I went to this place in early spring to make an appointment for someone to come take a look at my property. I needed an estimate to have some work performed. An appointment was scheduled and the day of the appointment, a guy called to say he was headed over. I wasn't home but told him what I was thinking. I needed an estimate.

Nobody called back. No estimate was ever received.

I went back to the store and spoke with the lady. Told her nobody called. I had no idea what the estimate was or what recommendations were being made for my landscaping project. She took my info and said someone would contact me.

Nobody has ever called me back. No estimate. No mail. Nothing.

I later purchased a tree from them. They came and planted it. I thought it was a good deal and they did a nice job with that.

The people were nice but the tree I ordered became unavailable so they refunded my money without argument. Just wish the carried Griffith Buck roses. I had to order from a couple of nurseries out west to get roses that were founded in Iowa, by an Iowa State Professor, specifically to survive the Iowa winter.

I purchased a hydrangea during their fall clearance last year. It was a fantastic price and seemed like a hydrangea of the right height. So I brought it home and planted it. But when it bloomed the next summer, I realized it was the wrong shrub. Apparently it was mislabeled as to what kind of hydrangea it was. I called the store and spoke with a manager who said it was too long after my purchase to try and help. So now I have to rip it out and buy a new one and actually pay more than if bought the first one at the regular cost at a different store.

Bought mixed soil and compost. I was informed that the soil had a few clay clumps. Which is usual but it was nice that the salesperson let me know. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent.

My Husband and I purchased a fountain rock. If I was asked to give a letter grade it would be A ++++++++++++ !!! From start to finish it was perfection . The visit to the nursery was very pleasant with all of our questions answered. The day of our install the truck pulled up at the exact time as promised. The two men that came were professional, cheerful, and friendly, as they worked in 100 degree heat. When the job was complete, you would never know anything had been disturbed, this includes burying the electrical. Before the truck pulled away the crew even cleaned up around the truck and the street! Now we are enjoying the beauty and the bubbling sound of our granite stone, as we watch the little finches drink and bathe on our lovely addition to our patio garden!

Bad product and service. I ordered 4 tons of garden soil which is supposed to be comprised of 50% organic matter and 50% top soil. Unfortunately, their top soil is comprised almost entirely of clods of clay, which is of no use in a garden. I was told I could get my money back but I would have to pay for the labor and equipment to load it back into a truck. So I was left with 4 tons of garbage in my driveway. If your looking for good service and a product you expect, look elsewhere.

I went to Iowa Outdoor Products unsure of exactly what I was looking for. Holly helped me pick out each item and even told me how to get them planted. She was very patient and extremely helpful! I will definitely purchase all future flowers and plants from Iowa Outdoor Products!

Great variety of products and perennials. Staff is really knowledgeable and able to answer questions. Natalie was wonderful to work with!

I purchased plants over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Unfortunately, as I was figuring out a planting theme I overestimated the number of plants that would be suitable for areas of my house. I got too many plants that required partial to full shade. I figured returning the plants within 2.5 days would be sufficient with the plant warranty but I was mistaken. I was told that the 6 plants were not in the same condition I bought them and the best that could be done was 50% of the purchase price. I could understand that but the plants were in good shape and like I mentioned about 2 days from when I purchased them. They had never been removed from the store pots so all of the original soil remained intact and I watered them Saturday, Sunday and it rained today.

While I took the 50% return, I now have no proof of a return to support the 50% value or to reconcile that the 6 plants were returned. Based on what was scribbled on my original receipt only 5 were returned versus 6 but I can’t prove that because I didn’t get a return receipt. And now I have a gift card that I have no idea what the balance is despite paying cash for a portion of my purchase.

My hope was to exchange for some plants that would be suitable for full sun exposure and chances are I would have had to spend more money then the actual return at full value.

Terrible customer service even after messaging the owner directly. Not impressed and will never shop there again!

I purchased all the supplies (stone, plants, pond liner, pump, bio-falls and skimmer) from IOP and built the pond / waterfall with a friend. Very expensive supplies from IOP and most things didn't last long, but they have nice items to choose from.

Great customer service! Order 5 ton of garden mix soil to be delivered and while it was weather delayed from the supplier, the staff was great with communication and apologies every day until it arrived. They offered an alternative but we decided to wait it out. They brought the material within an hour of calling - the soil mix was a BEAUTIFUL blend and perfect for our needs!!! Highly recommend!!!

They have amazing products at Iowa Outdoor Products, top notch and great quality. Best of all is their staff! They are all so nice, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Had a really great experience buying a tree and a truckload of mulch remotely during the COVID-19 quarantine. The arborist took the time to do a video call and talked me through different kinds of trees that fit the profile of what we wanted to plant. Planters were fast and remembered to come back a day later to finish staking the tree. Previously purchased products have been excellent.

The staff was super friendly and helped me pick out the perfect basking stone for my bearded dragon even though it is -0 outside today. I would highly recommend this place for all of your landscape and reptile needs:)
