Constraction reviews in Des Moines, Iowa

From start to finish the AFG team showed constant professionalism and quality of work. I would highly recommend AFG for your concrete needs.

“I had an amazing experience with this company! They made sure all my needs were met, I love my deck is perfect. I highly recommend AFG Concrete very professional, fast and great price.

The quality of work was only surpassed by the quality of Alfonso’s honesty and character

We were very satisfied with our extended patio concrete and our retaining wall driveway. Each job was completed in just three days, for a total of six days. The crew was very respectful, kind, and courteous.

Alonso and AFG poured a patio, re-did a section of my driveway, and poured a pad for my garbage bins. I initially hired them just for the patio, and Alonso noticed
my driveway and sidewalk were uneven and suggested I get a pad for the garbage bins. All 3 projects were reasonably bid and they did all 3 jobs in 2 days. They fixed a drainage issue that they noticed after a heavy rain and did a nice job regrading the soil and re-seeding. I definitely will use again for any concrete or fence or deck work I need completed. Professional, punctual, thorough.

Got in contact with Alonso through Angie’s list. Him and his team knocked out our patio extension earlier than expected. Great communication, affordable rates, all around great guy. Would definitely recommend and will use for any concrete work moving forward

AFG concrete did an excellent job on our concrete project! The crew was professional, on time, and the work looks fantastic. Great attention to detail and quality — highly recommend!

AFG Concrete - Alonso and his crew did a great job with our front walk. They did everything right. They communicated well all the way through. They understood the problem we had with un-level concrete and solved a particular issue very nicely. They were prompt, professional and a pleasure to work with. I would hire them again.Thank you.

Alonso and his crew did an excellent job. I had them remove flagstones from my walkway and replace with a beautiful curved sidewalk. I'm so happy I chose AFG CONCRETE. Very competitive pricing also. You won't be sorry if you hire this company.

Alonso and his crew did a wonderful job replacing our front stoop and sidewalk. They were efficient and professional and it all looks great! Alonso followed through with everything he promised and he is one of the nicest guys you’ll work with. We will have AFG help us with future projects.

My full project is far from being completed by all means, but I am starting out piece by piece.
The starting piece is what this review is all about, other than the crew that performed the work.

From fast message response to phone call discussion of project needing done to scheduling work to done. Fast, responsive, reliable, character, charisma, professional, respectful. I have many more projects to do around my home and I know my first message or call will be here! Out of the 3 other Angie's List "Pros" and a couple tracked down on Facebook, these guys were quick to respond, give an estimate and then go above and beyond what was agreed. I gave them a cash tip and a hair over the agreed upon price because they deserve it. The others only want bare minimum work done with a way above market price.

Alonso and his team are amazing. They were very well priced and very knowledgeable, even giving me alternative ideas to my project that made it even better than originally planned. Very punctual and courteous. Will definitely use them on future projects

I’ve used AFG Concrete for multiple projects at my home, both in 2024 and in 2025. They always do a great job. The work is high quality, their prices are fair, and they really make an effort to accommodate my needs. I am happy to recommend them and I will definitely use them again in the future.

This gamble paid off so well. Their job title is concrete so I didn't know if they could make a good deck. AFG Concrete made us an awesome back door deck and a bird home free. I totally recommend this crew for your concrete and wood deck needs. And the cost was very conservative.

AFG Concrete completely transformed our backyard, and the results exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, they went above and beyond on every detail. The project included a wide cement walkway, a retaining wall, a beautiful patio, and stairs—all designed and built with creativity and care. Alonso listened to our ideas, offered clever design suggestions we hadn’t considered, and communicated clearly throughout the process. Every member of the crew was respectful of our home and property, keeping the work area tidy and minimizing disruption. What impressed us most was their attention to detail and pride in their craft. The finished space not only looks stunning but also feels thoughtfully designed for how we actually live and use the backyard. We can’t say enough good things about AFG Concrete. If you’re looking for a team that’s creative, professional, and genuinely cares about their work and clients, this is the one to trust.

We had Big Roofing come out………specifically Brandon and look at our roof after a hail storm. Brandon came exactly when he said he would, took many pictures and explained a lot to us. We were not able to use this company because our insurance only allowed two other companies. I would use them if I were paying myself! Very professional and responsive. Our neighbors used them and were very pleased.

JD arrived at our residence and worked with my wife and I to figure out what kind of new entry door to install. Very knowledgeable about the product he sells. Looking forward to getting our order placed.

Had great response time from Big Roofing in helping fix my roof after a storm. The tech they sent out, Brandon, was very knowledgeable and able to help answer questions regarding insurance, materials, and project timelines. Highly recommend them as a first call for repairs to your home.

BIG roofing did an incredible job! I will definitely be referring them to all my friends and family. Matt was extremely friendly and made the whole process very easy. I thought this was going to be a very long and stressful experience, especially when dealing with my insurance but Matt and his team handled it all. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work!

I had a great experience with Big Roofing and the tech they sent, Brandon Johnson. They were very timely in addressing the roof damage we experienced from the recent storm. I couldn’t recommend Big Roofing and Brandon enough. 10/10.

BIG Roofing was extremely prompt and did an excellent job cleaning our gutters for a reasonable price. Highly recommended!
