Chimney reviews in Olathe, Kansas

Just called to get a quote to fix or replace my gas fireplace and clean my chimney. The woman on the phone said they don't do that. When asked what they did do they said service gas fireplaces and install new ones. So I repeated what I wanted and they said they couldn't help. What do they offer then?

If you go into the process with the wrong attitude, as in wanting something for nothing or unreasonable expectations then (no matter what you are buying) it will not go well for you.

Fireplaces are a thing of their own, and Midwest does best by knowing exactly what the industry has to offer, and offering the best and at different price points to meet different budgets. They are knowledgeable and friendly, dealing with vendors inside the United States and Canada.

Speaking on the PROCESS.. it, installing and finishing, or retrofitting a new unit into an old space is not a QUICK process, lots of moving parts, and to ensure the best outcome it is best to manage your expectations and flexible deadlines so in the end you get the best for your money.

This company has refused to replace a fireplace insert that they installed even though we were going to pay for everything. They had repaired the insert in late spring so we had not turned it back on till Fall. Come Fall when we turned it on the glass exploded into a million small pieces due to a build up of heat. Whether it was their error or factory fault they have refused to do anything to rectify the problem. Again we offered to pay for everything.

Our gas fireplace pilot was not igniting the main gas supply. Their tech showed up on time and was very neat in his work, putting down a large drop cloth and keeping everything neat and orderly as he worked. He fixed the pilot light issue and spray painted some spots within the firebox that were no longer dark black. The fire now is a little taller and looks much better than when it was new when we moved in. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the price for the service was over $300 for an hour's work which I thought was a bit high (but maybe not in these days of higher labor costs so I'll give them that). The quality of the work was terrific.

Overall pleased, however $319 for 90 minutes of labor is NUTS! No parts needed. Just cleaned it good and reassembled!

I was not pleased with the help provided by this business. I was told I lived outside of their range of providing service, but they were unable to give me any information regarding wood stoves, or help with finding a business that could help me. The individual I spoke with was very unhelpful, and acted as though I was an intrusion into his day. I would not recommend this establishment.

I am absolutely confused on what this place actually does. Went into the showroom to get a new fireplace insert, or whatever it is called, to suprise my wife for Christmas because ours hasnt worked since we moved in. I showed the gentleman a picture of what I had and he stated that they wont take out the old one or do anything to fit the new one. He wanted me to remove everything. That's like hiring someone to install a new water heater but they wont remove the old one. He directed me to another fireplace company. It's to bad because I was recommended to this place by a friend. I figured one of these things would run a few thousand dollars to get bought and installed. Not the service I would expect spending that kind of money.

I rarely post reviews, but I wanted to say what a great job this company did in selling and installing our new fireplace. They were always honest and friendly with us. The installers did a beautiful job installing it in our old house and were extremely professional the entire time. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Love that they fixed my fireplace with no hassle! Very great service and friendly staffs.
