Interior Designer reviews across the US

I bought four chandeliers from Shawn. After waiting several months as he ships from China, three of them came in with very poor quality and not like the pictures at all especially the gold color (very cheap yellowish color not gold whatsoever). The fourth chandelier was completely different than the one we ordered. After explaining to Shawn, he ordered another one, after waiting several months again, we also received the wrong order and was completely different. My wife and I were frustrated as we stayed without a chandelier for at least four months waiting for the right one that we ordered. We completely lost confidence as Shawn deals with China and it's a hit and miss honestly. Shawn didn't agree to refund us the money until we ship the two chandeliers and we paid $100 for shipping. He kept saying he has low profit margin and it was a complete lie as it turned out that he tried to return the chandelier to China and instead of the manufacturer negotiating with him they mistakenly negotiated with me and I received the invoice from them, the chandelier we bought from Shawn was for $635 and he bought it and shipped it directly from China for $200. Shawn refused to return the other three chandeliers, we wanted all four to be the same style and color because three of them go over the island in the kitchen and the fourth one goes over the kitchen table. We sent him a picture and explained that we need all four to be the same. He was just not willing to return them. Now we are stuck and we don't have a choice but to throw away the remaining chandeliers. We lost hunderds of dollars. I wouldn't risk dealing and buying from Shawn as he deals with China and you are at a 50/50 chance of not getting what you see in the picture. The quality is certainly poor no matter what you get. Avoid!!!!

Shawn did an amazing job. Nobody believes 1 man was able to hang a 300lb chandalier 20ft in the air by himself. I was there, he did just that with all the right tools in tow. To top it off he performed the total installation (including reinforcing ceiling bracket via attic in less than 2 hours. I look forward to working w Shawn again.

Shawn installed a new chandelier in our entryway and couldn't have been more professional and knowledgeable. Had tried and failed previously with standard electricians. Definitely recommend him anything lighting related -- particularly chandelier work.

It has been a pleasure to work with Shawn. In addition to being extremely professional and well suited to handle many of the issues needing attention on my list he was also able to solve some very tricky and troublesome installations in my house. He is a gem of a guy and knowledgeable and reasonable. I will certainly call on him again and do strongly recommend him.

Tremendous work by Shawn; a true professional who's depth and breadth of specialized knowledge resolved a dangerous situation and possible injury causing accident by a large, heavy chandelier. Straightforward, honest, trustworthy are three words that come to mind when describing Shawn and his operation. Super capable-- don't hesitate or think twice when his services are needed!

Shawn is wonderful. I was in a bind with a move in progress and he was able to shift things around and come take down a crystal chandelier, move it to my house 2 hours away and reinstall it. His services and expertise are the best. I highly recommend him!

Our Household refers to Shawn Penoyer as ‘Chandelier-Shawn’ - He’s The Real Deal!!! ......we had just moved into a new Midtown Condo and were nearing the final touches....one of those items was the dining room chandelier. Shawn covered all the basis from assessment and diagnostics, to the install and final perfecting touches to make it the most perfect installation. One of the areas that Shawn identified as needing immediate attention was the ceiling mounting bracket — it was both bent and not load-bearing worthy of the chandelier that would be hanging above our glass dining table. We now had peace of mind about it’s installation and remaining in place. On the other end of the complete installation, Shawn also paid attention to the finest of details in making sure that all the Crystal bars were perfectly uniform .......so I’d stress the importance of Shawn’s overall attention to detail whether it’s the big things like a mounting bracket or the alignment of the crystals shaping out the chandelier. It takes this kind of vision to translate into a very satisfied customer experience. Thanks Shawn !!!

Shawn is awesome !!!! When I first met him it was as if I had known him for years. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and personable.

