I put flags down for the placement of 7 trees, the trees were not planted where I had places the flags and they were spaced unevenly, off by as much as 8+ inches

Called to get an appointment, was put on the schedule for the following week. Called the day of the appointment to confirm, was told I didnt have an appointment and one was made for me.

A week later, Kevin came out and looked at my yard. He seemed to have a decent idea of what I was trying to accomplish. Said that grading my yard would run about $1500ish and he would send me a quote before the end of the week. Sent an EMail on Friday the 8th after not seeing a quote, heard back that he was a little behind and he would send the quote over the weekend or Monday at the latest.

No quote received, contacted Kevin via EMail on the 14th to let him know my project was on hold waiting for the quote and was told that he got it in the MAIL on the 13th. He then also let me know that he was going to be on vacation for the next two weeks so even if I decided to schedule work to be done, it wouldnt even start until the middle of May. And regardless of all of that I was still trying to figure out how to make it work until I finally got the quote in my mailbox. For the amount of money they quoted me, I could almost buy my own Bobcat and do the work myself.

I am a neighbor of a customer of yours in Urbandale. Please train your staff on when cutting lime stone and the wind is blowing to try and keep the lime stone dust from going onto vehicles and personal property. You may think its no big deal, but it is. I will never use you or recommend your services. Very unprofessional!!!

Iowa Outdoor Products staff were incredibly helpful when I was looking for a tree for a couple to plant for their wedding! The grounds were BEAUTIFUL, and they have a cat roaming the grounds as well!! 5 stars!

We did a patio/ outdoor kitchen project with IA Outdoor Products and have been not only thrilled with the outcome, but also with the process and follow up. They had wonderful design ideas and the crew was courteous and professional. We love our patio and I would recommend them highly.

My wife went in on a Sunday a couple of weeks ago just to browse because we were just checking to see what inventory was left this late in the year. I did not go on this initial visit. However, my wife said that Natalie, Joe and staff were very kind and very accommodating. We also checked 3 other local nurseries in the area later that week. Each time we checked any of the nurseries, we walked in with a materials list and detailed photo of the plan as well. I thought this would make employees at all places want to do business with us because they could tell we were prepared and ready to purchase. I found out that this was only the case with Iowa Outdoor products. I wish I hadn't bothered even looking at the other places and just gone right back to Iowa Outdoor with my wife. It would have saved me a lot of time. A couple of things that annoyed me most about the other places were, #1. The lack of knowledge about plants and flowers! I am an amateur at best but I did my homework and understood the zones and growth patterns of the items I was looking for. Or at least had a general idea about them. #2. We felt as though we were inconveniencing employees in the other places by asking them if they had these plants/flowers in stock and if not could they get them this year or even next spring. Natalie with Iowa Outdoor offered us different possibilities to get in the items that they did not have in stock. She even gave us great ideas for the area in which we were planting. Imagine that.....taking the time to help the customer. What a novel idea! I know ours is only one experience and maybe others did not have a great experience. However, I would venture to say that Iowa Outdoor made a mistake with the others or maybe the other customers were impatient or not prepared for their project. Who knows. What I do know, is that we love supporting local and we will definitely go back to Iowa Outdoor for all of our future needs in gardening. Thank you to Natalie, Joe and staff. To the owners, I hope you realize the positive effects that Natalie and Joe are having on your business. Good people!
