I was an Orkin customer for over 6 years. However i was forced to cancel my account with orkin due to the absolute lack of customer service provided by the Overland Park, Ks. office. (I leave out your technicians from this complaint as they are very polite & thorough.)
Over the past month, i have requested to speak with a manager at the Overland Park, KS office and have only spoken with receptionists. The manager or persons in charge never got in touch. Finally today when i called to follow up about cancelling my contract due to lack of customer service, i was informed by the receptionist that my contract was 'cancelled, refunded and orkin does not mail notices about the same' ! My bank statement does not reflect a refund yet. Its a shame as all i was calling customer service was to enhance my contract ... I will NEVER refer Orkin to anyone again. By the way, the 'Customer care' page on your website won't open.

I had a battery failure and called early to see if I could get a time. They worked quickly to find a technician to come out early as I had to go to my volunteer job. Louis came right away and quickly replaced the alarm. He was neat as he worked, explained what he was doing as he went along and straightened up before he left. I highly recommend Atronic Alarms.

Alvin kicks ass. Look at this kick ass job. I'm super pleased. An awesome, on-time, reliable guy that is skilled, experienced for 16 years and did I mention Kicks Ass????? Yup. Run to him.

Alvin was my savior! I had a horrible experience with my previous contractor and he came to the rescue. I had him redo all the tile work in a bathroom at a very fair price. He is very professional and polite. He came on time as scheduled each day, he cleaned up, and his work is outstanding. He has become my go to tile guy. I have future projects lined up for him. He will not disappoint!

We recently found a mechanical issue with our stair lift. We reached out to Silver Cross to address the issue as we had used Silver Cross for the purchase & installation of the unit and were very satisfied with both. Thus, we had the same expectation with the repair call. We were not disappointed! Silver Cross was quick to address our issue. When parts were required to fully repair the unit, they immediately worked to find a short term solution so that we would not be without an alternative for gaining access to the upper level of the home. The equipment was expedited & they immediately had the unit fully repaired. Super impressed with the customer satisfaction focus not only of the owner & the office personnel, but also of the mechanical technicians. On all elements, their customer satisfaction focus, professionalism, quality of equipment & service was IMPRESSIVE! We are so pleased with Silver Cross & highly recommend them!

I called Orkin this morning an appointment was scheduled for 4pm to 7pm today. I turned away two other companies. At 5ish, a sales rep called and asked if I wanted to schedule services. Her name was "Tamara". I told her that I had an appointment. She said she was calling response to a web inquiry. I said I made an appointment based upon a call that morning from them in response to my web inquiry. She put me on hold for about five minutes and came back and confirmed the appointment. At 7:05, no one had shown up. I called them back and got Tamara again. She told me there was nothing she could do. After talking with her for about ten minutes, she kept saying, "I understand your frustration but there is nothing I can do." I finally asked to talk to a customer service supervisor. She put me on hold for five minutes and I had to listen to their tape of how wonderful they were. Finally, I got "Pam" who said that there was nothing she could do. She said she was sorry. By that time, I realized that I had been hoodwinked and said that her company had wasted three hours of my life and she said, "You're taking this personally". Well, it is personal. She refused to send me any information by e-mail or fax and was very rude and did not care about what they had done. She supposedly "sent a complaint", but I don't want a complaint, I want a technician and three hours of my life not to have been wasted.

Rodrock Development has a unique philosophy of building communities not just houses. I have worked with Realtor Joan Jacquin for over 25 years and have great respect for her integrity and dedication. I can count on her to follow thru on all details with both her builders and her buyers. She is a joy to work with!

