry, can’t help you, Hittle doesn’t provide any warranty!’ The Pulte Rep went on to also tell me that that I could obtain an estimate from Hittle for replacing at my own cost but let me know that there might be more inexpensive alternatives though. Really!?!!? So shame on both Hittle for planting an unhealthy tree and providing no warranty and also shame on Pulte for knowing they were wrapping an over-priced tree into my mortgage and not ensuring I had some type of warranty!

Our current HOA management company is using this company to do our lawn maintenance in Midland Overlook and they are by far the worst, do not waist your money. We have complained many times, as soon as the community takes over management they will most definitely be fired.

Okay, I bought a property from Pulte homes and have been very happy until these guys showed up. They cut off my hose, threw away my sprinkler head, Didn't even tell me and instead just shoved it aside. I am so disappointed that these are the standards that Pulte is working with. communication is absolutely terrible with these guys and I am my neighbors back yards they've worked on looks terrible.

Terrible. We got an estimate on a brick paver patio and gave them our budget of 9k to 12k. They came back with an estimate of $30,000!! We ended up going with Retain It out of Whitestown they were almost half the price of Hittle. Very discouring that there people out there taking advantage of people ripping them off of their hard earned money. Sorry Hittle not today! Thank you Retain It! Their work was amazing.

The mowing crew has damaged my siding numerous times. This last time there is a huge hole in my less than 1-year old siding. The person doing the mowing acts like the zero turn radius mower is a carnival ride! Unfortunately, this company is hired by the HOA. I would have fired them long ago if I had hired them just to do my yard. Hittles is a huge-volume business who wants to get things done quickly so would rather just keep paying for repairs. They actually have a contractor whose only job is to repair siding. He is always busy!

Avoid this huge company at all costs if you value your property.

After seeing the terrible work done by this company on my neighbors yard, I called to try to get an upgrade service. No one ever answered my calls. No one ever returned my calls. They showed up and turned my backyard into "slip and slide". No one was available for communication or follow up. Not impressed with their professionalism. Extremely disappointed. Definitely not recommending them.

Our lawn was installed by Hittle through our builder, Pulte. Despite weeks and weeks of diligent watering and hiring a professional lawn service to treat for weeds and fertilize, the grass never really grew in any sort of significant way. It seems like our neighbors seeded at the same time had similar experiences. Little grass, lots of weeds. According to the builder, we are out of luck.

Update: Several plants (trees and shrubs) have also died.

We had a positive experience from sales to design to installation! We were seeking a backyard landscape to soften the impact of additional traffic and new homes in our area. The sales and design team listened to our needs and proposed a great design that meet with the approval of our HOA. The salesman, Dan, produced some design visuals that helped us anticipate the results. The install team was very professional and responded to our request for certain new trees to be staked to withstand the winds in the landscape area.

Hittle did the landscaping for our new home built by Pulte. Soon after moving in I thought I would call them for additional services so I called their office and left a voicemail but nobody ever called back. I'm glad they didn't after seeing the mess of the backyard have almost zero grass growth since moving in. Yes the yard gets plenty of sun and some shade, we also have a sprinkler water so it gets plenty of water. Not to mention one of the trees they planted in the front yard started leaning over with in a week. There are plenty others in the neighborhood doing the same. One of the trees actually completely fell over. I'm sure I'll get some sort of copy and pasted response to this review trying to rationalize their poor work. Clearly there is a trend as you scroll through the reviews.

Hittle did a HORRIBLE job on our landscaping. Had 6 burning bushes that were dead when they were put in and a dead crab apple tree. My neighbors had the same issue with them. They won’t replace our tree which is frustrating. They did a shotty job on our backyard. Didn’t get any of the rocks out of the back and the seed did not perform at all!! We are now having Engledow Estates in Carmel to come and clean up their mess. They couldn’t believe how many rocks Hittle left. We gave up on growing seed because there wasn’t good top soil die to the poor tilling job Hittle did. The only reason why my front yard took off is because I had Engledow Estates assist us with the fertilizer and care they give their clients. My advice, stay away from Hittle, save your money.

I'm in a newly build home and Hittle was the contractor for the landscaping. They put a tree in the back yard on my fence line. I contacted them and ask them to move it since it was only in the ground for 1 week they offered to move it. It's now 3 months still waiting. I call every week and I'm told they will be out "this week" and move it. No follow up for the delays. Not reliable.

Hittle did the landscaping on our new home. The day we moved in the front tree had lost most of its leaves. A few weeks later it had no leaves. When I called, they transferred me to Dustins voicemail. I left a message and never got a call back. There are 2 other neighbors that also have dead trees in their front yard and they wont replace them.
