Great service, helpful, huge selection. We wanted a mulberry tree…we had 6 different berry colors to choose between!

I have been going to Walter Anderson Nursery just for herbs and vegetables. They have good variety, good quality and they say Non-GMO on them.
Not fan of other plants and flowers. They seem little pricey. -
Love this nursery. You can find plenty of different types of plants.
-
Love this place! The staff is very friendly, super knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Lovely plants and decent prices. Picked up a couple of fruit trees for the yard and seeds for the garden.

Adams is an absolute standout at Walter Anderson Nursery. He is incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and truly an expert in his field. We drive from a very far distance specifically for his advice and competence. It’s rare to find someone so helpful and professional—he is the reason we keep coming back. Thank you so much!

This has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop for plants. Well organized and friendly helpful staff really made my visit memorable. I was also looking for an exotic plant and they ordered 2 for me and the plants were healthy and happy. It's a little pricier than my other favorite plant nurseries but worth the visit especially if you're looking for hard to find plants.

Love this place besides all the great plants they have a bear train set up with water fall. The employees are super nice too
-
Shocked at how expensive it has become. Went to home depot after, exact same plants, a fraction of the cost.
Ive been going here for years, but no more. They had a 1ft twig of a lemon tree for $90. Insane -
Model train area and chicken coop for the kids, wide variety of beautiful plants and accessories foe adults. We visit often and love it. The customer service is always friendly and employees very knowledgeable.

A wonderful place to pick up your plants for any time of year. Quality product with a huge variety. We love getting six packs of flowers and blending them into our garden. Large selection of various soils, fertilizers, and plant food. Typically a busy place on weekends, give yourself enough time to check out everything. For kids, they have a large miniature train display/setup with lots of tiny details. Parking isn't typically an issue, lines can get long at the register.

What can I say…I come here literally once or twice a week. Long story short, when we all were on lockdown I decided learning many new things and gardening was one of them. I’m so grateful because their team teaches me so many new things. Always helpful and amazing quality.

Our favorite nursery to wander around! Fantastic selection of native and drought tolerant plants, flowers and trees. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. A great little 'pet safe' indoor plant table so you don't have to google each one you like. They also have aquatic lilies and plants to choose from for your pond. Did I mention they have a chicken coop and a mini train???? Always something interesting here!

First time here! I am a beginner plant enthusiast! Came here to get 4 indoor plants today and they had all the ones I was looking for! Bamboo, spider plant, peace lilies and a pothos plant.
Everyone was super friendly, checked in to see if we needed help, and could easily answer the questions I had regarding pets, light, and watering. -
Great place for a quick stop with kids. So many plants to choose. Good prices. Friendly Staff. A lot of parking. Just pay attention the train is on from 10 to 4.
-
Beautiful garden center. I like to stroll through on a regular basis to check out all the beautiful plants and always find something new and great!
-
Amazing store, come here for seeds, and the outdoor train set is epic! I think i will buy an assortment of hot peppers, bell peppers, tomatoes, and persimmon tree.
The folks that work here are great, friendly and knowledgeable.
Did i say the train is cool? -
Great gardening store and nursery. I don't live very close to this store but occasionally make the trip because it has so much more than our local nurseries. They have a ton of trees, succulents, vegetables, herbs, landscaping plants, and even unique plants that I don't see too often, like Angel's Trumpet. Bonsai, or water plants for ponds.
A main motivator of my drive, though, is that they have a fairly large selection of California native and drought tolerant plants. Each plant has great information, not just about size and care but about the importance to wildlife or native people.
I don't find their herb or vegetable selection to be as large as some other nurseries, but they do have way more trees than other places.
Inside the store they have all kinds of garden decor, fertilizers and tools for the garden, and seeds. Important to me, they carry seeds from The San Diego Seed company, so I can buy seeds that are adapted or selected for this area in particular.
My kids favorite area is the train. They have an amazing train set at this location, and they even decorate it for the holidays! The train conductors/operators are so friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy visiting with the kids who come.
And bonus, they had a Totoro inspired scavenger hunt for the kids! -
Beautiful to walk through, huge selection. Prices are on The high side but the quality and selection are what you pay for. Neat model train setup, also have a chicken coop. It’s fun to explore. I was looking for a olive tree and there was so much there I was lost. 4 stars cause prices are higher and could not find anyone to help.

I love the vibe of this place. It’s so relaxing with the train set and ponds/waterfalls. I come here often and my edible plants purchased from here are doing really well, I couldn’t be happier. The prices are decent, at least for the edible plants and herbs I have purchased. They have a nice selection of fun pots and garden accessories like wind chimes and hummingbird feeders.
-
I love this nursery! They have the best staff, fantastic selection, great prices and you can even get amazing advice from more experienced gardeners if they see you looking a bit confused about options. It's the best! I love the advice I get from everyone there, it has been a HUGE help!

Incredibly disappointing .. This is the second tree dead shortly after purchasing while still in its original pot. Total waste of money and time. Passion fruit and lime finger dead on same drip line I grow another 30 to 50 pots . I called for assistance, not even partial credit was offered. Last time I will be visiting this nursery!
Update: I cant respond to the owners message below but I will add it here for anyone interested in reading this:
Your records are incorrect. The Finger Lime was purchased in January, not May, and I called your shop perhaps not right away as I live too far to bring it in why I did not report the passion fruit issue nor wanted a refund for it. I received no courtesy or apology during that call earlier..
For anyone interested : after a careful inspection of both the Passion Vine and the Citrus reveals both died of root rot. This is a direct result of your nursery using heavy, compost-based mulch instead of the well-drained soil these specific plants require.
Closing my account because I identified a quality and technical failure in your stock is disappointing, but given the lack of support, it's clear we aren't a good match.