Replacement window installation Independence, Missouri.
Project went as well or better than expected. The windows were installed in a triplex. Even though 30 day notice had been given to all occupants, one tenant was difficult to work with. Zen Windows provided via e-mail a 3 page flyer of what to expect so that I could print and deliver to occupants, along with dates of installation.
Tenant is an artist/horder that had possessions stacked to ceiling in front of windows and only narrow paths to walk/access each room of the 1 bedroom apartment. Tenant also has bum leg and various ailments making situation even more difficult.
When John informed us that our special order windows of bronze exterior/almond interior, would be arriving a week early; tenant still needed the additional time to prepare for installation. John's professional installers worked with us through this situation and completed all other windows in the building and returned the following week on Monday, April 20th to complete the job. Tenant had invalid or petty complaints throughout installation, even though the informational flyer that they had received clearly outlined what was occurring. Throughout the 2 to 3 hours it took to install the windows in the one bedroom unit, John's team of installers worked quickly and efficiently to please everyone.
During the install a previous termite infestation that had been successfully treated by a prior owner was discovered. It was in the base wood of a window that is close to the ground in the lower or garden unit of the building. They called me in to look at the situation. It was decided to remove the damaged wood and confirm that there was no activity of pests.
Once that was done, one of the installers left to get new replacement material. Within an hour they told me that $50 was the cost of the repair and that I may possibly have to have an outside repairman for the drywall, because they do not do drywall. As it turned out; they did everything with minimal damage to the drywall and all I had to do was a little touch up paint. No drywall repair was needed.
Installers were on time. Picked up and cleaned all debris. Did not leave cigarette butts.
Additionally, we had one small owners unit that is not a complete apartment, but just a sleeping room with a window unit air conditioner. We bought new pleated adjustable sizers that were to be placed and fitted on either side of the A/C unit and John's team reinstalled the A/C better than it was before. Just an amazing job. We are very pleased and have recommended Zen Windows to anyone we know that asks about the new windows or are contemplating new windows. For the one tenant it was like giving childbirth. For the rest of us it was easy while the installers did all the hard work. Now that is over, EVERYONE loves the new windows with no cloudiness and crystal clear views. -

I am editing this review and changing my rating from 2 to 5. Why? Because of the customer service I received after posting this review. I got a call from Neil whose father started the business 30 years ago. He apologized and asked for details. I told him I appreciated the call and would amend my review. He said that was necessary as that is the point of reviews and they messed up.
In our conversation, I mentioned that ADT was not scheduled for another week when I am back in town. He asked if he could come over and speak with me about my services. He apologized, discussed my service with me and I chose to renew my agreement with Atronic.
They came out today (10/13) to get me hooked back up and I had some requests that they accommodated.
I appreciate a local company that takes pride in their work and is not too proud to prove themselves again and ask for your business.

This review is more about the service than the product. I moved to KC three years ago and the home I bought had Atronic. I contacted them and continued the service. I wanted to do business with them since they are local and not go with someone like ADT.
I switched to Google Fiber 9 months ago and got rid of my land line phone. My security system would not work without the land line. I called and there were some expensive wireless hook up charges and in addition, the monthly fee went up $10 a month. I asked to have the set-up waived since I was a current customer. They would not do it. I decided to cancel service since I never use it.
9 months later I decide I want to re-activate my service. I call them to arrange it and they no longer charge the set-up fee, but the increased monthly fee. Fine. I am told I will get a call with someone to arrange it. Three weeks later I have not heard from anyone. I call back and am told that a form was emailed to me and they were waiting to get it back....from three weeks ago. I never received it. They sent another and it went into my Junk folder, but I was watching for it this time.
In those three weeks, I had a call from ADT and went through a quote process with them. It was a better deal, much better actually, and I said no because I wanted to keep it local. Atronic is now waiting on me to fill out a new form (never mind I was already a customer and they have one on file) and they will get me on a service call list once I return it. ADT offered to have a Service Technician out the next day if I would sign up with them. Hello, ADT! Where have you been all my life?
If you want to give your money to a company that wants it, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are other local options. -
I called Zen Windows and had a Bay Window installed. It is beautiful. Since we had this window, we have had hard rain and nothing went wrong. We added the wrap around to the window and it is perfect! Chad was the installer and you must ask for him and his partner. They are friendly, professional and did not leave a mess. John Sims is the owner

