We called CinderBox to inspect/repair a gas fireplace that would light but would then go out suddenly. Mike arrived on time, was very friendly and resolved the issue. It was great to have a technician who was both knowledgeable and personable. We will definitely use CinderBox again for any related repair/replacement needs based on our experience with Mike.

We recently used CinderBox to have our chimney inspected since we just moved here from across the country. Seth called me the day of the appointment and stated he could start earlier then our scheduled 1 PM appointment. I worked in the fire service for 21 years, so I had a lot of questions. Seth was professional and patient in answering all of them. His work was efficient and very well done. During the inspection he found one of our heat refractors was cracked even though you could not see it without removing it. Seth likely saved us from a big problem down the road. I highly recommend this company for any of the services they provide. I will be using them for any of my chimney needs moving forward.

I was very impressed with the expert diagnostic work and repair of our outdoor fireplace, which has been mysteriously inoperable for a few years. It was particularly challenging because the model is discontinued, so finding information and parts was… actually I don’t know how Mike was able to accomplish this! We were thrilled to have it working again, but the team took one extra step. They brought a bag of the jewelry media to freshen up the visual display, which had become a little sad after sitting without use for so long. So considerate and proactive! They anticipated that once they had it running, we would want it to look pretty again too.

What impressed me the most was I had scheduled an inspection and sweep, but the tech was honest enough to tell me that we didn't need a sweep. That saved me $80, and earned them a consistent customer. Seth, our tech, was very clear in his descriptions and helped give me an idea of best use as well as the types of repairs that we can expect in a few years. SUPER courteous and professional. He explained everything to me as he did it. Some companies dislike that, but it is important to me to understand what is happening. BEST SERVICE TECHNICIAN EVER! Mike was so friendly, professional, polite, and extremely knowledgeable about all things fireplaces. I had so many questions about our vent free set (installed prior to knowing about Cinder Box) and Mike could give me easy to understand answers for all of my questions. He inspected our fireplace set and was very thorough. Cinder Box has been the best from making the appointment to the end of the service. Very reasonable for the knowledge given by Mike to improve our fireplace for the most enjoyment. I will be running by the shop to buy some black embers too.

Shane came to our house and did a fireplace inspection for us. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and on time! He charged us very fairly and only for the services he provided! Since we are new to wood burning fireplaces, he also took the time to explain what levers to open/close, the appropriate moisture the wood we place in the fireplace needs to be, as well as how often to clean the chimney. I would definitely recommend CinderBox to anyone needing an inspection or repair and will be using them again in the future!

Could not be happier with this company. I am new to the area and chose CinderBox because of their high quality reviews and 4.9 rating online. It was late fall, they were very busy and had somewhat of a waiting list, but it was worth the wait. The scheduler Jeff was friendly and courteous. The service tech, Mike was outstanding. He inspected our chimney in a home we just purchased. . Mike was knowledgeable, thorough and straightforward. He stayed while we started a fire, gave some helpful tips and made sure all was working well. Service call was $145, which I felt was very reasonable. Honest work and no up sells. Will definitely use again.

The Cinderbox is an amazing company. From start to finish and beyond. They scheduled us quickly. They kept us informed with email and text about our appointment.Their excellent customer service is profound. Our technician Seth walked us through all our choices. He explained in full detail the current state of our system and how to safe guard our home.He showed up on time with such bright and cheerful professionalism. He worked hard all day long while keeping us informed with pictures of his findings and his resolutions. The quote they gave us remained solid with no unexpected expenses.We were given itemized and detailed documents about all materials and labor.From tear down , set up and finish everything was clean and tidy. We went from a huge fire and safety hazard to a safe beautiful working system.

I had Seth come out from CinderBox to give me an estimate on a wood burning insert. I had done some research so I had a bunch of questions for him. Seth was very knowledgeable and could answer every question I had. They had some great recommendations for additional work for the longevity of the chimney. Other places may try to upsell you and push for you have major work done that isn't necessarily needed. Seth was not pushy at all with any major work, simply pointing out that some preventative maintenance could go a long way with some of the issues I have on the exterior of the chimney. I have had them out before to do an inspection on the fireplace when we bought the house. His recommendations were in line with what the initial inspection report stated. I highly recommend CinderBox for anyone. They are a CSIA Certified company not just an ordinary chimney sweep. Kuddos to them for helping me along my path to get my fireplace to the point I imagine it being.
