I live on State Line, adjacent to KU property that is an unused parking lot between 36th and 37th street. "Next To Nature's" crew was assembled en masse this morning so I went to inform them that the very last hold out of a formerly flourishing ground hog community was in one hole on the property.

The young man walked with me, saw the hole and told me he had wondered if that was a rabbit hole. I said, "Nope. Groundhogs. Would you please tell your boss to leave the leaf cover intact in that one spot and minimize disturbance?"

"Yes"

Instead, they knocked down all flora and fauna over the hole. I approached the young man again. "Sorry", said he, "We called the boss and he said to clear it".

Not sure if the boss, whose name was given, also instructed the supervisor of the crew to spray weeding chemicals directly down the hole for 10 seconds or not. That may have been the super's prerogative, but that is what they did next.

Very disappointing and unbefitting your name.

Spent over $80,000 on landscaping, irrigation, retaining walls. This company has terrible communication, doesn’t follow up, and doesn’t take care of the customer. Stay away.

I have had the chance to see how NTN works as a contractor in a different field but in close working proximity. Being a service provider myself, I’m not often impressed given good service should be expected. The guys at Next To Nature go above and beyond when nobody is looking. That says a lot me!

We bought a house a year ago that Next to Nature did the landscaping for. 6 months after we lived in this house (which was built in 2012), we started having drainage problems. Part of the issue was that this company installed drainage systems for our neighbors that dump directly into our backyard (violation of city code). They also put drainage systems that drain onto the curb (another violation of city code).

When we brought these issues to their attention, they refused to address them saying that they installed the drainage systems for the previous owners.

I would not have any work done by them or recommend them to anyone.

We needed a very long French drain replaced and improved. The area to be worked included tying in 3 downspouts and a sump pump along with the French drain. The job was perfectly executed and looked better afterwards than before. I was impressed with the appearance and quality of the work and they were very fast. Cost was very competitive as we got a couple bids. There was one small hiccup which we called about and was corrected entirely the following morning. Will go back in the future without question.

Was the subcontractor company for landscaping and irrigation system for the house we were having built. From day 1 had issues with the irrigation system leaking. They were very difficult to get ahold of and often required the general contractor to call them before they would respond. Even then they said they were not going to send soneone out because it was probably just the low sprinkler head that drains for awhile after watering. Same "your fault not ours" described by other reviewers. This is not our first sprinkler system and we knew it was not the case. A couple weeks, and $700 water bill later they finally agreed to come out and fix the leaking sprinkler head. Fast forward 1 year later and we contacted them due to several dead plants that were supposed to be covered by a 1 year warranty. They refuse to replace them stating that "it was a hard winter." When they are charging 2-3 times the cost of what a plant should cost you would expect them to stand by their warranty. See the previous reviews from others screwed over by this company and go elsewhere.

Trish and Chris are a husband and wife team that helped us landscape around a new pool. Most of our communication was long distance because we live in WI and purchased a snow bird home in FL. They were both great to work with, very reliable, kept me updated on everything they were doing and sent me pictures so I could see the progress. I found their prices reasonable and their attention to detail, excellent. They are good people, honest and great at what they do. I highly recommend them.

I have worked with Shane over the years designing landscape around my house...
recently the work was done by Luis's crew and he could not have executed the plan more perfectly! Was just what I wanted, and Luis and crew were there to make sure we were on the same page, wanting me to check the work before they left, he was so kind, and wanting to do the job well, which he certainly accomplished!

The irrigation technician opened our system for the year. He checked each sprinkler within each station and adjusted the coverage if necessary. One spray nozzle was replaced.
The service tech was very proficient and informative.
Next to Nature provides an excellent service which we recommend.

These folks are truly wonderful and always quick to respond to any of my needs. They're friendly and affordable, making every experience a pleasure!

Next to Nature was contracted to do snow removal for our neighborhood.

We got around 10" of snow that stopped falling on 1/5. It's currently 1/7, no snow removal has been done and people in our neighborhood can't leave their houses.

This company doesn't live up to their standards that they contractually agreed to.

UPDATE: Next to Nature stopped communicating with our management company after 2 days of not showing up. A different vendor had to be hired to handle the snow removal. If they weren't prepared to handle it, they shouldn't have signed a contract to do it.

DO NOT hire them to do anything for your property, you will not get the service you expect.

Built an amazing backyard for us with a pool. Great swim up bar concept! Adam Lang did a great job on the design!

The entire process from design to actual execution was flawless!! During the actual planting, Hugo and his crew were organized, detail oriented and focused on carrying out the original design… Very impressive!!

N2N was the suggested landscape company by my home builder. I needed retaining walls, irrigation, hardscape and landscape. So overall looking at $70-$100K. Met with Adam in May. It was obvious he was not listening to anything I had to say. Said he would get back to me in a couple of weeks. 5 months later finally gave something to the builders. Retaining wall bid only came after I had gotten one from another company. Landscape plan ignored everything I said in our only meeting. The kicker was that at no time did he even bother to cc me on any of the correspondence - just sent it to the builder. THEY are not making the decisions! As you can guess from this review I went with another company - night and day difference in communication. I guess it must be nice to be able to ignore a new job of this size.

I have been nothing but impressed with Next to Nature. From the owners to designers to the installers, they expect nothing but the best. The communication is excellent and everything is high end. Thank you Next to Nature. I would give more stars if I could.

Always professional, quick to respond and the service is great. I will always use Marshall Lawn for my fall aeration and seeding. My lawn looks great because of them.

The scheduling was terrific and paying was great. But the service was soso. I'm sorry. I paid the invoice. Just wish you would have run the aerator around the whole house

Great customer service. Aeration was done very well. My grass is looking really good. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with plus I’m all for family businesses.