My wife and I recently moved into our dream home, a Bellagio story and a half (4800 sq ft on the main and second level) built by Chris Carley and Steve Trued of Tabernacle Homes. I wanted to thank both Chris, Steve, Laurie and their entire team and all the subs for all their hard work as well as their patience in working with us to create our version of their plan.
The experience -We signed with Chris and we began building in March. Despite known cost increases for steel, concrete and lumber Chris honored the 2011 build cost. Chris went out of his way to help us find a lot in a neighborhood offering estate size home lots. Best of all the lot was below market value and sold by owner instantly saving us 3% realtor commissions on the seller/developers side. By Mid March the foundation went in and we slowly watched the home progress. My wife and I might be considered a builders worse nightmare as we are slight perfectionists and we were on the job site every day without fail, camera in hand. Once the house was framed in, Steve Trued took over the build. As partners, Steve and Chris are well paired. My view is that Chris is the new business development guy and Steve is the Project Manager. Steve kept his subs on point and his presence insured that details were adhered to given the nature of high end home builds. What started out as a standard Bellagio with an oversized 42' deep/1600 sq ft garage took a turn with lots of custom upgrades. We were making changes on the fly and Steve was very good about providing estimates on the costs as well as very receptive to the changes in general. I have seen too many builders use upgrades as their profit center, so considering that "Pella" windows, hand scraped hardwood floors and so many other upgrades were standard to begin with, the changes we made definitely had positive ROI and made our home one of a kind.
Prior to closing, I had two welcome surprises. First, the conservative home appraisal came in $30k over the closing price. I was feeling pretty good that I had some instant equity. Second, I had my home inspector visit prior to close and he did an energy evaluation using a blower fan with elaborate meters as well as temperature sensing cameras to find the source of any drafts. The verdict "if the house was any tighter, you would need fresh air returns" Given the size of the house, this was important to me as my first full month energy bill came in for a very cold December and it was significantly less than my prior 3500sq ft home! Wow, money well spent on the blown in insulation upgrade that Steve recommended (it will have paid for itself in the first 12 months - great ROI)!
Thinking about building with Tabernacle. Great choice if you do not want a cookie cutter house and you want a full custom experience. -
I saw the negative review from another customer earlier and I was shocked that they had a bad experience with this builder. I know dozens of people in my neighborhood that have built or purchased a new home from Tabernacle Homes, LLC (Builder: Chris Carley) and they couldn't be happier. I know you can't make everyone happy and the fact that a builder would give a customer back their non-refundable deposit when they are guaranteed a sale tells me everything I need to know. Chris Carley with Tabernacle Homes, LLC is one of those builders who will bend over backwards to do anything he can to make a client happy. One of the factors in choosing Tabernacle Homes, LLC as our builder was the fact that Chris is a part time minister of a local church and we felt that we could trust him with our money and our new home. Since our initial meetings with Chris Carley several years ago we have built two homes (2007 & 2010) with Tabernacle Homes, LLC and it has been one of the smoothest, easiest processes that you could ever go through. My wife and I like to live in a new home so above every 3 - 5 years we like to sell our house and move into a new one. We will continue to build our new homes with Chris Carley and Tabernacle Homes, LLC because we know what value we're getting and we know what kind of great customer service that they provide. If you are looking to buy a new home or build a new home give Tabernacle Homes, LLC a try. Don't let one negative comment turn you away from the best builders in town.

We had ADT at our old house because we got a free system by signing up with them etc. They were like $34.95/mo or something back then (5 yrs ago) and that was with a 24 mo contract. One time my kid set it off and we didn't get our PIN entered on time, they called 24 hours later to check on us! We moved into a new house that had a MUCH better system, contacts on all the windows, glass breaks, motions detectors everywhere, carbon monoxide--already installed. The panel said Atronic so I called to get a quote: $25 a month and NO contract! ADT wanted a new contract and a bunch of headaches to monitor at our new address. I have also been very happy with the service. I set the alarm off in the middle of the night letting my dog out (so pleasant), they call in like 20 seconds and demand a security password before they let you off the phone. Once, the back door blew open and I came home to a police officer's card on my counter (good thing I did my dishes!). In 5 year's time we feel very happy with Atronic and their monitoring plus it's cheaper with no contracts.

If I could give Jim Sullivan and his staff 20 stars, that's exactly what I would do!
After a 6 month delay from a previous, less experienced, architect who claimed to do "commercial kitchens." Jim Sullivan was recommended to us to consult with. Previous architects kept getting plans rejected during the review stage due to minimal knowledge of commercial kitchens. In consulting with Jim, he pointed out all the things that we needed to address.
Rather than going back to the old architect, we asked Jim to go forward with our project and he had to redraw and resubmit our plans to the city. Within 2.5 weeks of giving Jim the "go ahead", our plans were redrawn, submitted and approved for construction.
What made Jim even more impressive was that our plans were not only drawn for the sake of city codes, but he also took work flow and merchandising into consideration.
We are now up and running our deli/bakery and it is working out as planned. I would definitely call Jim Sullivan again for any future needs.