I called him to remove an existing chandelier and hang a chandelier I had in my previous home.
The person that uninstalled and boxed my previous chandelier was not as knowledgeable and haphazardly boxed the chandelier. This chandelier had many pieces and parts to install. Shawn was very patient and did not become frustrated with this tedious process as he found all of the pieces to assemble the chandelier. He was very engaging and asked my opinion about what height I wanted the chandelier to hang. Since he is the expert I followed his suggestion and of course he was right. While he was at my home I asked him his opinion on what type of chandelier to hang in my dining room. His suggestion was perfect and while I was out shopping I found a chandelier that I thought would look beautifully in my home. I texted Shawn a pic and he agreed. He graciously hung the second chandelier the following day. I am so grateful to Shawn for transitioning my living space into a charming and beautiful place to relax.

Shawn took the time to educate me about hanging and removing chandeliers in addition to boxing and transporting them. I highly recommend Shawn if you are looking for a reliable and trusting person to hang a chandelier.

Shawn did an amazing job with the installation of our chandelier. He was promptly on time and efficient with installation. He also went out of his way trying to match the paint color on the ceiling. No crystals were harmed in the process.

Shawn was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent service. He was on time, adhered to all COVID protocols and completed the job very effectively. I completely recommend his services and definitely plan to use him again. The fixture I had installed required a high level skill set and Shawn had all of the necessary skills and experience to do the job.

Shawn, was GREAT!!!
He installed a Chandelier in our foyer. He was very knowledgeable. We felt so much better, considering we hired another company at first call Sam's Electrical. The worst decision. But Sean fixed any and all problems that they left behind. The nstall was fast. I would recommend him. He Is Top Notch!!!!

I had a fairly tricky install of a chandelier that was 100+ pounds in a 20 foot high foyer. Shawn confidently explained how it needed to be hung, including reinforcing securely in the attic, with safety as the first priority. He was very professional and responsive throughout the process, and showed up on time with all required equipment. The price was fair considering the scope the job. I would certainly recommend Shawn to anyone looking to hang a chandelier.

Shawn did an outstanding job with the installation of two large crystal chandeliers. We were impressed with his efficiency and the quality of his work. We found Shawn to be very dependable, professional and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend him.

Shawn installed two large and several other chandeliers for me. My home has 9-foot ceilings and the foyer and living room have 18-foot ceilings. He also installed power-lifts for the high chandeliers so I can drop them to floor level for cleaning. I contacted other companies that said they install chandeliers but only heard back from one 5-months after I first contacted them. Shawn returned my call promptly. He did an excellent job and provided prompt service. Shawn also has completed other work for me including hanging a large tv over a fireplace and replacing a built-in outdoor grill. I will use Shawn Penoyer for future projects around my home.

I needed Shawn to hang a new chandelier in my home and he is both efficient and professional. He was able to share some tips for keeping the new fixture clean, and also answered some other questions we had about our new home. We will definitely call Shawn in the future as he seems to be an expert in a variety of capacities. Warm, friendly and helpful round out some of the best qualities of Shawn and his business practices.

Shawn saved the day! We needed our beloved chandelier transported to our new home and had several challenges finding someone reliable to do the job in time for our closing. Shawn came highly recommended by the lighting store where we purchased our fixture. Boy, we’re they right. He was fabulous!

After Shawn gently and deftly removed our light, he delivered and installed it with expertise. He even shared great tips on keeping it sparkling and looking great. Working with Shawn was a delightful experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for help moving your chandelier, I highly recommend Shawn's expert service.

Shawn did an excellent job and was certainly meticulous in his work. I shall definitely be recommending him to all my friends.

I recently had Shawn install a light fixture for me. He was great! Very professional and friendly. He had to deal with some non-standard wiring in my condo and was a real pro - knew exactly what to do. I will always reach out to him first for any lighting work.

Shawn was absolutely amazing. He is prompt, professional and provided top notch work. Hands down this company is the only one I will use for future services as he does it all and does it all VERY WELL. My chandelier was shipped missing a key element to hanging it. A piece that was not readily available at a store or Home Depot but Shawn’s knowledge and expertise made the part that worked better than the missing piece. This is service beyond expectations… I look forward to outfitting more areas of lighting in our home and calling on Shawn to bring my dream lighting and electrical needs to reality. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
