Zach listened to what I wanted and did a beautiful plan. He was patient with my questions about the characteristics of various plants, and totally open to making tweaks. The install team was amazing. They worked quickly, respected my yard, and were some of the most skilled and professional landscapers I’ve seen. I was blown away by how quickly it was done, the quality of plants and materials and workmanship. They are my go-to landscapers now...wouldn’t use anyone else. Zach and the team were recommended to me by a friend - they did a stunning job with her hardscape as well.

We had an amazing experience beginning with Zach, our designer. He truly listened to what we were looking for in our landscape, and put together a breathtaking design. Zach played and active role throughout the process, but handed the reins to Rick and Morgan, the crew leads for our project. Their attention to detail was spectacular, and we welcomed their suggestions for slight nuances to the design as features went in. The quality of the plants and trees was fantastic, and they even got some special order dwarf conifers that we had asked for. I would strongly recommend using Country Landscapes for your next project! We’re looking forward to phase 2 of our project next year.

Two years ago we had an amazing experience with Country Landscapes and so when we decided to do a pool project in our backyard this Fall, we had no doubt reaching out to them again to help us with the design around it. Once again Zack, our designer, did a great job with the design and coordinating the execution. His input and also the time he took to answer our questions made us very happy and comfortable throughout the whole process. Together with an amazing crew, led by Curtis, but also other hard working people like Josh and Kaleb, who listened to our feedback etc, we couldn’t be happier with the end result. We highly recommend Country Landscapes for any of your landscape projects!

Highly recommend! We used Country Landscapes to replace our retaining wall along our driveway. From first contact to project completion, they were great to work with. Reliable, on time, quick responses, and best of all - fantastic results. We really enjoyed working with Zach. He even gave us some helpful, money-saving tips on other DIY projects. The crew worked so efficiently that the project was done and job site cleaned up in less than a week. But the fast pace didn’t take away from the high quality work - it appeared that the whole crew takes pride in their work. We will definitely use them again!

Country Landscapes just completed a project at our home. As usual they did a great job. We have used them to landscape our home and our office for the past 25 years and we have never been disappointed. They do a great job and stand behind their work. The staff is always courteous and attentive and their plans are always well thought out. They send out a great crew who gets the job done in a timely fashion. We contracted Country Landscapes to do a complete new design of our landscape and patio of our house in Johnston. Chris submitted an outstanding design incorporating a new block wall surrounding our enlarged patio. His design offered several new trees and shrubs that offered both privacy and beauty. The plantings have now been in the ground two years and are maturing beautifully. We had an open house picnic for my Dad’s 100th birthday and everyone remarked on our beautiful new landscaping.

I highly recommend Country Landscapes of Des Moines for both landscape design and for completing the landscape work. We had an excellent experience working with them.

Landscape design: We worked with Kate on the landscape design for our newly constructed home. She met with us at our home in the fall to find out about our overall vision and desires for the yard, what type of plants we liked or disliked, color scheme, and budget. She drew up the design and quote and then sent it to us for our feedback. We had a few follow up questions about some plants. Her answers informed our decision and we made a few changes. Kate made the necessary changes to the design and quote and then sent it to us for our approval. We were all set for May to arrive so that planting could begin.

Landscape installation: Lucas and John did a wonderful job executing the plan Kate designed. The lines and curves of the paver edging are well done. Lucas is a true craftsman when it comes to cutting and beveling the pavers to fit together perfectly. We were impressed by the great care they took to protect our lawn from the machinery that they brought in for the work. A neighbor even commented on how nice the lawn looked after they were done. Given that my husband and I have enjoyed doing the majority of our own landscape installs at our previous homes, it was hard to hand it over to someone else to do. Lucas and John were very understanding of our need to be involved.. They were very open to us placing and positioning plants (Kate came out and helped us with this too!) and answering any questions that we had.

To have a good experience too, 1) start your design process early, 2) give yourself time to really absorb the plan so that you can make any changes you need, and 3) communicate with the designer and landscape crew throughout the process.

Ben and the guys have been so good to us! They listen to our ideas and plans, tweak where necessary for the success of the project, arrive on time, do the work as agreed upon, and clean up in a way such that we scarcely know they were here! We have a steady dialogue with Ben about garden and tree care, and trust him and his team implicitly with our landscaping, both at our home in West Des Moines, as well as at our property in Boone. We are very happy customers!

Called out for a yard cleanup and river rock installation quote. Said would have back to me in a day or two. That was over a week ago and haven’t heard from them since. Sent several texts and calls and left VM. Guess they don’t like to make money.
