Leslie is AMAZING! She is so sweet and helpful. It doesn't matter the question, she will find the answer...and trust me, we have asked a million and one questions. Buying a new home, let alone building one for the first time is terrifying. But I feel like we have definitely found what we have been looking for with this builder and neighborhood. We still have a long road ahead until our home is complete, but this experience has been wonderful. And Leslie has gone above and beyond to make our experience what it needs to be. It is all moving so fast, but I know that this is the right fit for us. More to come...

We recently built with JMH, we had looked at some of the showcase homes and space wise, they did not fit the needs of our family. Kristin Murrow, the new homes consultant met with us and immediately put us in the right direction with an up and coming showcase home that checked every box. My husband and Bud really bonded & Bud was very informative throughout the whole process. We are now in our dream home with our family and very happy we built with them!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with Leslie as our new home sales consultant! She has made the entire home-building process feel easy, exciting, and even fun for our family. Leslie was knowledgeable, patient, and always available to answer questions or walk us through each step. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we felt confident and supported throughout the journey. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to guide us through building our home, and we are so grateful for her dedication and positive energy. Highly recommend Leslie to anyone looking to build their home!

James Monroe and the entire staff made such an amazing and memorable experience for us building our first home! The process was very streamlined and efficient from the initial conversations all the way to final delivery. I can’t thank Kristin Murrow, Leslie Carter, and Matt Braun enough for all their hard work and dedication to ensure we have a successful delivery date and proper expectations. Really looking forward to our new home, thank you all again!

Everyone at James Monroe homes was very nice and helpful. We worked closest with Kristen and Bud. Kristen was very helpful, answering all of our questions as we prepared to moved states. In the design center we made our selections and a few custom tweaks. We’re so excited to finally be home.

When my husband and I started searching for a house we were focused on finding a builder that prioritizes quality and craftsmanship, and that also allowed us the flexibility to design our home the way we wanted.
We couldn't give enough praise for Kristin’s work. She's super attentive and clearly cares about delivering an exceptional experience to her customers from start to finish. We also would like to mention Charley, who was so sweet and beyond helpful when we were deciding on the finishes, and Bud, who was always present on our weekly updates and very attentive to all the details and questions we had regarding the construction.
The whole experience from beginning to end was a breeze, we felt so confident in their process because everything was always super transparent and handled professionally.
We'd definitely recommend JMH to anyone who's looking to build a house, they went above and beyond to ensure that our expectations were met, and we couldn't be happier with the result. -
Our experience was ok, positive interactions with the new home sales consultant: Kristin. Overall, the issue that we had was that our concerns was not validated or “things were just good enough.” The house itself is a nice product.
In my honest opinion, there’s several areas of improvement that could enhance the customer experience starting with the landscape package: the client should be given options of landscape packages instead of “what’s in season.” A second area of improvement would be moving the time of weekly calls to the evening timeframe as individuals that cannot alter their work schedule only play “catch up.” A third area of improvement would be to schedule more visits with the clients so the clients can be actively involved with the building process. A fourth area of improvement would be to provide a list of trade partners to clients at closing instead of waiting to an issue has occurred then providing the information. -
I would not even give James Monroe Homes (JMH) one star but because you have to in order for your review to be published here we are. Let me also say that once JMH sees this review they will put some automated response then block my ability to reply to them (I know this because I have reached out and spoke to residents of Magnolia Pointe and Eastgate that have had similar issues).
We have built two new construction homes and have lived in 4 new construction homes total. James Monroe Homes is by far the poorest quality and most expensive. This was supposed to be our forever home. We closed December of 2020 and our warranty items have yet to be fixed. But this is not even the most major issue. With just being in our brand new home for a couple of weeks we experienced water damage (from multiple different leaks) and mold. We had to fight tooth and nail to get these problems fixed which were only fixed with temporary fixes that we are still over a year later trying to get fixed properly. We keep getting the run around by James Monroe and his team and multiple times we have sent emails with no responses. We live in a very friendly neighborhood where everyone hangs out and we found out that there has been 7 James Monroe Homes that have had water damage before being lived in for even a year. This alone is unacceptable. On top of the water damage and mold we’ve had problems with our windows, roof, HVAC, and fence (that falls over with every gust of wind). James and his team has not attempted to make these problems right, all they care about is throwing houses up quickly with no follow up with the home owners.
James Monroe does not stand by his warranty, he places responsibility on the home owners, and multiple of our finishes went undone. Thanks JMH for the fixer upper that we were not wanting to take on.
Buyers— please do your research and by that I mean knock on the neighbors doors and ask what they truly think about James Monroe because most are afraid of putting it online.
