I went in looking for a very specific blue sink, and he had it! I’m thrilled

I brought in a handle from a shower faucet to see if he could help me identify the faucet brand so that I could repair it. He saw the handle and identified it before I even got to the counter. I had been to 2 other supply houses in Tacoma where the house is.

David is incredibly responsive to our plumbing needs, and always stands behind his products and services. We are extremely pleased with anything that he has done for us.

Very knowledgeable and has valves and faucets nobody else carries.. Someone came in with an electrical question and Dave was nice enough to point the gentleman in the right direction.. If you can't find something I'm sure Dave can..

Wow! Amazing! Highly recommend for any plumbing part needed. Prices are reasonable considering what's needed to fix an older shower with starting from scratch. Gentleman who helped me was very knowledgeable. I will be back when I need more.

Be aware that there is a No Refund policy even if parts that you order arrive broken. I ended up with a faucet in the wrong color because the one I ordered arrived damaged and I needed a kitchen faucet & couldn't wait to have another one shipped to us. I thought we could get a refund and just buy a replacement at Lowes, but getting a refund was not going to happen. We paid $354 for this Kohler faucet thinking that by supporting a local business we would also get stellar customer service. Instead, we paid for a faucet that we didn't want and doesn't match our water faucet, and a not so nice response when we asked for a refund. Thankfully AMPM plumbing was kind enough to come back to my house to put the faucet in the same day. It looks horrible but at least I have a faucet that works and I found the best plumbers in the city.

We needed a new flapper for our one piece toilet. American Plumbing not only had the part but also explained how to remove the old one. The store is located in or near the East Village and has a certain charm that you can't find in the big box stores.

The new flush valve did the trick with the "O" ring seal.

Needed a part for a kitchen sink faucet. Was getting close to closing time, and would have not been able to make it to the store. And.. its Friday. Dave made some arrangements so I could still get the part and have sink back in operation. Above and beyond what most would have done. Thanks Dave for making my day.

The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable. He walked me through the process of installing the faucet casket and because of his help, it only took me a few minutes when I got home.

I am a first time customer and was referred by 2 employees at the same big box store (orange aprons). I am not disappointed. I bought an overflow drain kit that the big box stores couldn't even order. The product quality and customer service is outstanding. This business will be my only stop for plumbing products in the future!

This is in response to last critical review. There is a refund policy.....it's no refunds after seven days of receipt. There is a sign in the store, and it states that fact on the bottom of every blue receipt. I was there when this exchange between customer and owner took place. They had a beautiful brushed bronze, almost copper faucet. Customer stated it was damaged during shipping and wanted refund. Owner pointed out seven day policy, then said would be happy to repair but because of the unique finish it would take a few days. Customer says they are in a hurry and cannot wait and wants refund. Owner says he cannot because it's been more than a couple of weeks, but tells customer would be happy to exchange faucet of exact match but with a brushed satin finish until repairs are finished with the original faucet when they would exchange again. Customer states again they want refund. Owner gets very specific about seven day policy and again offers exchange and states he would even install the original faucet once it is repaired. Customer refuses that offer and takes exchange faucet. Came to give five stars from my experience and saw this and knew exactly who it was. After witnessing that exchange and then seeing their review about getting something at Lowe's, seems that maybe someone whispered in customers ear that they might have spent too much and should demand a refund. Because Lowe's sells cheap stuff and from where I sat it certainly didn't seem like they wanted to work in good faith with the owner. So I would kindly ask the individual who did this to please amend or remove their review. What you stated isn't exactly what happened and the owner didn't deserve this. My dealings with the owner is that his prices are competitive with anyone in town. And if something is more expensive, his knowledge and experience more than make up for that. Not many places anymore you can say that. So please, do the right thing.

Highly recommend! Dave is a great guy that really cares about his customers. I have purchased some hard to find shower cartridges from him, he always has the parts I need. During an install one of the gaskets fell off and went down the drain, when I went in to ask him if he had the gasket he informed me that they didn't sell them separate. He solved the problem by giving me another cartridge at NO CHARGE! What a great experience.

This place is an absolute treasure! I grew up in little rented, generic apartments and duplexes where my family wasn't allowed to change anything, so after finally buying my own home two years ago I've developed a perhaps unhealthy obsession with unique decor and incorporating lots of bold color in my home. So when my husband and I were DIY remodeling our bathroom, I got my heart set on having a retro, colored toilet. American Plumbing didn't bat an eye when I both called and later FB messaged to inquire and patiently and cheerfully answered all my questions. When we arrived from Iowa City to buy one, the owner was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time showing us around what they had but then helpfully left us alone to hem and haw over the great selection! Finally, the owner gave us a great price on the toilet and supplies and even cut off some vintage bolts so it would be easier to replace them in the install once home. I wouldn't even know where else to look where you could find an actual selection of colored toilets to see in person and choose from - the fact that they were so pleasant to work with was icing on the cake. So fun to look at their one-of-a-kind treasures, they had exactly what I wanted to buy, and the owner is just the sweetest person. 5 stars!

Picked this plumbing supply store primarily due to the reviews. Dave not even knows his trade, he knows it well. He knew the faucet that I and brought in and retrieved the valve replacements in super power time frame. Didn't piddle around on a computer for twenty min and tell me I'd have to wait two weeks! Old school smart. Ask about his father's WWII EXPERIENCES.

I want to thank David at American Plumbing for saving me a $150.00 plumbing bill for less than $1.00 to purchase a part I was able to install myself. It's been 9 years since my last visit when David's Dad Harlen helped me find the right adapters for a water filter. Great people with the kind of service you don't find so easy especially in the big box home improvement stores. Great advice and caring goes a long way in customer service. I highly recommend American Plumbing.
