We decided to build with redwood homes after looking at a few spec homes and noticing the quality and attention to detail right away. Their standard features alone are impressive (9ft ceilings on each floor makes a world of difference!) but really every house we saw of Adam’s impressed us. We ended up falling in love with the perfect floor plan for us and worked with Adam to tweak it to fit our needs -which was such a seamless process! During the build, Adam was on site daily checking on the progress and was super hands on. If we ever had a question he was very responsive and if there was ever an issue Adam had already noticed and was on top of getting it fixed. We truly felt like we were his only clients. We weren’t just blown away by Adam, but also every single one of his crews he had out at the house, as well. They all showed great attention to detail and strived for a quality built home and were also the hardest workers. They don’t just throw up things carelessly. We were constantly impressed by all of the crews! Even after closing on our home we cannot get over how our experience just continues to get better. Redwood offers multiple walkthroughs during your first year to fix any issues that may pop up and Adam is always there with any questions, as well. When you build with redwood you really are in the best hands possible with Adam and his crews. We are so beyond happy with our new home thanks to him! I cannot recommend Redwood enough.

My husband and I got a chance to build a custom home with Redwood Builders and had nothing but a great experience. We took our time and looked at a couple houses they did before making the decision and we are so glad we chose to go with them. The staff is beyond wonderful, from Adam (the owner) to explaining everything in detail and Emma Stern with Ankeny Real Estate Group who helped with everything from selections to answering all my questions and annoying texts. The real wood trim is something not all home builders do which we loved. Every step of the process was enjoyable and we even got to see the owner do actual work on the house which is not something you see very often. Most importantly the home turned out even better than we imagined it could. Every single thing in the house is exactly what we wanted and they really made our vision come to life. If you are thinking about building home, do yourself a favor and choose Redwood Builders. We will definitely be using them for a basement finish in the future!

Redwood Homes is one if not the best home builder in the Des Moines Metro. Their attention to detail and personal touch is what makes them stand out against the mass of other builders. The trim work is impeccable and all the custom touches they do. I'm in love with their Bluejay floor plan, especially the specific Blue jay they built in Prairie Trail and Deer Creek. When selecting a builder, my wife and I visited several homes, but as soon as we stepped into one of Redwood Builders’ nearly completed homes, we were struck by the modern farm house style, quality of build materials, and the overall standard of workmanship. Their homes reflect a commitment to excellence, at a level we were excited to see. They were great in paying attention to the details that mattered to us while planning and building our custom home but seamlessly took care of all the other details.

A key strength of Redwood Builders lies in their efficient and organized project management. They have a great network of specialty subcontractors, each with a track record of delivering quality construction. The owner, Adam, along with various Redwood Builders foremen checked in on our build site on a regular basis, ensuring required details and plans were adhered to. They held key walk-throughs of the build to make sure everything was progressing to our expectations. One specific example of normal quality assurance practice they perform was bringing in an independent contractor to verify the insulation envelope was properly placed and completed.

Redwood Builders is also meticulous about job site cleanliness and the final presentation of the home. Small but impactful practices — such as covering ventilation ductwork openings to prevent dust and debris from entering during construction — showed their commitment to delivering a pristine finished product.

Another aspect we appreciated was their assurance and ability to deliver on an agreed to build schedule and price. They construct around a dozen homes a year, which allowed them to stay closely involved in our project. This approach meant no delays, no surprises, and a smooth progression through every stage. Trust and communication was very important to us given that we lived far from the site and could only visit a few times throughout the entire build process. Redwood Builders along with their partnership with Ankeny Real Estate Group provided great communication and developed our trust early on for our custom built home. This continued throughout the entire process to include follow ups post completion of our home to ensure all contractual expectations have been met.

Redwood Builders is by far the best home builder in central Iowa. Not only for the quality of homes but also for the personal touch they add to the building process. Having Adam involved from beginning to end was so amazing and made us feel so comfortable with the decisions we made. We had some specific needs we wanted and he worked very hard to find us a new custom plan that suited our wants and our lot. Along with this, he and his team have amazing expertise that helped us make decisions and design our dream home. The quality and craftsmanship within our home are unprecedented.
