Interior Designer reviews across the US

I highly recommend Shepherd Sterling to anyone seeking excellent interior design services. My wife and I agree, the Shepherd Sterling team was a dream to work with. Cherisse is an extremely talented designer and her imagination, creativity and attention to detail was a very big help. She is professional, resourceful, trustworthy, and easy to work with. Her customer service and communication is first-rate. Her services and creativity have been instrumental in achieving our dream home. She essentially helped design every room in our whole house. Keeping our budget in mind, she helped hone in on our style and picked out the perfect furniture, art, and accessories. All the while, really listening to us to construct a vision and collaborate on ideas. We are beyond thrilled with the results.

If you are looking for a high-level, experienced interior designer who embodies customer service and excellent design, contact Shepherd Sterling.

We've worked with Shepherd Sterling for two different projects--one bathroom remodel and a complete kitchen re-haul. For both projects, their guidance on both design and practical, usability matters was invaluable.

The kitchen project in particular was a big undertaking. Throughout the process, Shepherd Sterling worked hard to forge a partnership with us, and arguably more importantly, our contractor to design and build a kitchen that matched what we had envisioned & would work for our family for years to come.

We're very happy with the end results of both projects and would recommend their work.

We had the pleasure of working with Cherisse and Shepherd Sterling recently. They helped us design our living room and dining room. What made our project unique is that we really wanted to showcase our existing art and incorporate some of our current furniture and tie it all together in a cohesive way. Before, every designer we talked to just wanted to give us a cookie cutter design and just didn’t listen to our needs until I met Shepherd Sterling. They took the time to really understand our style, our needs, our budget and gave us exactly what we wanted and worked incredibly fast. The end result is gorgeous, functional and very personal to us. We loved getting the expert design guidance and she was amazing at explaining her design strategy and really listening to our feedback. I absolutely love our new space, loved the whole experience and would highly recommend Shepherd Sterling for your design needs.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with the Shepherd Sterling team for a complete overhaul of my living space. I approached them with a vision for a modern, minimalist, and cohesive look - and they exceeded my expectations.

From the get-go, their keen understanding of my style was apparent. They took my abstract ideas and translated them into a tangible design that not only represented my aesthetic but also introduced me to new ideas that I hadn't considered. The furniture they sourced was not only beautiful and high-quality but also perfectly suited to the overall design.

What sets Shepherd Sterling apart is their ability to build something beautiful and cohesive. They seamlessly blended colors, textures, and styles to create a space that truly feels like me. Since the redesign, I've received countless compliments on my apartment decor and style, a testament to their meticulous work and creativity.

But what impressed me most was their professionalism and personal touch. They made the design process not just stress-free, but also exciting. It felt like a collaborative journey, and the result is a living space that I absolutely adore.

If you're seeking an interior designer, I cannot recommend Shepherd Sterling enough. Their understanding of design and commitment to their clients is truly unparalleled. They’ve shown me that everyone should invest in a space that makes them happy - and with Shepherd Sterling, you're sure to get just that.

Shepherd Sterling transformed our combined living room and dining room into a stunning space fit for entertaining and relaxation. We were looking for a fresh, modern but warm look that blended into the architecture of our home, and they exceeded our expectations. Cherisse and her team carefully considered our preferences, focusing on tastefully incorporating pops of color, and maximizing our space.

What impressed us most was their skill in integrating a challenging piece, a chest of drawers we already owned, seamlessly into the design. Working with Shepherd Sterling was a pleasure from start to finish. Their attention to detail, creativity, and ability to bring our vision to life is commendable. They checked in with us as our pieces arrived to make sure we were happy with the end result. We highly recommend their services and couldn't be happier with the outcome! We hope to have them help with other areas of our house down the road.

