I purchased a hot water heater at Lowes. KW Mechanical showed up to install it and told me the new one would not fit. They also told me they could not even get the old one out because the gas line was in the way, although it was installed with the gas line there when it was replaced last time. He said the gas line would need to be moved. He advised I would need to call a plumbing contractor because KW does not do that kind of work. Their website claims they are a full service plumbing company, but apparently they are not.

Had to replace the water heater in the home. Bought a new water heater from Home Depot and used the Home Depot installation service. K W Mechanical was the company contracted to install. The technician kept me informed when he would show up to do the work. Took out the old gas power vent heater and installed the new in less than two hours. Did have an issue with the power vent line hitting the water pipe during operation which would produce a noise that was transmitted thru the pipes. No worries, K W sent a technician out to fix the problem with no charge.

After a week and a half I finally got a new water heater, and running water in my home, no thanks to K W Mechanical. 3 days in a row I was told they were booked solid and would have to wait until "tomorrow". I lost 2 days of work sitting at home waiting for them to show up. When I was paying out of my own pocket, they were able to make an emergency / after hours service call. They send a kid who tells me he's never installed a water heater before, and they send him out with the wrong water heater. It won't fit. He tells me they have 6 or 7 guys that do nothing but water heaters. I'd have to call in the morning to reschedule....and for the third time I was told they were booked solid and would have to wait until tomorrow. When it became a warranty issue through my home owners warranty an after hours emergency service call was no longer offered. I guess my frustration got the better of me to the point they stopped taking my phone calls and cancelled my order. I felt no consideration on their part for the situation I was in. I had had water streaming out of my water heater going on 4 days and the only way to stop it was to shut water off to the entire house. My wife and I had to stay in a hotel until we could locate another plumber and the right water heater, and all this right before Thanksgiving. Needless to say, Thanksgiving dinner was scaled back a bit this year. Hard to prepare a meal, any meal, when you have no water to cook with or wash dishes afterwards.

I normally dont write reviews but do not call these people. I received a quote from home depot for a water heater install. When these guys showed up they tried the classic bait and switch on my wife stating we needed a bunch of other things and the estimate went up by $600.00. One of the items was for an expansion tank $181 that i already had included in the estimate that was emailed to me. The installer didn't even call Home Depot to verify it was included. He had the nerve to say 4 appts cancelled on him the same day....Pound salt scam artist.

Find another option. I'll give them credit they were able to come to the house next day when other companies were telling me it'd be a few days but they overcharged and the tech made the tenant feel very uncomfortable. I had Halpin out a week later for the exact same issue. The cost was 1/3 what this company charged and Halpin came same day. I wish I would have called Halpin from the start.

I have used KW for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. They have been consistently on time and professional, and have worked with me when I had unusual requests. Based on my experience with them over the last two years, between three different properties, I would recommend them to anyone.
Price wise, they have been affordable but not "cheap". I've never felt ripped off or overcharged, and their pricing is transparent. -
I own a coffee shop in Latonia! Our air went out during hottest week. When I called, Jim & Michelle scheduled us in for service-they were up front with timeline and understanding of repair. Attendant showed up on time, professional and knowledgeable about our system. Bill we think you are awesome! Great suggestions on maintenance and air filters.

Beginning on January 24th I finally received an email back after nearly 3 weeks of Home Depot stating they put in a request with one of their contractors (this company). Finally by Friday January 26th at 2:17pm Jim Eggemeier from the company emailed me asking when I would be available. I replied January 27th at 12:47pm with, "All day on Monday or Tuesday" (30th or 31st of January). On Monday January 30th I emailed him at 8:27am asking, "Do you know when you are coming so I can make sure my husband is home and so we can move the car out of the garage to make it easier for you to get to the water heater?". Today is February 9, 2017 at 12:00pm and I still have not received a reply. I would never recommend them because after waiting and waiting (with a constant water leak in my current water heater, meaning I have a steady stream of water coming from the water heater to my drain in my garage) I have been forced to seek another professional to install my water heater.
The picture below is the email correspondence. I removed my personal information but kept all correspondence with date/time stamp to corroborate what I stated above. -
We have use KM for years. They have always done quality work at reasonable prices. Just had 4 plumbing issues taken care of today. The plumber arrived on time, gave us an estimate, and completed the work in a timely manner.

Your guy that just passed Steiner ave on river road ran the red light and didn't pay attention. On sunday, jan 7 appx 1045 Am. It seemed he was on his phone. I tried to tell him he ran the light when we were stopped but he ignored me. Older guy with grey beard.
Better be careful -
$15 for "fuel charge"
$55 for "Truck fee"
$9.70 for "parking"
$79.70 incurred without the tech setting foot in my store and I am not responsible for paying all of your itemized expenses -
Called Kent to service our ice machine.
They sent a guy that could hardly speak words very unintelligible or intelligent for that matter.
He worked on the system for literally 20 minutes. Said he replaced a part and charged me 400$. And the part was 90$. He was rude and kept saying it was our fault the BRAND NEW machine didn’t work properly. Talked down to my employees ... which they couldn’t understand a word he was saying. Do not hire these people to do anything got you. -
This people are unprofessional, rude and arrogant. I call for service and technician came and did some work without putting any parts and said it fixed and charge $350.00. Next day i saw problem is still there called again and technician came and work something on it and said it fixed. And charge again $150.00. Next day is same it still not cooling.
This people doesn’t have knowledge and they keep coming back every times without fixing your equipment they charge every time. Sometimes your labor cost is more than your equipment.
Be aware for this people. Call the authorised dealership to get right technicians the KENT. -
Hate leaving a bad review on another business but I feel like I was taken advantage of in this situation. Trust is created over years and lost in an instant.
Called for service on a mini-split inside unit which was leaking water. Tech was advised to check filters and drain line could be blocked. DID NOT CLEAR DRAIN LINE. Instead provided an vague "Low Pressures" on system leading to an $800 bill. Removed Freon, added back new Freon? seriously. Recommended a pressure test and potentially a new system?
Upon my return from being out of town, I cleared the drain line and problems have been solved. Kent's inspection was a month ago and have had no problems since.
I called to explain my experience and ask for my details to which the owner explained that those important details were not available and could not be provided. Refused to admit any chance that his tech made a mistake either.
Time will tell if the issue was a simple drain line or if the freon was truly necessary. Losing a customer to make a quick $800 seems like a questionable business practice. -
These guys have always done a bang up job for us. I can't say enough good things about them.
