Landscaping reviews in West Des Moines, Iowa

Great customer service!! After a frustrating visit to the store to learn there was a miscommunication of how "Fun Money" could be leveraged, Mary the store manager went out of her way to call me and make it right. I am so happy with the outcome of my situation and know that Mary is truly dedicated to making her customers happy. Thanks again!

High quality plants, grass seed, lawn ornaments, chemicals etc. Tend to be a bit pricey however you usually get what you pay for. Most of the employees are helpful and pleasant. Did have a bit of static from the manager before. He was probably tired and or stressed out. I will say they don't require Customers to wear face masks which as a Libertarian I appreciate. And NO Liberals I don't want people to die so stop with the face mask shaming! UPDATE! Old Manager is long gone! New Manager is a "people person" and knows how to endure herself to customers! I have been back way more often than before when the Male Manager, while knowledgeable was not personable and treated me arrogantly and with a bit of contempt. So now I will give this Earl May location a full 5 Stars because of a GREAT Manager! I spent a whole lot more money this year directly related to the professional and friendly way I was treated!

Great service! Katy helped me at every turn from finding a carry cart to giving me advice on a plant with special requirements! Absolutely wonderful service! The majority of their plants as well seem to be in above average health, which is wonderful to see.

I was outside looking through plants when an employee informed me the store was closed and he needed to close the gate. No problem. I said, "Oh sorry," and started walking toward my car. I then heard the employee loudly say to another employee, "Every time I turn my back someone wanders in off the street." Excuse you. I didn't "Wander in off the streets." I drove my car in through your currently -open- gates to do business. Dont talk about customers like stray animals. And if it's such a big deal close your gates on time.

I worked with Mary to buy trees to be planted in my home and couldn't have asked for a better experience. She was extremely helpful and took time to look at trees with me in her store and ensured I was able to get the trees I wanted. It was a great experience and I plan on using them in the future for landscaping and gardening projects. I also worked with Ruth, who helped me pick out flowers, shrubs, and fruit plants for my front and south gardens. She was a huge help and spent at least an hour assisting me with explaining the best plants for my home as well as assisting in the design of the garden. This is a wonderful store and landscaping company and I am very grateful to have found it.

I came to this location to buy some seeds that they had in stock. I bought three packages plus several other packets of seeds and a couple of small plants. I was told that I could buy one plant separately from the pottery container it was in. When I left, I thought $50 was a lot for what I purchased, so stopped to review the receipt. I was charged the full price for the plant without the container. I went back and returned the plant, but even though I just paid cash for my order, I was given a gift card. If I had used a credit card, I could have understood, but when my cash was in the drawer, there should have not been any problem in returning cash. I think the atmosphere in the store is nice, but the customer service and business practice leave a lot to be desired. Only as a last resort would I ever shop in this location again.

This is the first review I've ever written, which should tell you how bad our experience was. My daughter and I visited the Clive Earl May store this afternoon looking to purchase four blue spruce trees. We worked with the store manager, Mary, who was unpleasant, grumpy and short with us, and acted like she had better things to do than help us. We asked a few questions about the trees and she responded with snappy and rude answers. I will say that the cashier inside was very friendly and helpful.

The store manager, Ryan went above and beyond with his customer service. Today we came in to discuss some issues we had with two trees previously purchased and planted by Earl May. Ryan listened to us and helped us through the warranty process. Ryan is a great manager and asset to Earl May. We look forward to our next visit.

I do my own chemical for the yard. Price is right. Seems to work as I have the greenest, weed free yard in the hood. Staff is good to work with. Buy the occasional plants, always stop by to get greenery for winter pots.

Sue took pity on me, a hapless male, and took charge. It was just what needed to happen and I got what I needed and a good deal to boot! Give Sue a raise.

Beautiful serene flowers cascade the entrance beckoning you to come in out of the humidity, and browse the lovely plants that seem to want to grace any patio or entryway. The prices are above average and the young assistants were very helpful in trying to assist me with my request to find a certain type of plant that would last through the summer. A zen environment to just go and peruse the different sections that could lower your blood pressure just by taking in the peace and calm of the colorful floral displays.

We went to Earl May Garen Center to find some bark for repotting my orchid. We did manage to get some at a reasonable price. I was pleasantly surprised by all the beautiful plants and flowers that they have available, granted it’s not the most affordable if I compare to back home. I do however love a nursery and look forward to another visit.