We’ve worked alongside Shepherd Sterling on several projects, and they’re consistently thoughtful and organized. Their plans are clear, and lighting layouts and fixture selections are well considered early, which makes coordination straightforward and avoids unnecessary revisions during the build. They communicate clearly, understand how electrical details affect the overall space, and are calm and respectful of the trades. That level of preparation and early coordination helps keep construction running smoothly from start to finish.

Amity did an amazing job with our kitchen renovation. She came up with 3 plans that were fantastic. We ended up choosing items from 2 different plans and designing our kitchen. We had a few problems/issues and she worked with our contractor and the cabinet provider to come up with solutions to fix the issues. She suggested that we have art work on the two kitchen walls with special lighting. I was hesitant as I had no desire to put artwork in the kitchen. Amity came up with different ideas on the art work for the two walls and I am so happy that we went with it. It makes a huge difference. She planned out all the electrical too. I could not have done this without her help and guidance. If you need help in a remodel of any sort, I would recommend that you contact Amity and start there.

JL Studio Design exceeded my expectations. Their ability to combine functionality with beautiful aesthetics really stands out. My space feels both practical and stunning.

Great and meticulous work and service, very responsive and attentive. Very professional crew. We would use Jorge and team again!

Jorge has a great eye for design and is at the same time highly organized and attentive to detail. In addition, all of his sub-contractors and tradesmen are top notch. On my project he seamlessly incorporated my vision with his expertise. I'm very pleased with the final result.

If you're familiar with the saying, "If it's not broken, don't fix it", the truth of that statement completely embodies how I feel about working with JL Studio Design.

In 2021 they completed a gut renovation of our apartment in North Miami Beach. They nailed every vision I had. An open plan space suitable for entertaining and a bedroom and bathroom that felt like a tranquil escape.

Then in 2025, we decided to purchase a larger apartment and worked with them again. This apartment can be summed up in one word. Epic.

I often say that working with Jorge feels like communicating with someone who is in my head.

He would quite literally take my thoughts and execute them in reality.

His taste is unmatched to where I would refer to him before even the seemingly smallest details. Why? Because in the end, the little things become the bigs things, and how you do one thing, is how you do everything.

If you're interested in creating a home, where details matter and you would like to wake up every morning, being grateful for where you live, then look no further. You've come to the right place.

Jorge is exceptionally professional, highly responsive, and possesses an outstanding sense of design and aesthetics, always tailored to the client’s personal vision. He oversaw the complete renovation of my 2-bedroom, 2-bath residence in Miami Beach, coordinating the entire project while I was abroad — a process that requires absolute trust and precision. His on-site management was seamless and constant. The A/C and electrical systems were entirely re-engineered with exceptional results. Jorge is meticulous, detail-driven, and an excellent communicator, delivering work that meets the highest standards. Simply the best in the area.

Ashely was great to work with on the design, more money than I ever thought I would spend on a closet, but it does look great. Installers were fast and professional.

We are finally organized and very beautifully at that. Our closet is gorgeous so I just want to sit in there and admire it. The garage looks fantastic too. Thanks, Gwen, for your wonderful designs.

They were very understanding of the situation I was in, with a cluttered dirty house. They were always polite. They were super fast at install. I love how organized my sons room is now that I have a place for everything. My only complaint would be that I wish they had taken the time to demonstrate for me how to change the shelves and poles. I figured it out but it would have been much quicker if they had showed me.

We love our closets made over by California Closets. My bedroom closet stays perfect, no more messes. And the entry closet is now usable. It used to be a long dark unusable hole.

I’m in desperate need of storage space and my home reflects it. Amy made me feel at ease, hopeful and not judged. She is confident and excited to design functional work space for my home keeping in mind my unique needs and wants

Amy, the product, and the two installers were great!

Amazing experience from start to the end. Professional consultation & install 👌

Amy designed our pantry, office, closets and laundry for our new construction in 2006. I called her for an office update and she is working on that for us now. California Closets is wonderful to work with; Amy is personable, professional and knowledgeable.
